  1. In one of the 2004 debates, Bush said "nukular", and immediately hesitated, seeming to mentally kick himself for doing that once again. Maybe that's why there has been no bombing of Iran -- he keeps asking to use the nukular weapons, and is told that we don't have any such.
  2. Speaking of currency, I hear that the value of the dollar is getting so low that they are considering putting Bush's picture on it.
  3. My doctor says this hairy mole on my back is nothing to worry about, but I'm STILL worried.
  4. I don't care if I AM 7 months pregnant -- I'm going skydiving!
  5. That might be okay, but I personally would rather see them fight it out with guns.
  6. Not if they were talking about themselves. I'd call that personal preference, like eye color, body shape, etc. Not according to the definition you posted either.
  7. Absolutely. I find it interesting that comments have to be screened/approved to be added.
  8. That's probably your same most of the people that wanted the war in Iraq.
  9. #93, although "El-Cap 88" may have been scrawled on the Yosemite jail cell wall. Five people had apparently snuck up there since the previous week.
  10. Amphibian, not float plane. Sounds like maybe there have been two. I was there the same day as Gareth, feels like about 10 years ago. That one had one main gear stuck down (IIRC), so it couldn't land on water (lake Berryessa) either. The piliot/owner had his 10 year old grandson with him. I don't find a reference on the NTSB accident database.
  11. I usually jump a Katana 107, but the headings on opening are all over the place. I bought a Pilot 117 specifically for big ways. It usually opens on-heading within 5-10 degrees, and only once has turned as much as 90. I also tried a Nitron for a while, and also found the openings to be not quite predictable enough. I don't have any Crossfire experience.
  12. Actually, using the book of revelations to determine your voting choice is what makes you ignorant and wrong. Think what you want, but when Judgement day is here, we will see then who is laughing....
  13. I don't think you'll be jumping the 150 until you have over a hundred jumps. Some people take years (or never) do that, some in a few months. I can't figure out why you would put a down payment on a rig that you wouldn't be jumping for a long time.
  14. McCain also has a better ethanol policy. i.e., eliminate the $0.50 per gallon subsidy and the import tax on (sugar cane based ethanol). I don't know whether Obama supports such subsidies because of being from the midwest, or just misguided regarding corn based ethanol. Still voting for Obama, but not happy about that issue.
  15. Hey, plant some cacti, need more Tequila. Compared to what I was paying in 1977, and accounting for starting salary inflation, jump prices would have to be $35 to be as expensive as when I got out of school. Like Jeff, I jump in the Lodi time-warp, and buy 13k tickets for $13 in blocks of 50. Sometimes we don't get quite the altitude, but nobody is going to complain. At least as often, we get extra. The price (at least at the $25 level) doesn't really affect the amount I jump, but I'm financially fortunate to have more income than some, and no kids to raise. I do have my priorities -- I'm on my 3rd car ever, and I just turned 54. I'd rather have an extra week off a year than a more expensive or newer car.
  16. If you fly non-stop, SFO (San Francisco) will be your choice. If you change planes somewhere else in the U.S., then OAK (Oakland), SJC (San Jose), and SMF (Sacramento) are other choices which might or might not have a better price or schedule.
  17. Tune in, turn on, drop out...

  19. Bad because it doesn't outright outlaw it. Holding the phone is only a small part of the distraction.
  20. About 90 miles each way, so it was eating about 6 gallons round trip in my Passat. I've slowed down my driving a bit when I can, now using about 10% less. Gas cost becoming noticable, but not significant.
  21. No wimpy HHO burner for me -- I'm going directly to cold fusion (compressed and contained by some of those magnets Bill is using).
  22. You mean Colin "there is nothing to investigate at My Lai" Powell? Not even with an arrhythmic heartbeat.
  23. Yes, I would except it, but I wouldn't accept it.
  24. "He contended his wife's injuries cost him loss of consortium." Someone should tell the husband to go wank off.
  25. Can we get a translation? Sounds like he is calling someone a pussy at about 1:09 into the clip.
