  1. Maybe a DNS problem or something, works fine for me: http://www.arrowdynamicsinc.com/
  2. */dusting of the cinders and donning nomex flight suit/* Geez, somebody is serious. Sorry Ann, but I think you are taking this way too serious. Nobody is talking about a huge-way. We are talking about besting a 10-way (by their own rules). As for my post, read it entirely. I never said anything about taking the camera on the dive. What I was referring to, if you read the above post is that by doing working camera dives, I will be enhancing my flying skills. So yeah, I think I can participate in a 10 or 15-way. Slot-prefect, not now. But by then, maybe. So thanks for your concern, but I think my first post illustrates that I am concerned about safety and not 'out of my flipping mind' enough to endanger anyone. Slappie -- I am still in. Malachi
  3. Dude, I am in. I just bought a camera, my new job is finally becoming profitable, my cash flow is going positive. So, I am gonna try and get my jump numbers and be filming tandems this summer. Fun jumps, I am all about freefly, but camera work will take belly too. So, I am practicing for the eventually point of just....flying....in any attitude. So, yeah by that time, I just be into the swing of the season, I am definitely in. Malachi
  4. Slappie, Sounds good. But.....and I hate to bring this back up after the whole post war last time. Things had better extremely planned out if you are planning a multiplane formation. I am not sure if that is what you are thinking, or you were just mentioning there would be enough planes, we could have our own. Because, even if I disagree about the slot-perfect issue, multi-plane load get very busy. And I for one, am doubtful if my skill is adequate for that. Malachi
  5. Thanks I will recheck it, I guess I have not been there in too long. malachi
  6. Okay, then where did both of you get it?
  7. You run video cards with a multihead adapter. We have a lot here are work that run 4 monitors off one card. They cost about $800 I think. We use ours for network monitoring stations (although most of those use KVM switches or Raritan terminals to view multiple machines) or for watching financial real time trading apps. Lummy, that is an awesome pic, where did you get it? Malachi
  8. Here is mine, nothing special, but okay. I kinda wish I could have all kinds of cool windows open. But this is work. And everything is either just normal, or a security risk. SO.... Malachi
  9. Another nice shirt.......now more than ever...where is the any key???
  10. Well, I kinda like the idea of composite anyway, because less snagging, more smooth design. I really want a Batrack if I can just find one cheap, I would be all over it. But jeez they are more than $400. And I am not sure if I chould be spending that kinda of money. I mean I want to....but....damn. Malachi
  11. Yes, grasshopper-son, I have thought of all these. But, the problem is how. I think I could do the fiberglass resin thing...it can't be that hard right? I would just have to make a replica of the curve of the helmet and then base my mold off that. I am not opposed to mounting it on my pro-tec, except being a half-shell, it would be really wobbly. The metal bracket idea is not a bad route, but I don't have the metal or the tools. Plus, I dont want it looking like a flamed-out bug engine compartment in front of CiCi's. LOL Yes, I rememeber. And I don't trust my self, and sure as hell not you, with metal working. I mean, hell, look what you did to your dad's dremel
  12. Dude......I have to find mine. I have never watched it.
  13. I have a little bit more advice to ask. I did get my PC-1 on the auction for a final price of $700. So, now I am faced with either buying a new helmet or attempting to mount it on my Hurricane. Well, I am kinda low on funds, so I thought I would try and mount it on the Hurricane. The Hurricane's sides are not really flat, so mounting on the side would be a chore. There is a side mount adapter for a velocity I think I could make work. But after reading everything here, I am thinking maybe top mount is best anyway. So, I want to make a platform for the top of my helmet, kinda like the ones you see on camera helmets with round tops -- like a /'''''''''\ shape. What are thoughts on this? Get someone to make it out of metal? Make it myself out of fiberglass epoxy? Any ideas or advice would be useful. The camera is a PC-1, and later I might add a still camera. Malachi
  14. Dave, if you do end up putting it off, I will 'probably' be jumping at EF next weekend and then 2 weeks after that. Since I have a camera and all. Also, check out the EF message board....Cessna Boogie in may...4 cessnas :)
  15. Thanks for the advice. That is exactly how I see it. I probably did not word it right earlier since I was in a hurry. My plan is to start filming fun jumps first. Then after I feel very comfortable doing that, consider occasionally lurking tandems unpaid, so I dont feel pressured to be in a place I am unsure of. Then after that, actually 'do it for real.' And I could probably use more work on body position, but I think in a way, starting to fly camera is the best answer. The once time I did fly camera, I was interested in the frame, and let my body fly itself. In that type of situation, I flew much better than I thought. Kinda like hockey, once you start deeking, you dont realize you are skating. Thanks for the advice. Malachi
  16. It comes with 2 batteries. As for mounting, I am not sure yet, probably would prefer a d-box., but am not picky. I was not planning on buying one for another month or two, but when this deal came along, I decided I really wanted it
  17. DAMN it, all the cam guys must be working, I am not getting any responses.
  18. I might have a cam by then. Maybe. Also, where did you get your sig?
  19. No, just moving it in the yard so the city will not gripe. Yeah, about 9 guys from Penson will be doing tandems on the 23rd of march...is that at all close to Spring Break? I will definitely be there then, but can be there any other time too.
  20. Dude, I wish I could. I have to go home this Sat. morning and move the VW bus, the city is bitching about it apparently. I might be able to do it after that, but not likely. Sometime soon though I need a College Station trip.
  21. This is kinda selfish, but go look at this post if you have camera experience, I need some input before 8pm!!!! http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forums/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=forumphoto&Number=99781&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=0&part= Malachi
  22. I have what looks to be a good deal on a PC1. But the camera is old enough I cannot find any specs on it. I have under 200 jumps and I have only flown camera once, I am not going for the all out best camera. I want to fly for fun and to learn, and mybe pick up tandem videos occasionally on the weekend. So, does anyone have experience shooting with a PC1? Is there anything in a PC9 or 110 that I really need over a PC1? I have attached a text file with the specs the seller claims a PC1 has, I cannot find them on sony's site any longer. by good deal, I mean the bid is at 560 with 8 hours left. Malachi
  23. Dude, you should be in Dallas, we have a 7 degree temp after windchill.
  24. AAHHHHH...someone reads /. AHHHHHHH
  25. Well word is that they based the movie on the TI in Dallas. I have no proof of that. But I think Mike Judge lived in Dallas at one time and the Dallas TI has a Friday's right across the street. As for the xerox, I filmed a reenactment of that as an easter egg for a multimedia CD presentation we did for a class project my senior year. I would up load it, but it is high-quality...about 80megs. Maybe I can find somewhere to stick in on the web. I gotta go, I have a meeting with the Bobs. (seriously)
