    When...

At Skydive Lake Tahoe our Level 8 was a sit fly exit. If you go slow and maintain spacial and altitude awareness, it is my opinion that freefly moves are just as safe as learning backflips. Make sure you ALWAYS work to improve your tracking and good stable pull position. Make sure you have good safe gear. If you have any question in regards to "freefly friendly" gear, PM me. And please have fun! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  3. If you keep your abs tight like you are doing a half crunch, it takes away that tendancy to arch and helps train your spine to stay vertical. AND, it give you a pretty waist line! No arch, spine vertical, no more backsliding. Keep your eyes on the horizon, just like AFF and start monitoring heading control. Just for starters. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! 4. Nice goin' Justin! And thanks for the insight on Aubrey, Kolla! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  5. Can you post a pic? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  6. Talk to Ray Ferrell at Skydance Skydiving in Davis California. He's the man with all the stats on that aircraft in regards to skydiving. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  7. You should ask the current owner why. I have found skydivers to be pretty up front about things. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  8. No white spandex on the back where your rig sits or it will end up looking like dirty underwear. Good dark selection on the back of the legs. If you are going with three colors: Blue, Purple and White, keep all the spandex one color and the poly-cotton another. Sometimes you will get different die lots and when you put Royal Spandex with Royal Poly-Cotton, they won't have a perfect match. So as a rule of thumb if you are switching colors do it where there is a fabric switch. Have fun. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  9. And it has REALLY good karma ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  10. i know, that's why i put some smiles in my messages. but even sabre-2s have sometimes spanking problem. as we can see by this post. i don't anything special packing. never had hard opening in 669 jumps. i jumped pd 9 cell, sabre (original :)), safire2, crossfire2. maybe i'm less sensitive about openings, i like fast openings actually. I've even had reports of Crossfires dishing out some spankings. Any canopy can open hard. Even those with a reputation for SOFT openings. I agree, mind your slider. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  11. And also note: The way you are loading the ANY 150 with your experience level can get you hurt or dead in a hurry. Just be careful up there. It's not the landing that concerns me. It's your decision time. You're going to drop out ot the sky a lot quicker now. So heads up! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  12. For my 2000th we did a formation load with a C206 and a King Air. Gawd knows how, but the pilots lined it up spot on just at sunset. We just tracked, but the visuals from exit until breakoff rocked. Formation load with the C182 and C185 sounds awesome. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  13. UPS is my #1 pick. Fed Ex Saver farms out their ground deliveries, and can be inconsistant in rural areas. They are great for Air Shipments though. Insurance and consistancy with UPS has always worked for me... ....knocking wood as I package yet another rig for shipment! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  14. I like my stows a bit more snug thant that. I find a large band doubled works well.... What he said. I use all large and double wrap. Nice and tidey, nice and snug. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  15. Agreed. Flite Suit makes a great TM suit. You can even get leather reinforcement. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  16. If you don't want to find out "what it would hurt" to have a camera helmet now, make sure the helmet you choose does not have a mount and do not assemble the chin cup just yet. I would recommend the Hawkeye that Skybytch listed earlier. They are fairly low profile. I have jumped mine "Naked" and it is fairly comfortable. Also the price point is good. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  17. Come out regardless and help me in the store! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  18. Thanks for the visual! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  19. And might I say, Skybaby, that you look like a million dollars, so you got off cheap! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  20. My broken pelvis cost me $35,000.00 WITHOUT surgery. That was 10 years ago. Blue Cross offers catastrophic insurance that is reasonable. The deductable is high, but at least you won't be out 35 - 250K if the day comes.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  21. That's my line! A lot of times a student will be a "spinner" due to lack of leg awareness. This "homework" really seems to help: Put a pillow on the ground in front of the couch. (So your hips don't hurt too much) Arch with your legs at a 45 degree angle and resting on the couch. Point your toes. Apply pressure to the couch (imagining that it is really 120mph wind). If you don't assert that pressure, that couch.... I mean that wind will have a field day with your legs. Keep applying the pressure. Apply more. Apply less. Get in tune with the legs behind you. If you practice on the ground, you'll remember they are back there next time you are in the air. Have fun! That's what your up there for, right? You'll be flying solo in no time. For now, enjoy the company. Smile at the folks you are hanging out with up there, and have a blast! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  22. Is it a used Sabre? How many jumps? Does it have a slider mod? Have you asked the origianl owner how the openings were? I have jumped many Sabres (190, 170, 150 and 135) with nothing but great openings. I have sold many Sabres to many, many saticfied customers. I have also heard of "some" Sabres opening hard. These folks put a slider mod on their canopies and had great results. My suggestion is to ask the current owner what their experience was with that particular canopy. That should help you the most with your decision. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  23. In my opinion based on my experience, firing your reserve with a floating pud should not cause your main to open. Unlike a pilot chute in tow malfunction with a throw out, you have no drag from the pilot chute on your pin. However, you really need to start taking a more firm grip on that pud and feel yourself extract that pin before you huck it! Or. If it is coming out before your reach for it. Get your gear fixed! If you don't have a plan for every two-out senario, sit down with an instructor and go over the possible senarios one by one. You need to educate yourself to the possible senarios and the flight charactoristics of your canopies. Then make your own decisions on what you would do in each senario. If you are out at Davis tomorrow, I'll be there. Perhaps we can chat in person. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  24. Can you post a pic of your BOC while your PC is packed in there? What is the DOM on your container? Is there any bridal exposure? Do you have a decorative handle on your PC? One that is bigger than the normal leather handle? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  25. I'm with Aggie. A Sabre2 260 would rock! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
