I've eaten at Subway within the last year or so, but haven't eaten at any of those other places in maybe 5 years or more.

He should be writing from jail. Not surprising to see him writing for FOX.

More folks who don’t like women with guns …
headoverheels replied to nerdgirl's topic in Speakers Corner
Wrong country, John. This is the one that Bush has largely been ignoring. -
As I said, do both, but listen first. Then, watch the re-broadcast. Much more informative that way.

Any chance Palin will hold her own during the debate?
headoverheels replied to freeflybella's topic in Speakers Corner
Yes, she can have a place on the team. Just not VP, or anywhere close to that level. -
This reminds me of an engineer I interviewed many years ago. I always ask some stuff that any good EE should know, even straight out of school. His response was "that's a good thing to asked new grads, but let me tell you about the work I've been doing." Slightly of interest, but he didn't get the job, since I was pretty certain he didn't have the basics under control.

It is derogatory, in an elitist way. Or may she was just talking about her husband.

I gotta agree with Mike here, and that's not gonna happen that often regarding this election. The baby will be no worse for wear, they just konk out anywhere if they need to. I cannot see why a sibling shouldn't be holding it. A non-issue. I didn't see any baby, since I listened to the debate on the web. I found it interesting 4 years ago to first listen (streaming or radio), without seeing all the expressions, camera shots, crowds, etc. That way I could really listen to what was being said with minimal distractions for my initial impressions and analysis. Later that night, I could see the re-broadcast on TV.

OMFG, Palin says "nucular" too! -
Yep, looks like Barr should sweep Texas. http://www.bobbarr2008.com/press-releases/109/rules-must-bend-to-allow-mccain-obama-on-texas-ballot-with-barr/

God, this is painful to watch. http://www.236.com/feed/2008/10/01/palin_cant_name_supreme_court_9259.php -

Pelosi's Hypocrisy: Failure to lead by example.
headoverheels replied to piper17's topic in Speakers Corner
It may be marginally legit, but I have no use for Pelosi, or for Boxer either. How these pathetic candidates got elected, I don't know. I generally vote D (maybe 80% of the time), but certainly have never voted for either of these two. Ugh. -
??? I know a lot of lower-income, poorly educated conservatives. Most of them are ditto heads.

I didn't read the whole thing -- just too idiotic. I did get a laugh out of other "headlines" on that web page! Not disclosing donors under the federal limit of $200 is exactly what I want organizations/campaigns/whatever to do. It is about privacy for donors of trivlal amounts, while requiring larger donors to be disclosed. It's bad enough to get bombarded with follow-on requests for funds from the Republican (or whatever) party just because you donated previously, without being added to the mailing list of every special interest group out there.

Further down, in your same article: Robert L. Gnaizda, policy director and general counsel of the Greenlining Institute, an advocacy organization in Berkeley, Calif., says he believes that lenders, not borrowers, should shoulder the blame for this debacle. “Lenders were like the worst stockbrokers peddling stocks in 1999 saying there is a new dynamic now,” he said. “We believe financial institutions have a fiduciary responsibility. They shouldn’t be promoting instruments that are high-risk and they know it.”

McCain builds winning coalition for bailout vote!

I think he wanted to use "Mission Accomplished" but someone else stole his thunder. -
rumored: Britol Palin's wedding may be used as PR boost
headoverheels replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
Isn't it the time to themselves and being happy together that got them to this station? Maybe a bit of and wouldn't have resulted in a pregnancy. -
