  1. Anyone have an idea for the source of this pic? http://www.skydiveaz.com/imagesbody/IMG_6645.jpg Maybe an higher res version. It looks badass. I want to show it to someone -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  2. I was watching Back The Future III last night, and someone brought it to my attention that AggieDave really looks like Biff Tannen. I started looking at pics, and you know, she really has a point. What do you all think? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  3. $17K? Where are you buying one, I want 3. Mine was $20K (21,400 with TTL). -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  4. That just isn't the complete picture. I hesitate to respond because think this thread is past productive. There are very very many companies with strict policies, that are often not enforced, they are simply in the policy, in case they ever need to be. Sometimes firing can be a knee jerk reaction, that can be justified by one of the policies mentioned above. That is a thin, but significant, logical difference from saying that is the reason for firing. Rather, it is the reason for justification. Somone outside of PK's company raised a complaint to PK's company that inspired fear of a smudged name, the knee jerk hit Kevin. That does not mean that all his posts were from work, or that they were controversial. Unfortunately in a litigatious society, the suggestion of impropriety accomplishes the same results as a proven offense. This is the same reason why there is a disclaimer like skymama mentioned, because dropzone.com does not want to assume liability for suggestions. Legally, that is just the way the balls fall. Unfortunately, the company did not value Kevin enough to get his view, etc. Maybe he has a case, maybe he doesn't , but wisely he is not discussing it here. So....the rest is speculation. The one and only question to the community is how we handle it? I suspect we don't have a proven name at this point, which is probably good until legal options are all sorted. At the time we do, I think one of two things will happen, there are reasons for both, neither wrong or right persay. 1. Action will be taken against this person from a membership level. This will make everyone a bit more reassured. But it does nothing to guarantee it does not happen again, and it does nothing to guarantee someone does not rejoin with different information. 2. Action is not taken against the person. Everyone feels a bit jaded and angered. On a personal level, someone will probably find the person's identity and produce unfriendly vibes for them among jumpers. In either case, dropzone.com loses some innocence. That is just part of it, it happens every to every internet forum. Maybe it will a bit of a wakeup call to some of the users and what they choose to give importance. I assure you for people like AD, myself, Ivan, and other net geeks, this is pretty standard forum BS. This is a bit far admittedly, but then this community has gone a bit far about being open. Scan the user logs sometimes, and the troll posts. You really think all those people are skydivers? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  5. I don't have time for a full lean/rich explanation. But basically, you have just adjusted the air curve of your bike by adding pipes. You want your fuel curve to match your air curve as much as possible. Otherwise, you end up with lean spots and rich spots on the curve. I would speculate, that without adjustment, you are now lean in most of the curve. 2-into-1 move large amounts of air. By running lean you will run hot. In fact, if in doubt it is better to run a little rich than too lean. So....you could ride, but I would not recommend it for long, and I would watch your temp closely. On a side note, I highly recommend the power commander, and they have a stock map for 2into1 with SE air intake. You can also tweak any existing map you like. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

  11. And scotch tape is really clear cellophane tape. Webster's lists them as synonyms. For more details, here is an article with some details after people wrote in to a canadian newspaper with some whining about usage. http://www.cbc.ca/news/indepth/words/flagflap.html -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  12. This is actually really complex and touchy from a lot of angles. I have not read every single post, because I am at work, a bit of irony. This is actually a huge up and coming issue for this decade: the definition of work, Intel. Prop., etc. Work is becoming an activity, not a place. Employers will be measure, by whether they share time at their location with the same generousity with which you share time offsite. It is just time I suppose that it is coming home to dropzone. People have gotten FBI visits within 24 hours based on posts in other forums on the net, so don't assume that content cannot be noticed. For this reason, it gets VERY VERY sticky for forum moderators and owners. The MUST for personal liability disclaim ownership of the actions in a forum. Because, if they do not...for example if they get to involved with a case of abuse. The next one that gets by without action will warrant liability to the forum owner. Now that is a summarized version, but this battle is being fought by ISPs and forums owners everywhere right now, who are desperately trying to maintain status as a conduit, so they do become liable for copyright, indecency, etc. For those reasons, I am sure HH is evaluating options. And for anyone involved, including mods and definitely PhillyKev, silence is the best policy right now. Why would you argue about it, at the scene of the crime? Best of luck to PhillyKev, there will be more cases like this. Our generation will be judged by who we handle incomplete information that is assumed to be impartial. Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past. George Orwell -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  13. Well I have no idea, I wish him the best with a lawsuit, and I am no lawyer. Was just commenting that under my experience, a company can mandate in the policy when you sign to become an employee that their equipment is to be used for no personal use. IN my last job, it was used as means for dismissal. Most people violated it and as long as you did not put a bullseye on, you were never measured by it. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  14. Yeah, but all kinds of loopholes, it will all depend on the Employee Policy. Typically, corporations over write them, and then don't enforce them. Then when they want to, it is in writing. My old place of employment, Penatrode, has a clause about all personal use on company computer hardware, etc. If they have such a clause, the letter is not the reason, they will claim, it just caused them to evaluate the usage. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  15. Yeah, also just thought....uh, we might want to think about editting our profiles. Info for jumpers might nto be such a great idea actually -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  16. Actually it has nothing to do with that in my opinion Two words: "Personal Attack" We are always living in fear of them, and people often claim them in arguments. Well, this is pretty much the ultimate personal attack, it should be treated as such. For crying out loud, who will this person write next? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  17. Agreed, that is absolutely ridiculous. Free speech is one thing, taking it into a workplace out of malicious contempt is ridiculous. I would certainly hope something is done about it here. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  18. Yeah, it would be really hard to get on the wave. He could not come in from the landward side...and I dont see how he could catch it from the seeward side. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

  22. That is like saying "Yeah, but that was not yoru best skydive." Everyone has opinions, they are subjective. Some people think that movies about realization are great. 24. Dont know about Scott Braff, but Zach Braff was awesome. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  25. I loved it! I need to buy it. For Braff to have written, directed, and starred in his first flick, I think it is phenomenal. That's 'all' huh? Hmmm.... More than a few movies have been directed at that simple idea, and I think this once clinched for the current generation much better than most. I think it speaks loads about acceptance, belief, and faith in others and in life. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
