Parents Or more to the point the lack of parents. The teachers have become social workers, life teachers, educators, disciplinarians, best friends, mothers, fathers, shoulders to cry on, a dictionary, an encyclopedia, a support group, they teach kids manners, life skills, social skills and more. My post had nothing to do with the whole thing of withholding sex, I was aiming at getting people to see what they can do make the person feel better about themselves. It was not meant as a bribe in any way. I have found in my experience that women are animals. They find a man that is good enough to provide for them and procreate with them and look after them and their offspring. If they are not feeling this, they don't have that same affinity / affection for their SO/partner/husband. If we could understand why girls keep on looking after their men (cooking, cleaning, feeding, nurturing) while the guy gets lazy, (couch, remote, football) then we could save many relationships. I would like to find more men paying attention to their women like they did in the beginning of a relationship. Calls, surprises, affection.... That is what this post is about. Not bribery or withholding. In fact, the woman should not really notice all this, she should just feel a stronger animal affinity to the man. It is a natural, sexual animal urge that needs to be re-lit. In a relationship, once a day would be great! I am the last one to refuse a shag, believe me! Ok, this is a long term goal, so listen up and do as I say!! Everyday Tell her she looks great If you don't see her, call her Send a text message telling her you are thinking of her. Put a hand written note in her purse for her to find later Organise dinner, when she gets home, have a bath run for her. Candles are great Don't expect anything from her for a while. Give her a massage - No strings attached Wake her up in the morning with a cup of tea or coffee Pick her a flower from the garden Tell her she looks nice Kiss her lots Feed the kids/animals You need to make it about her, without making it about sex. A woman needs to feel that you will be there for her. It is not about who owes whom - And guys please, the little things count as much as the big things. Not sure there's such a thing as a non sexual touch, esp from a gal like you! After taking a half year out to refind my nerves, it seemed helpful having a woman do my refresher/wind/release jump. (I'm sure it was intentional on their part to match us) She was very positive throughout. As opposed to the main guy I had before I paused who tended towards the grumpy, 'get your shit together' type speeches. Though that approach can work, I think it's particularly bad for those whose nerves are hurting performance. I initially thought that being a girl would be a hinderence, but it is really not. People respond to the calmness and smiles more. But some people respond better to a man. I have found that some people do not respect a woman's opinion and so I when I realise they are not listening to me, I pass them onto a guy coach or inst. As long as you are above a 1.0 wing loading at 50 jumps. Many people are loathe to get gear while they have to get 190/170 rigs. They borrow or rent from the club. Still not convinced that they will be taking up the offer. Maybe if they hit the 300-500 jumper they might get a better response. I jumped second hand old gear for 750 jumps....... A lot of girls and guys get really nervous! Being a girl I can sometimes do the soft spoken words of encouragement. The best is telling them to breathe. Ok, normally "Ok you can start breathing now!" While I am checking the 3 ring system, normally gets a smile on their face. I also tell them the story i was told of the small breaths we take when we get nervous, coupled with the thinner air climbing to 3500-11k (We are 5k ASL) and telling them they are starving their brains. A quick breathing session - In through nose, out through mouth - normally sorts it out. Also a non-sexual squeeze of their upper arm prior to exit helps. Human contact is proven to assist with nerves. If it is really bad, DRASTIC MEASURES - I carry lip balm in my jumpsuit pocket. Dry mouth is terrible!! And possibly offer a sip of water. Well you can only go one size down, so might not be opening a can of worms just yet. Our students are on 280's, then 230's then 200's and then they have to buy their own gear. They are also not allowed to have a wing loading exceeding 1.0 under 100 jumps. (For main or reserve) So I don't think too many people here will be taking up that offer. We have direct differences between AFFi's and Coaches. The AFFI's are instructors for one. They jump with students. From level 1-10. They are teaching the basic survival skills for skydiving. A coach then takes the students onto an intermediate skills programme and then onto advanced body flight skills in a chosen discipline. The coaches are not resposnible for pulling for a student. The student should already be advanced enough to have passed the AFF or SL programme. Coaching is really just skills transfer for better skydiving. A coach has to be a jumpmaster but not an instructor. An instructor does not necessarily have to be a coach. BUT : I have found chasing AFF students around the sky has drastically improved my flying skills enough for me to go for the AFF I course. Are you saying that because a student did not listen and some shit could happen, I should die to attempt to save a student?? I think that is pretty selfish of you. Maybe your daughter should not be skydiving at all if you expect other people to die for her. Don't try put a guilt trip on the people who are teaching people to skydive and pull out at 2k to save themselves. Hard deck is 2000ft. That is the rule. Rules have been set because people have died! If you feel that your kid cannot maintain for herself, they should not be skydiving. I did not become a skydiver / Instructor to die for my students. Who is going to tell my mom I have died? YOU? Thanks for that. I am going to be taking this back to our instructors body so I have some back up and don't just sound like a ninny. There is nothing like telling some full of himself young student that is trying to show off because I am a girl that he WILL DIE if he does not do as I say and do the drills properly and stop making flippant comments in the class. They tend to start listening. I really don't believe in the gory stuff for the first jump, but yes, education once they carry on is essential. Thanks for the input.
