    i dont understand that. thats analogous to an astronaut training in a simulator to get better at the simulation, rather than training for an eventual mission. .-.

    I've searched and found a few posts on this, but none that give me a complete answer. I've taken video from VHS and encoded it onto my computer in high quality digital video format (file extension is avi). These file sizes are huge, which is what I want, but I want to compress these file sizes down so that I can share them as well. Like I said, I want the huge file sizes as well to keep archived on CD, but I can't figure out what I should use (software or file type) to drastically reduce these filze sizes. I've used Vegas Video to try and render various file sizes but they come out "choppyish." Every few seconds there is a slight chop/break which is noticeable. I know this is due to the drecease in quality (less frames per second) but I'm sure that you guys have a way around this or have a specific app/file type you use. Suggestions please? Thanks. .-.

    ok so i havent been and have a few short questions. is pre-registration any cheaper than regular registration? when does pre-registration end? i was thinking about getting some raffles for the high altitude/bomber jumps. how do they work? if 35 people buy $10 raffles for the $350 bomber jump does that mean 1 will be raffled or does the convention take a cut? when are the raffles done? i tried looking on the site for this info but im pretty sure its not on there. oh, and who's going?! .-.

    rules are meant to be broken. the people that ignore safety advice right now would be the same people that would violate any new rules. i see most of the "rules" in this sport as guidelines. that doesn't mean you shouldn't follow them. but if you don't, ignore them at your own risk. i also feel that some of the rules involve not just your own life, but mine too. and by the way, is there evidence that those rules actually made things safer? naturally, higher pull altitudes could be reasonably thought to make jumping somewhat safer. not to say they haven't, im just curious. .-.

    I wanted to say thank you to everyone (well most of you) who posted constructive feedback for me. Also thank you for the PMs from those of you who know me personally. I've thought it over and decided it just isn't worth it to get rid of the Cypres. Money shouldn't even be a factor on my list of reasons for getting rid of the unit. After looking carefully through other threads on AADs and the posts in this thread, I came to the right decision. Thanks again; feel free to continue the posts in this thread if you feel it should go on so others can see. -Darren .-.

    My 4 year service requirement has come up for my Cypres and I'm giving thought to just selling the device. The main reasoning is that I don't really feel that a.) I need the device and that b.) It is worth the money to keep it updated for the 2/4 year services. Is this the same as saying that I value my life at $250 (or whatever the cost is for the service)? I'm curious if anyone else has sold their Cypres for similiar reasons. As of now I'm having the Cypres sent in for the service and when it returns I will make my decision to keep or sell it. .-.
