Classified - Unable to get Seller’s contact Info
Lostinspace replied to Lostinspace's topic in Error and Bug Reports
I usually have Dropzone.com remember my log-info. I logged out. When to another page, deleted my cookies and temporary files. Came back to the classified at Dropzone.com. Clicked on "log in to contact seller", logged in, and I was returned to the page and the link still says, "Log in to contact seller". I then came here to post. I am Sorry If I am doing something really silly and just can't see it. I have tried it using IE and Foxfire. Sorry. B -
Classified - Unable to get Seller’s contact Info
Lostinspace replied to Lostinspace's topic in Error and Bug Reports
In the classifieds, I am unable to get the Seller’s contact information. On the lefthand side of the advert, there is a link for “Log In to Contact Seller”. I am logged in. I click the link, which brings me to the “Welcome B . Where would you like to start today?” Help. -
I'm single, but who says I want to date anyone? But given the right person, I'm open to marriage proposals. I've dated, but never been married. I think I need something new. Any takers?

Why do some countries measure weight in KG?
Lostinspace replied to skyhighkiy's topic in The Bonfire
I think we were expecting a more practical application. Thankfully PhillyKev has a Spaceship. Maybe he’ll do skyhighkiy a favour -

Right after some explains the difference between classic and quantum gravity Thats easy, classic gravity is when an apple falls on your head Quantity gravity is when a kilo of apples fall on your head is this thread going to turn into the quantitative vs qualitative gravity debate? --------------------- side note my personal research has shown given engineer+single yields 1st dates >> 2cd dates. -

Why do some countries measure weight in KG?

yes, weight of an object is the force of gravity acting on it. It is calculated using the following formula: Weight (N) = Mass (kg) x g (N/kg or m/s2) ----------------------- Aftre english units are eliminated, I think gage sizes should be eliminated. and American thread sizes -

Um, You would also have to know where the earth's gravitational centre is. I thought you were making fun of Silly Brit's lack of spelling skills. Units suck. I stop using the after i graduated. -
Why do some countries measure weight in KG?

Are you questioning english versus SI units or measurment of mass vs weight? if it is the latter, then ... Scales measure force, not mass. If you know the weight of something and what gravity is where you are, ie what ever planet you are on, you can calculate the mass of the object that you are weighing. If you took your scale to the moon, it would show that you weight less, even though you would still be as massive as you were on the earth .It is not measuring your mass. Weight is a Force, units can be Kilograms-force - kgf, pond, slug, pound-force lbf or the proper SI unit of newton (symbol N), which is equivalent to kg·m·s-2 . -

I had a philosophy professor who believed that dinosaurs never existed and that dinosaur fossils were made by ancient civilizations in order to trick people into believe that the bible was wrong in regards to creation. He REALLY believed this. edited to add: In HS, I had a physic teacher, who on every friday on a week were we were all "good", would show us a video full of animals mating. EVERY Friday. Another physics professor built a model of the school parking lot at home. The parking lot was monitored with camera in the school office. With this model he made a video of a quahog (I’m from RI), going thought the parking lot and eating all the cars. One day, while in class, he spliced in to the surveillance system am relayed the video to the main office.

Force to deploy reserve, Small girl
Lostinspace replied to Lostinspace's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I was checking the student rig I jumped last Friday. To me, a know nothing new jumper, the reserve pin seems to be held REALLY tight. I asked one of the instructors about it, he confirmed it was perfectly normal. I have been in the hanging harness to practice cutaways, which does not extract a reserve pin. I am only 5’0, … no muscle. If I have to deploy my reserve, assuming the RSL has not done it for me (ie pilot in tow), am I going to have the strength to extract the reserve pin. Is it hard? I'm sure it has cost the team more than 10 million in development.

Where to get a good price on a new Mirage?
Lostinspace replied to Lostinspace's topic in Gear and Rigging
I am looking to buy my first set of gear. I am only 5’0” and have had no luck with finding a suitable used container. I have decided to buy a new Mirage and fill it with used components. Where/How do I get the best price? Thank you, B -
When I first used AOL in 1994, I was being my degree in engineering. The engineering course prefix was EGR. So I named myself EGRGirl. I started receiving a barrage of the dirtiest ickiest IMs and emails from other AOL users. It took me a few days to figure out why, those dirty people were reading it as “eager girl”, not “engineering girl”. So I renamed my self lostinspace, hoping no perves would come looking for me.

Isn't that the truth. I really have wanted my masters, even before I graduated. I would have never stopped working to go to school. -
Finally Feel Like I'm Making The Right Decision About School
Lostinspace replied to Lostinspace's topic in The Bonfire
I got my b/s in mechanical engineering 4 years ago. I got laid off this summer, which really hurt my confidence. I decided to work on becoming a math teacher, teachers don’t get outsourced to other countries. … To cover my bases, because I am so indecisive about what I want my future to be, I decided take the actuarial exams. But I didn’t know if I was making the right decision. I signed up for 21 credits. History of math Geometry (300 level) Probability and statistics (400 level) Intro to Math Rigor (300) Teaching observation (1 credit) Education psychology (500 level) And some other 500 level education class. On the 6th day of classes, I couldn’t take the boredom any more. I was sitting in 1 of the education classes and just got up and walked out. I’m not a teacher. I’m an engineer. Without an appointment, I went to talk to the chair of mechanical engineering about Grad school. When I walked in, The chair said “I’ve been expecting you, Belinda.” We talked for an hour, some of which was about my sister who dropped engineering the day before. I am now talking the following classes: MCE545 Conduction Heat Transfer II MCE549 Adv Product Design Manufacture MCE571 Elasticity I, Theory, Numerics, and Application MTH451 Probability and Statistics I have to get a 3.3 to be admitted for grad school and I am not afraid. I know I am making the right decision, but wish me luck. Plus, I now have no classes on Fridays. Belinda -
