Casquito, that's what I am talking about. Skydivers are always making it a point to let you know how they are right and someone else is wrong.

I knew it would only take one comment about the typical age of a skydiver to get an enormous amount of responses that counter it. I find that skydivers, more than anyone else I have encountered in my life, love to raise an exception to whatever you say. PcCoder.net

31 years at the time I did my first tandem, then was through AFF at 32. I think because it is an expensive sport you'll find a lot of jumpers in their 30's and up. PcCoder.net

Don't use the drugs you use on your patients. Seriously, best thing is to practice your turns with the instructor holding onto you before he decides to turn you loose if you are that unable to stop your turns. PcCoder.net

Not really. Just going to get together with whoever is there this weekend and probably do a large group round, something not too strenuous. Then....dodge the pie all day long. PcCoder.net

For some reason I seem to think I remember having a bit of trouble with this on my very first tandem. I think I was perhaps worked up and thought it may be a problem which psychologically prepared me to have trouble breathing. I haven't had any problems since. PcCoder.net

Well, this is certainly inspiring. I pick up my brand new gear this weekend with a new zero-p main and I have never packed my own rig. I took a packing class way back when I got my license, but have never packed anything I have jumped. And....my plan has been to start packing for myself. So, are you telling me I will be spending 66% of my time at the DZ packing?? Nice... can't wait. PcCoder.net

Ive been waiting on my Javelin for over 5 months. It finally arrived Friday and I'll get to jump it this weekend. It's about f**king time. PcCoder.net

Thanks, I downloaded this, this morning and it isn't terrible and could certainly be improved, but hey it's not half bad, especially considering there is nothing else. PcCoder.net

NOW feel like skydiver is who i am Not what i do...

I think what you are feeling is that liberation, doing something which makes you feel like nothing else ever has. Probably because most of us don't do anything else in our lives which has such a lasting effect (being dead if we screw up). PcCoder.net -
Anyone know of anything for the computer? I was thinking for those people who own Microsoft Flight Simulator (which allows for aircraft add-ins) that a canopy could be developed as an add-in. This would be not only helpful but really cool, and of course if you own Flight Sim already, it would be free.

What is your opinion about insurance
pccoder replied to hottamaly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've never gone any time without health coverage during my entire adult life, with the small exception of just after college prior to finding a job. PcCoder.net -
Thank you all for your advice. It is greatly appreciated. I look forward to my next trip to the DZ where I can practice all these new tips. Thanks again. PcCoder.net

No, I don't have a Pro Track but plan to purchase one soon. The working out thing might not work either. I eat alot of food which should cause a normal person to gain weight (lots of carbs). I do work out, not at a gym (at home) but still work out enough to stay in shape. I am tone, just real thin, always have been. I think the tight jumpsuit might be very helpful. I mostly do a lot of freeflying, so I can certainly count on falling slower than RW folks in my freefly suit. I have tried using the dropzones RW suits, but they of course are not designed to fit me perfectly. Must get one of these soon too. Any suggestions for RW suit? I want a nice one, and don't want to wait for months to get it. PcCoder.net

I always have trouble staying down with the group on an RW jump. I have to arch like hell just to stay with them. Also, I am not very flexible and have always tended to have my legs closer together than most jumpers who have them spread out more. I really don't want to wear additional weight to speed up, i just wish I would fall faster (or they would fall slower) I am 5'11 and weigh only 160, so what do I do? I guess I could start eating more PcCoder.net

Are you possibly epileptic? Have you ever been diagnosed with having had a seizure. Seizures do not have to be grand mal body shaking seizures. They can last only a matter of seconds and when they do you may not even know that it happened. It's more like a loss of time than anything else. PcCoder.net
