Sometimes I listen to that track on the way to work. Somehow it makes my job seem better.
-
Go rent it now!! It is basically about working in a cube farm and the typical nomadic/apartment lifestyle that most of us live. It is freaking hilarious for anyone that has worked in any large company, particularly in IT. The story tells of Peter Gibbons a software engine that wants a better way and hates his job. Follow Peter's exploits as he ignores the Man, watches kung fu and gets the girl. But he ends up missing a lot of work. Well, i would say I have been it missing Bob.

Molson, ehh? Did you get free beer, ehh? Oops, wrong movie. I used to have a desk and I could see out the window and watch the squirrels and they were married.....and I could set the building on fire....

This is not really related to skydiving, except a decent number of us seem to work in IT. I just saw the recent comments in the 3-way thread referring to Office Space. How many people here have not seen it? It is one of my favorite movies ever and absolutely a manifesto if you work in IT. Seems like every sentence in the movie is humorous if you think about it. Anyway, it is Monday, and I was thinking about Office Space and laughing my ass off. Plus it was on last night...so share your thoughts :) Yeah....I am doing the drywall up there at the new McDonald's...

First time you have ever been on a poll? That is BEEEEEERR!

phree, Do you know anything more about gliders being taken to terminal, any details? I am thinking about trying paragliding, I really want to, but everything I had heard was about catching thermals or towing. The idea of exiting at altitude interests me much more. I really like the idea of that...although I wonder what they pack it in. As for this idea, I would love to see pictures, the only thing I recommend is maybe examining the aerodynamic differences between glider and parachutes. I am not very versed in aerodynamics, but that might make a big difference, or big enough to effect you as your jump is only 1 or 2 seconds long. Malachi

Actually, to be real honest, I just through out the whole TLD thing to see if someone would ask...What is that?
-
Someone devoted a whole TLD to that? Malachi

First your left, then your right, your body will follow. It's called walking.

So Dave calls me and goes. Okay, listen to this....we start two companies and take out an ad.....

Dave, I had forgotten all about that. That brings back memories. I think Iam gonna start riding again this fall. Sounds really good. There is a bad ass single track-stick-your -head-out-and-hit-a-tree section at Cleburne state park. malachi

Actually in all honesty, you would not believe how many problems that fixes. Most operating systems have memory leaks and other problems that need a reboot to cure them. And most hardware problems definitely do. A lot of people get annoyed at us for suggesting it, but we get annoyed at them for not trying it before they call. Especially if they 'knew' we were going to say that. A funny story on the note. Very shortly after I started jumping, I was waiting around at the DZ watching everything I could as a newbie, curious about everything. One of the camera fliers could not get his video camera to execute some function. Our DZO (who works in a tech related field) started looking at it. The camera flier walked away to do something. So, the DZO disconnected the battery and reconnected and the camera worked like a champ. So he gives it back to the camera flier who says, "What did you DO ??" The DZO replies, "Oh just a hard reboot."

Damn it. This means I have to give Clay some respect. Well I would never have guessed from his posts that he does Frame Relay, etc. Of course if he works for the telco, that limits the respect I will give, but still. Kinda nice to know we have at least one skydiver helping admin that pesky frame cloud

Yes he was in Children of the Corn. Default answers when someone hears my name: 1. What? 2. Hey wasn't he in Children of the Corn? 3. Is that Hawaiian? ( actually found out there is a Hawaiian version spelled differently) 4. Cool name 5. Were your parents hippies? 6. Aren't you on Team Funnelcake? And yes Dave I know how easy it is to find weird crap when you have a state-funded LAN and don't want to study. But still that has no conceivable link to anything normal that I can think of. But then again...I guess I have come up with weird sites too. Malachi

He must like you. I never get 2K Malachi

I am laughing my ass off. This is proof you have jumped with Dave. The real key here for those that are confused is the angle of track. You have to track at different angle, thus slightly different altitudes, so you fly above and below each other. You do a front loop through the burble and go on tracking. On video is looks almost as good as synchronized swimming.

Not sure what you mean, but I am not seeing any mirror image. Maybe a different point of view, but no mirror. WHat pic are you talking about? I think you are talking about the part where the top 'tower' of the bridge seems to shift sides. It is not mirror image, the point of view simply shifts to the other side of the bridge. The tower looks like it shifted in relation to the bottom half of the bridge, but it is all perspective. Proof: look at the little platform, jutting out on the right side of the tower. It is in the same place in all photos. And slappie, if you find that send it over. Just the comment about the prairie dog had me laughing. Malachi

Dave, My entire cube farm wants to know how you found that and why don't you have anything better to do? Malachi

So what now I am accociated with Rodeo?

I would, but I cannot find her page address anywhere

Exactly what kind of drink are blowjobs, unless of course you are being literal, then I know. Of course, not sure if you can really call that a drink? maybe, I guess.

Little smartass. I can never remember how to type quote

I just meant that malfunction could be more high speed in freeflying or the people around you might be approaching faster. I don't know, it just made sense to me.

I know I am about to start a flame war. But I am pretty new to freeflying and want your opinions. I have about 125 jumps, most of which have been belly to earth. Well, now for various reasons, I plan on putting most of my time into freeflying, eventually to evolve into just plain 'flying' in all attitiudes. Anyway, I would like to learn whatever I can so: a) what books would you recommend to read? (I already saw Zennie's comment on The Art of vRW) b) what are the thoughts about RSL? I have been seriously considering removing mine anyway. Now that I am freeflying, I am thinking more about it. Malachi

What is your favorite freefly container and why?
flyingferret replied to FreeflyGoat's topic in Freeflying
I preface this by saying, that I am just learning to freefly. But I love my Talon 2. It is very comfortable, and it has tuck tabs everywhere, riser cover, pin, reserve pin, BOC cover. And it is very comfortable. Mine also has b-12 snaps, so it is always easy to get the leg straps on and off. I bought it used with about 100 jumps on it, and I have been very pleased with it since. I have had one premature, when I started sitflying, but I think that was my fault, I did not stuff the bridle under the right flap enough. Malachi
