  1. why not ? when i break off and go to track i cover a lot of distance. i bet my glide ration is pretty good at that time :) i even get a little unstable when i go from track to just flat. :) stan. -- it's not about defying gravity; it's how hard you can abuse it. speed skydiving it is ... 2. i told you i cheated :) let me find some numbers and graphs for ya. ok, here it is. i won't import numbers from jumptrack, just the screenshot. stan. -- it's not about defying gravity; it's how hard you can abuse it. speed skydiving it is ... Speed Skydiving Forum

  4. well, i'm from boston and we kept jumping at jumptown (jumptown.com) till mid december. i missed 3 or 4 weekends only since then. it's kinda cold now but it should be milder soon. stan. -- it's not about defying gravity; it's how hard you can abuse it. speed skydiving it is ... 5. i saw the video from this jump on WFFC 2001 (2000 ?) tape. the guy on the picture was in track and below the camera guy. he was tracking towards him and pull right below him. he was slightly behind him when bag came out. stan. -- it's not about defying gravity; it's how hard you can abuse it. speed skydiving it is ... 6. the last word is that the best place to put your protrack for the most accurate reading is on your harness where main webbing connects to the container. it was discovered during 2001 speed skydiving competition that one could temper with protrack placed on a ankle just simply by kicking the legs. there were speed spikes registered over 600 mph due to that effect. on the other hand if you don't do speed dives, why would you worry so much about how accurate the speed reading is ? i jump the exact configuration you described - two prodytters in my helmet and protrack on my harness for speed dives. stan. -- it's not about defying gravity; it's how hard you can abuse it. speed skydiving it is ... 7. 2 Pro Tracks for Speed Skydiving http://www.speedskydiving.net that's different. two official protracks are placed on harness webbing and results are averaged between two of them. having another two audibles in helmet makes a lot of sence too :) i have 2 prodytters in my z1 and one protrack on my harness. stan. -- it's not about defying gravity; it's how hard you can abuse it. speed skydiving it is ... 12. so true :) about the hassle ... i had 450 lbs on my neck doing my calves in my gym when i felt that something snapped and something felt wrong in my neck. i was very sore for couple of weeks and had some problem turning my head. one of my vertebrate shifted a bit and my muscules stiffened around it trying to fixate it in place. eventually everthing went back to normal but i don't put anything heavy on my back anymore. and i didn't go see any doctors. not very smart i guess :) stan. -- it's not about defying gravity; it's how hard you can abuse it. speed skydiving it is ... 14. thanks. i wish i could do my speed dives from 20K :) and pro-track readings might be very inaccurate if it's inside of the helmet, i agree with you on that one. stan. -- it's not about defying gravity; it's how hard you can abuse it. speed skydiving it is ... Speed Skydiving Forum

  18. even if an SUV could handle better then a regular car (which is not true) being driven by professional, the fact that most of the people are not professionals will still make statistics better towards cars. SUV is just a modern trend, it's a lemmings desease ... people just follow not thinking. SUVs are designed to be driven off road and they should stay there. if the roads were not cleaned at all and there was a foot of snow on it, that would justify existence of SUV and i would agree it's suitable. again, i'm not argue about using SUV where it's applicable - off road and on bad roads. 99% of SUVs are never driven there. stan. -- it's not about defying gravity; it's how hard you can abuse it. speed skydiving it is ... 20. 4x4 is not big help on the snowy road, unless you drive somewhere in vermont up in the mountains. if you start skiddin, all 4 wheels will skid since every wheel has 25% of the torque. all wheel drive will distribute torque to wheels depending on traction and is awesome for snow/rain. suvs have very high center of gravity and very prone to rollovers. every time there is some major snow storm here in new england i see suv in a ditch. i saw one today crashed into fire hydrant on the road where you can't go faster then 30 mph. how did he (she ?) managed to do that ? suv is great to get of the front yard withou bothering diggin' first. but that's pretty much it. FWD car will behave just fine on snow. stan. -- it's not about defying gravity; it's how hard you can abuse it. speed skydiving it is ... Speed Skydiving Forum
