Just take it one jump at a time. Always keep your eyes & ears open to learn new things. Make sure to routinely go over your emergency procedure & attend your safety day @ your local DZ. Like anything else in life, it take a while to become an expert...and even then, you realize there is always more to learn. Browsing this site is a great opportunity to learn. Also, put your JM to use & always be safe. **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

I got to jump 3 more times...did my firssssss......"best" (successful) 2 way sit. Sunday came along and I replaced the shockes on my car & I love the way it rides again! With all this in mind...the truth of the matter is that I have to be up in 6 hours to start another week of work. To long for a clear sky weekend

jacques, I ordered my Wings container last month. I should have it by the end of this month. Like you, all I've heard GREAT things about the container. The only thing negative I've heard was about the PC spring (reserve), which as I found has been corrected. That was a problem w/ the old container. On another note, Roy from Rigs-n-things (www.para-service.com). I've also contaced Heather @ Sunrise Rigging...both have great customer service. I'll let you know how things turn out. **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

Hey Nathan. Welcome to VA! What area are you going to live in? My 2 favorite drop zones here are Skydive Orange which is close to DC & N. Va. Skydive Suffolk is the other and is located closer to VA Beach. Both have a great staff and a fun crowd you'll adopt as family. PM me if you have any questions. WOW...Great price! Are you sure it's not a price quote for a Tempo reserve? My DZ has Hornets in some of the student rigs. I started jumping the Hornet 190 after my 9th jump. After graduating from AFF I got a Hornet 170. The canopy is great & the price is just right. I've demo'ed the Saber 2, it flies very similar...the only difference is that you are able to swoop further & the canopy dives a slight steeper angle on the risers. For my level, the extra $$$ was not worth it...& I love my Hornet :-) **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

William, I'm not at Quantico anymore...I'm stationed out near VA Beach for Intel Officer school, but I have family in Fredericksburg...so, I'm still in/out of the area. What are you doing now since you've been recalled? The cool thing about being at Quantico you are about an hour away from SD Orange or Louisa. You'll love Orange! :-) **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

I've been in the Marine Corps a little under 8 years. I started out as a Private in the enlisted ranks & I recently earned my commission as a 2ndLt last spring. I have worked w/ all the services in the past few years; while I have much respect for all the services...I would NEVER trade my Eagle, Globe & Anchor for any other uniform! To simplify my reason...while other services have larger budgets ($$$) & better living conditions, the Marine Corps has the BEST overall LEADERSHIP around. I'm never at a loss to find a hero or a mentor to look up to. **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

Oh shut your mouths & stop bickering! Mike...be usefull & remove the piece of velcro off the flap of your rig! I feel like I'm in a bar standing btwn 2 drunk sailors telling a sea story! :-) Dave, I'm sorry to hear about you having to wait another year for OCS. So, will you get your commission directly from there? If you get a direct commission...that will be awesome...because you'll be in top shape for TBS. Overall, everyone was in shape...but the guys fresh from OCS were smoking us on the runs. While you may not be able to run a fast PFT, your build is better suited to going long distance w/ a pack on your back (I refer to your type as pack mules)! Guess what...you'll be smoking out the 300 PFT'ers @ TBS on the "Endurance Course" (also known as the yellow brick road). I used to consistantly get a 299 the first 2 years (back in '94). But those days are long gone. Luckily, my new command loves to run...so, I'll be back in the 285 range. If you have any questions or need anything from the Quantico area, let me know. Keep your goals & standards high, and you will never fall short. *Talk about a small Marine Corps! Right now, I'm serving in a Navy command...I ran into 3 Ensigns whose instructor @ OCS (Navy OCS) was my DRILL INSTRUCTOR @ PI back in '94! Thank god he wasn't @ OCS (in Quantico) in 1999...I don't know if he would have had any mercy on my soul! Blue Sky & Semper Fi, **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi

I don't know what term to use for this movie. While the movie may not be accurate, it's factual & truthful (w/ a twist). The director had to take the ALL the different people in the book w/ their individual stories & compressed the stories into a few characters. If he didn't, he would have lost the attention of the average viewer. We must keep in mind that Holywood is in the business of making movies, not documentaries. As for the few bad apples/soldiers, you can not re-write history & delete them because of mistakes they have made later. I don't think the later should be covered up either. If you have never read the book...do yourself a favor...it's a GREAT book! It will keep you at the edge of your seat. Having said that, I HATE reading! **I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi
