You know what's pathetic? I jump @ Orange and I never realized that T2 (pronounced T-squared) was "Unfeathered!" WOW...I'm slow. I bought a used Z-1 last summer & I love it. It's the older one w/ the metal studs instead of the plastic. I jumped at Orange on Sunday...it definately makes the cold more bearable. However, it fogged up on me for the 1st time! I was able to open the visor the first jump. The 2nd jump my fingers couldn't feel the little button & I practically landed blind! Well, I was able to see from a inch clearing at the top of the visor!!!!!! Enjoy your helmet. Get out & JUMP! **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

Marianna, what did you end up getting? Any other options? I ordered mine w/ the quilt backpad & the collapsable pc w/ hacky. I ordered in Navy blue & burgendy. Roy told me I had to the end of the week to change my colors (might go w/ Royal blue & Red). **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

I got 2 jumps @ SD Orange (VA)! Beautiful blue sky...@ 32 degrees on the ground! 1st jump was not bad...the 2nd jump after having to go AROUND, I froze my @$$ off! My finger nails were in pain by the time I landed. The day ended w/ MUCH beer & crashed out at the DZ. Not bad for a Sunday in December. **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

Look around for used canopies. I got a used Hornet w/ 40 jumps from SkyKat for $675 & a cypress (expert w/ '97 DOM) for 400 from an online classified. I know I keep bringing these guys up in most of my posts, but try giving Rigs & Things & speak w/ Roy. They have the Wings container on sale in Dec for $840 (or $931 w/ articulated harness)...He might extend you the same price this week since it's so close. I just put my order in yesterday to beat the dead line. Check the GEAR section on this site..99% of the things written on the wings is positive. The only negative is about the res. pc not firing as far out as other containers, but they fixed the problem. Besides, it's still TSO'ed and meet/exceeds all the standards put on the industry as a whole. Just my 2 cents...oh, the wait is around 4-5 wks now vs. Javelin's 8-12 wks. Come to think of it...Every first jump of the day, when I put on my helmet (Z-1 as we are taxiing off, I can smell the musty jet fuel scent (inside the helmet)...I always get a HUGE grin on my face. Good point & I probably shouldn't have done it, but it seemed harmless at the time. I should have clarified my earlier post a little better...I guess my wife is right, I do need to work on my communication skills! No goof balls...I'm talking about a day time (non-drowsy) formula like sutafed, comptrex, or Motrin sinus/headache. I'm stubborn and rarely take meds...so my body is sensitive to them and work for me! :o) **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

I did it last weekend! I took a nasal decongestant to dry up my sinus...it worked, but it still took me 4 hours for my ears to pop. If you are going to do it...make sure u take sinus/head cold meds far ahead in time. Or if you are smarter than I am, wait 'til you feel better.! :-) **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

While demo'ing canopies, give the Hornet (PISA) a try. It's semi-eliptical shaped, ZP. It's not as aggressive on the front risers as the new Saber-II, but fly's very similar otherwise. They are cheap (price wise) in case this is a transition canopy for you. Try a 190 & 170 and have someone watch you. They sell new around $910 on sale. Do yourself a favor, get a little more experience under your belt before going to a cobalt (right now, that's my dream canopy) or other eliptical mains. The thing to consider is not whether or not you will be able to land it on a clear DZ, but in a tight back yard during an emergency. DUCKY & FREAKSISTER! Just entertaining Ducky's request & letting you know that it's 2:25 AM & I just finished his ramble about family values...I DON'T HAVE LIFE! There...I said it...happy? Seriously, I'm glad things are going well w/ you and your family. I think it's an age thing...when I was 18, I didn't get a long much w/ my parents (I respected them, but we weren't that close). I'm 26 (going on 12) now and never been closer! Who knew. I've been wearing my New Ballance running shoes...but I got excited yesterday and bought a pair of skateboarding shoes (something to wear around the DZ). I've decided on a Wings container. Everything I've read about them is positive...there were a few old spring loaded PC's that were a little weak...but all other riggers I've spoken w/ said they work fine. I'm in the process of getting my 1st rig. I decided to buy a new Wings & used main/reserve & a used cypress. www.para-service.com has the wings container @ 30% off this month...I'm getting the container w/ an articulated harness for $930 (or $840 w/out the hip rings)...for something that's new, safe, up-to-date, custom made, and freefly friendly...can't beat that price w/ only a 4-5 wk wait (now)! I got a used Hornet & I'm looking for tempo-170 reserve. Make sure to talk to others around your DZ & ask your instructors/JM's. **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

Who ever told you that you should know how to do it off student status is smoking CRACK! I went through the new ISP and I have around 50 jumps and didn't know how. I just swaped out my main last weekend. Get one of the experienced jumpers at your DZ to give you a hand...then get a rigger to inspect the work to make sure the lines are straight/untangled and that the canopy is not on backwards (it can happen). That's what I did...all they asked for in return was a soda! To be honest, it's not hard once you see it a few times, but you have to be patient and do it step by step (line by line) and ALWAYS get a rigger to inspect your work.
