  1. A veteran, with four medals, and a degree in Political Science. And a name that sound environmentally concerned. And he ran a campaign very economically. Do that with the Senate, and we will all be getting big tax breaks. What more do y'all want?
  2. +1 +2 If it is a fat wallet, sitting on it makes you stress your spine crooked. My chiropractor told me to get it out of the back pocket.
  3. A friend and I were discussing setting up a company/service where people would pay to come be waterboarded. You know, fun leisure activity like doing a tandem, taking a whitewater raft trip, etc. Tasering might be an up-sell item, but that gets pretty expensive, so a simple cattle prod or handheld zapper might suffice for those who want more.
  4. Maybe there were more anniversaries that we don't know about.
  5. I saw this same problem happen to someone else a few weeks ago. As his canopy dropped after landing, one riser fell loose. Experienced jumper, had put his rig back together than morning, and seems to have made that same routing mistake on one riser. At least, that is the only explanation we could figure out.
  6. I hear there are some unused aircraft clogging up the ramp -- you can probably crash in there.
  7. Fits right in. Springs from "politics makes strange bedfellows."
  8. I guess you can pass yourself off as a phlegm-ish artist.
  9. I enjoy bidding ahead, just to push up the price for something I will not be winning anyway. Gotta help out the sellers.
  10. 90 days (13 weeks) is the legal limit in Italy, if I understand correctly. I have no idea whether cases of deformity, etc. allow for later terminations.
  11. Is it too soon after the tragedy to make that joke that there was instability caused by poles in the right half plane?

  13. Just another case of "assault with a friendly weapon."
  14. I used to take my rig, and get in a few jumps, when I went back to my home state to visit. I haven't taken it on a trip, other than to a skydiving event, for the last 28 years. There are other things to do and see, especially somewhere like Kauai, not to mention the hassle of lugging gear.
  15. And you will be, for the rest of your life.
  16. Here is the letter: http://advwisc.3cdn.net/e0faa13153c32e4cb3_2xm6bnfyu.pdf
  17. Brown? I came out from working under my MG last weekend and I was black. I thought what little you have left had gone gray.
  18. It was 1978 when I first made $19k. Yep, either that geezer can't remember what he made, or he didn't get that BS degree/job until he was in his 30's (assuming in mid 60's now) 1976, best starting BEE salary I know of was $15k, typical about $13.5k. 1977, fresh MSEE salaries were in the $17.2-$18k range. Three years later, it was more like $24k.
  19. Maybe someone else opened a new one in your name...
  20. Hyperbole, perhaps? One or two? I doubt that as few as "3/4" of the Lodi skydivers are USPA members.
  21. I'm not sure you can say that Hannity "stole millions from the children of dead soldiers," but he did misrepresent how much of the concert funds actually went to scholarships -- seems to be in the range of 20-25%. Doesn't sound like "100%" to me. http://www.citizensforethics.org/files/20100329%20-%20HannityFTC%20-%20Complaint%20and%20Exhibits.pdf http://www.citizensforethics.org/files/20100329%20-%20HannityFTC%20-%20Citations.pdf
  22. I, too, protest at the insidious increase of fees of all types. http://www.flickr.com/photos/pargon/4468904749/in/set-72157623594187379/
