  1. Sorry. Sometimes I can't help myself. Also, I've already exhausted myself on another "Why don't we have better helmets?" thread. In regards to the whole helmet lining debate... ... if you want to give up the low profile for that extra protection, check this out: http://www.boneheadcomposites.com/mil_m3t.htm For myself. I'll stick with low profile and sufficient padding for my needs. I wore a Pro-Tec for 500 jumps, a frap hat for 500 jumps. And for the last 1500 or so, I've worn an Aviator. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  2. My Mathias only has one "t" in his name. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  3. >>$50 at the local sports MegaMart. Gravity Gear!
  4. What is your inseam? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  5. You may be surprized to know that a number of jumpers are bi-polar. Her doctor would be the one to ask. Ask how stable she is on medication. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  6. >>I always tip my packer.. even when I get a spanker or two.. Gravity Gear!
  7. If he is super muscular over the shoulders (likely at 230) he would need a D. Do you know his inseam? In all likelyhood, it will be too small. Unless he has a short torso with narrow shoulders and a big but to make up the rest of that 230 lbs. Sorry. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  8. PM me your snail mail. I got your screws right here. Edited: I just realized you are not after a screw, but a spring..... I have that too! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  9. What size is your head? I have two used full face helmets in my store. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  10. Happy Birthday Yamamoto! For you birthday, I'm leaving my husband and seeking you out. This is your 30 second warning to run and hide! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  11. I never met Mariann, but she was a big part of my decision to stay in the sport after becoming a Mother. I am forever questioning my choice to skydive, my choice to swoop, my choice to instruct. I go through phases. My daughter is my life, and I want what is best for her. In 2003 I read an article on Mariann in Skydiving Mag. At that point I decided that would continue living my life the only way I know how. My most heartfelt thoughts are with her son and family. I hope in time you find peace. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  12. Take the progression. And only make the decision to buy or not buy after you are down to the 170. It may be that you feel more comfortable with a 170 for a while. Where do you jump? What elevation? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  13. No. I get solicitations from them all the time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  14. I get those all of the time. Regardless of weather or not they are a real sew house and the original suit may have been designed by a skydiver.... ....this does not look at all appealing. I also get them for helmets, altis, etc. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  15. Ask the same question in the Wing Suit forum. It is a fine choice for solos, RW, two ways..... I know a few hard core freeflyers that even prefer them, even though it is not the norm. You wear what fits your needs and comfort level. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  16. Is that when you were born? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  17. It's not the main that I'm concerned with (as much). You would be overloading the reserve for your experience level at a high altitude drop zone. A bad combination, IMHO. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  18. Forget about price for now. First part of the equation is canopy sizes and harness fit. What is your body weight? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  19. I do. Well I don't rent gear. But if someone borrows my rig and kindly repacks it for me, or has it repacked, I open it up and repack it if I have time. I'm anal. I like my openings (only second best to my husbands pack jobs). If I borrow someones rig, I jump what I get, but carefully give it a FULL gear check. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! 20. Most cutting edge. I'm going to have to go with Vector3. Go to www.relativeworkshop.com and watch the clip on the skyhook. Bill Booth also designed that little gadget called the three ring release system. You are in a great place at a great time in skydiving. There are many, many great systems on the market. So take this time and browse all the sites to see what appeals to you. You can PM me or any manufacturer on here to answer specific questions. Disclaimer: I am a gear dealer. It's a true pleasure to be able to offer so many great choices in skydiving equipment. If you are the engineering type, call or e-mail Kelly F from Velocity Sports. You can actually PM Bill Booth from Relative Workshop. Ankie from Wings (Sunrise Manufacturing) reads these forums. The list goes on, and on. Happy researching, and welcome to the sport! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  21. Try not to overthink, and breath. Focus on your breath during that last 1000 to altitude. You already practiced everything on the ground. So all you have to do just prior to exit is slow your heart rate and breath. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  22. When I started skydiving, I had budgeted $100 a month. Then I got a smaller apartment and it went up, then I cut out my cable because I was never watching TV anyway, and it went up, then I cut out..... well just about everything. Soon I was living out of a van and traveling south in the winter to jump. But that was just me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  23. IMHO rolling the nose pertains to older style parachutes. More modern parachutes don't like it at all. The slider is more important. But I still wouldn't jump an original Sabre or a Hornet or a Falcon or and older Tri without rolling the nose. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  24. I had a big boy quitting the sport come into my store this weekend asking about consignment. He is quitting the sport. He has a 230 main. Don't have details yet, but PM me after the weekend and I'll see if I have a match for you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  25. Hey there! Byron has several jumpers that live in Berekely. Should be able to find a ride. Check out NorCalSkydivers group on Yahoo. You can also take BART to Dublin and hook up a ride from anyone coming via 580... which is mostly everyone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
