  5. Thanks for the input guys. Vol II is on the way. And I've been printing out all the owners manuals for the most popular containers. So I got Javelin, Wings and Vector 3 so far. Plenty more to go.... I feel like a blind dog in a meat market sucking up all this info Scars remind us that the past is real
  6. Timely post as I was just about to ask a question related to this.... I've been told several times eye contact a key factor in world class skydiving. But - I am paranoid about my eyes - my family all have blue eyes and have all been hit by cancer. So I am anal about wearing sunglasses anytime I'm outside. I wear a pair under my oxygn when jumping. Kinda puts the kiabosh on eye contact. Does anyone know if you can get a clear UV blocking visor for the Oxygn? Jump Scars remind us that the past is real
  7. reverse for me... my parents got me thoroughly knackered one night drinking willie.... ooof...I saw stars that night... think I even touched a few. Then there was the new years eve in germany my aunt and I drank 7 bottles of chamPAIN. all of this before 21 mind you... Scars remind us that the past is real

  11. Okay, its no secret, I like rocks, I've studied rocks all my life. I live in Arizona - mostly desert where water is scarce... So I'm walking along this morning and I see a guy watering rocks. Thats right, he is watering the rocks. I come back by an hour later - he's STILL watering the rocks!! I gonna check back by next week to see if the rocks grew any at all. If not, I'll suggest he put miracle gro in the water. Jump Scars remind us that the past is real
  12. well - for the job they want done, there are really only two companies out there who can do it - Haliburton and Schlumberger. Schlumberger is a French concern. Who you think they are going to pick? Or better yet, come up with another US company that can tackle the job. Jump Scars remind us that the past is real
  13. Not so sure I agree with that. I grew up with Hoover Democrats preaching about evil republicans all my life in NC. Now, all I hear there and all across the south is how Bush is the saviour of the US. I've heard the comment many times - "it'll be a cold day in hell before I vote for a democrat again" If Kerry gets the Dem nomination - then Bush gets my vote - the lesser of the two evils in my opinion. What I would give for another choice though.... Scars remind us that the past is real

  18. It was a joke, get over it. Honestly a perp with a knife is scarier then a perp with a gun. Know why? Perps don't usually practive shooting, but any moron can cut you. yeah, but if you know he got a knife - he don't know how to use it - you can take him aggie. 22. Air-Naval Gunnery LIason COmpany. They go in all sneaky sneaky and say shoot here- shoot there - don't drop a bomb here - drop a bomb there. Were disbanded for awhile but I heard they had just reformed a company. Any truth to that guys? Jump Scars remind us that the past is real
  23. Thats why I really liked our rigger at Jumptown. We would pull the cutaway and ripcord as if going through emergency procedures when our repack time came around. Jump Scars remind us that the past is real
  24. Got a conundrum I'd like to get some input on - Sister got me a $50 para-gear gift certificate for xmas. I'm planning on going to USAPR sometime late this year or early next year and have decided to get the books I need. So $50 will get one of the Poynter Parachute manuals- which one first? The 2nd vol. covers Ram air more thoroughly I gather and I feel would be most relevant. However, I think the 1st vol. covers tools and such. So, if you didn't have either and had $50 to burn - which would you get right now? Keep in mind in a few months, this will be a moot point - I just don't know which would be the best to start with. Thanks for any input. Jump Scars remind us that the past is real
  25. Speaking of "Army of One"... I can't remember where this was from - I think from Leatherneck a few years ago but it was funny as shit.... I agree with the rest though...get rid of the beret - if you didn't earn it, don't wear it. Scars remind us that the past is real
