Actually, the opposite reaction seemed to work at our club. We started to listen to him and encourage him to talk. Then we would call him on stuff and ask him to explain the shit he had concocted. Eventually he needs to make up believable stories and that is not really fun. But seriously, by not ignoring him and then asking him to explain everything sort of worked, and got him to research things, making him a better skydiver. Funny how he has changed and become a bit quiet. When he get's called on something totally unbelievable in front of a crowd, it is embarassing. Yeah, normally in a SL class you can get away with that, but with these AFF guys, most of the instruction was done in a casual environment and over the course of the weekend. Also, we had bad weather, so we were socialising with them as a group anyway. So there was not really a time to say that. I did get serious when we needed to, and I got a comment from him, saying " Arn't you enjoying yourself? you are not smiling?" My reply was that this is serious and I have your life in my hands. Yeah he is here on holiday, they are off to the game parks, Mozambique and then a tour of the East coast and they are back to finish the course, as bad weather only got them upto L3. I did get it to blow over, and I won't have to deal with it until he comes back in a few weeks time. I did manage to not get caught up in everything, but it was uncomfortable. hello, Damn you chose a great time to come to SA. BUT, most of the DZ's in the centre of the country close down for the holidays. I know there are some boogies happening, but the coastal DZ's will be operating. It also depends on where in the country you are going to be... Let's keep in touch! Thanks. I saw her today to see for myself if she was as ok as she kept saying. They should be ok, but this is life changing for them all. She said that it brought her and her hubby even closer as a couple. She is also not going to concentrate on work so much and wants to spend more time with her family and friends - that means me!!
