Yeah, during OCS u won't have much/any time for yourself! Although, u do get 24 hr liberty on certain wkends. I spent mine sleeping or doing laundry (in '99)...but that was before I started skydiving! Either way, it would cool to jump w/ u or just meet u....just don't bring any of Clay's pet gerbils! I'm still looking for info on different MOS' for you. If u have any other questions about OCS/TBS or the Marine Corps in general, let me know. Semper Fi leatherneck! **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

While it's true, some turn to drugs for kicks...however, the ones w/ problems resort to drugs to self medicate themselves because of unfulfilled emotional needs. Trying to get something that all the money is not giving them & never will...like emotional support & acceptance. On a different note, instead of being sheltered while growing up, parents should let their children see the world for what it is (granted at appropriate ages) & be supportive & show they care...even by sincerely asking a simple question like "how was your day." Most of my friends that are very successful & great to be around grew up in middle class household & some from down right poor...those are the ones (not always) that realize what opportunities there are in the world and seek higher goals to better themselves & their surrounding. IMHO...which reminds me...I need to mail out my $300 check for my school loan (yes, psychology)! LOL **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

Hey, there is nothing wrong w/ doing a tandem. I plan on celebrating my 100 jump by becoming a passenger for once! :o) Seriously, I think the idea of you doing Tandem is a great idea. I'll probably get flamed for just thinking about this...but here it goes! :o) I was wondering how accurate & reliable a cypress remains if one goes past the prescribed 4 yr maint...say w/ in a yr or so (I realize Airtec gives it +/- 3 months). Aggie...there will be non of that "love, peace & happiness" in my beloved Marine Corps & definitely not in uniform! Oh what the hell...come on to SD Orange, we'll greet u w/ a hug (& a beer)! When you make it up to Quantico for OCS & TBS...look them up. They are a GREAT bunch that know how to party...then there are the occassional nude jumps! I'm all for it. I like the idea of shortsleave t-shirt...keeps costs down. And whoever decides to become the vendor, they can plug in their own logo somewhere! Have you seen the pic of a space shuttle w/ the planet "earth" in the background and skydivers & parachutes coming down! That would be cool...since this is "world" wide! Just my 2 cents. Technically, it was not a full year for me; since I started my AFF in May! I got 46 in before the year ended. My short term goal was to have 50 & a B license before the end of the year...but it's ok, it's a NEW YEAR! Instead of worrying about the number of jumps, I'm now concentrating on the quality of my dive flow & learning new positions & maneuvers. :o) Lisa, I hope your back feels better now & that you fully recover soon. **I'm a Pschydiver! Could be worse, you could be my friend (in the Marine Corps) who has a Masters in Computer Sci. He was assigned Logistics....and my friend the accounting major is now in the infantry! As for me, I lucked out...can't tell u...I'd have to shoot u! :o) Don't worry about spelling, that's what spell check is for... my 3rd grade English teacher warned me about that...thank god her prophecy became true! **I'm a Pschydiver! "Cutaway!" Nope never heard of it...I deny any accusations of having seen it 8 times so far! :o) The movie could have been much worse, but it's still fun to watch during the cold season on a wkday when you REEEAAAALLLLY want to jump. They could have spiced it up w/ more freeflying & booby shots...oooh, or how about nude jumps! IMHO of course. **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

Usually, the only time I feel nerous is when they first open the door & I'm sitting next to it on the ride up! As for the go-around, you're body was most likely reacting & getting ready for the jump w/ the adrenaline, heart/respiration increase...which at times go less noticed in freefall...but when you sit down and try to relax...you're body is still sensing that natural "fight or flight" sensation (pun not intended). **I'm a Pschydiver! Don't feel bad. I was asking everyone and their brother about color choices! Finally Canopycuddler came to the rescue! As for the PUD, I like it...but it's a personal choice. I also got the thread through leg straps. I'll get the snaps when I'm too old to lift my leg. Roy is doing the same thing for me; he's holding on to my order until I'm sure w/ my color selection!
