    PC construction

You seem to know a bit about these 2 designs. I personally thought Bias was the only correct way to make a pilotchute. Care to enlighten me on the designs. Life is Great. Even Greater what we do with it.

Yeah that was the general reason for the thread. for people to write what types of PC's they use. and what situations and height they use them in. Life is Great. Even Greater what we do with it.

    Pilot Chute Sizes.

Heya all, Been interesting some of the comments i seen on the sizes of pilot chutes people use these days seems to differ alot between people. Please write what pilot chutes you own (48, 46, 42, 40, 38, 36, 32, 30) and what heights you use them and what size your canopy is. Thanks hopefully we can get some good info outta this thread. 14. One thing iv always wondered. most building jumps i see is always off the side of a building. where anything over 90degree's offheading would start to make you going in the direction of the building.. Do many people lauch off the corner of a building.. it would seem to me like it would give you more offheading leway. Life is Great. Even Greater what we do with it.
  15. hehe. no need to apologize. the only thing i was trying to get across is keep an open mind. i would neither say iam a toggle guy or riser guy. Life is Great. Even Greater what we do with it.
  16. you took my post out of context and quoted everything but the bit i wrote about stiffy toggles. there is a big different missing toggles that lay nearly flat and stiffy toggly who present themself open to the user. Life is Great. Even Greater what we do with it.
  17. Even the best can screw up or just plain get unlucky. but iam fairly sure he was not using stiffy toggles that also add's a factor. i think its pretty bad logic to base one video on you choice in toggles vs risers. im sure you could dig up video of someone using risers in the same instance and fucking up. 18. Yeah what i ment is.. i dont think there would ever be much force on the bridle for it to become a problem if it even could be one. hitting the edge to fuck up your break cord there would have to be a bit of loading on the bridle. but your canopy should already be extracted before that loading is high enough to come into play. 19. I think the kind of jump has some contributing factor also. very low jump using risers could plow you into ground. i guess also on a very low jump you could also just use risers to back your canopy up till you hit the ground. /shrug Life is Great. Even Greater what we do with it.
  20. Wouldnt it be best to use shallow brake settings on this. As the chances off an offheading are down considerably seeing you are static lining it. less surge when you pop brakes. how is the landing area? i dont think your shockloading concerns would really present a problem the force needed to open you container is very small. and all tension should be off it by the time that edge comes into play. im just a beginner though. i wouldnt really listen to me or my advice =) Life is Great. 21. Not sure in relation to the nose.. but i know on ultra low stuff its better to lauch upright as you get less pendulem effect on opening. Life is Great. Even Greater what we do with it.
