Western rattlesnake. Not considered dangerous until they are born.

The first part of the sentence was just an intro to the second. Without that: The stock market will rise 40-50% during Obama's second term. Better? It would have gone up under Romney too.

I hear that Obama introduce Petraeus to the lover.

Take another look today. Yes, the last couple of days were quite down. Up 72% in Obama's first term, and will be up 40-50% in the second.

Putting the tax rates back where they were under Clinton would fix most of the revenue side, with much work still required on the spending side. You are correct that the rates need to extend down to the middle class, not just to the upper few percent. Not popular politically (with the middle and upper middle class), but I don't see how to avoid it.

I voted Yes on 38 and no on 30, because after reading through them voting yes on both didn't make any sense. 38 wasn't even close though, it got shot down 72%/28%. Also worth noting: the two bond sale/property tax increase measures for school infrastructure in my area both passed while the sales tax increase for roads and such looks like it will fail (it's close, and they're apparently still counting mail-ins.) This kind of thing shouldn't be unexpected though as in LA county it only takes a 55% vote to increase property taxes to fund a project whereas it takes a 2/3 vote to raise sales tax to fund a project. To make my point short, the people of means in this country, who have benefited from the opportunities that America presents, know the game. And if the proposition is put forward THEY WILL pay for the country's steak dinner. BUT Everyone else has to chip in for the tip. I voted yes on 30, no on 38.

Some advise for the GOP in a changing world
headoverheels replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
Nothing bad about avoiding a shit-flinging fan. As far as the billions spent on the campaign -- well that is why the media called it a tie, so that the parties would throw even more advertising dollars their way. -
Who else was he supporting?

if you spent hundreds of millions for nothing, you might be grasping at straws too. This defeat may spell the end for the guy...like Newt's loss in 1998. Yeah, well, that doesn't mean he will go away, any more than Newt has.

Funny enough, there was a linked article off that page, saying "Akin Wins Missouri Senate Race." Of course, it was old, talking about the Primary election.

Romney/Ryan lost, but Ryan we re-elected to Congress.

Looks like Alan West in FL is going down.

I would be great if she would lose. Along with rejecting Aiken and Walsh and Mourdock, it would give me some hope that the Republican party can get back on track.
-
Wow, Michelle Bachmann is only ahead by 120 votes.
-
And a clear defeat for lies and cynicism. Mourdock loses in Indiana.
