  1. I've been there. Didn't get a ticket for it though, I had a screwdriver with me and agreed to take them off.
  2. ACME pulled a random comment about my birthday out of a thread and started another thread about it, which I appreciated... ...especially since I was at work until 1:30am that night
  3. Due to time constraints and other projects the idea didn't go very far and I ended up making a tank battle game instead, but I started to write a 3d-freeflying fighting game (a la Killer Instinct, Virtua Fighter, Tekken) in C++/OpenGL for my graphics class. some concepts that were to be implemented... -rounds are 60 seconds long and the timer is in altitude. fighting begins on the hill immediately after exit. -would use/expand on combo system found in fighting games. -as real of a physics engine as I can manage, I don't want it to just be another fighting game with everyone upside down on the screen. body movements should be realistic to perform the actions. -transitions from sit/straddle/daffy could be performed, sitfly might be particularly defensive, whereas headdown would be more offensive an orientation, and certain moves/combos could only be started from particular positions. -when your life meter is run all the way down, you cork out and lose the match. feel free to steal this idea, I might pick the idea back up again, but at the moment I'm kinda swamped with work, grad school, and real skydiving. /edited to add: I could also have arenas corrisponding to popular dropzones with specific aircraft/paint schemes as well as arial photos as ground textures...
  4. I'll need a scalpel, about 1000ft of really small plastic tubing, and a roll of duct tape... ...oh, and your signiture right here...
  5. Photos!?! You mean now I have to smile?
  6. It's a show... ... ...based on an airport.
  7. a completely blank white long sleeve t-shirt and a black mirage G3. I can't guarantee the involvement of pants...
  8. I can also say nothing but good about JL products. I built and installed a slot vented box with two JL 10W7s running off of one JL 1000/1 amp for a friend during one of my summers home from college. you could see the walls and roof of his van bow. Personally, I have a Kicker CompVR 10" in a 1.0ft^3 sealed enclosure which I am feeding 300W rms at 2Ù. A little more subtle, but hard to beat the performance for the size and cost.
  9. yeah, my ring finger is a hair longer than my index finger. "champu" is lower-case, thank you.
  10. "of course I've bought some dumb stuff too..."

  14. or if the taste isn't for you, just whine and cry a lot.
  15. I will not be participating in the 10-way at nationals with Elsinore Zehn
  16. Better yet, get a job that pays for your school, then when you're at work and have some down time, do your assignments and watch the lectures you've missed online while you get paid... ...this is how grad school is supposed to be.
  17. clicks... reads... prints... folds up... places in pocket... looks left... looks right... ...darts out of room...

if you actually think we're listening...
  19. There's a time and a place for everything, but for something as intestinal streching as beans...a DZ is -not- one of them! emphasis added Magnetrons, S-band microwave radiation, dielectric heating.... all a bunch of hogwash. Shorter wavelength radiation up in the Ka/Q-band tuned to the resonant frequency of water molecules should still heat food and be able to penetrate completely through just about anything you'd stick in a microwave. You'd prolly have to get rid of the glass door on the front cause the shorter wavelength waves would be more adept at passing through smaller meshes, but who cares if your burrito only has to be out of sight for a couple seconds? /edited cause I broke the reply tags
  20. Chili-Party at Archway. nothing says fun like caravan jumps in december in illinois, followed by a chili cook-off.
  21. Has anyone else ever noticed that almost all recommended microwave times are multiples of 15 seconds? I don't see why the obvious solution hasn't been seen all this time. I demand a microwave oven that is 15 times as powerful as current models. a minute and a half for oatmeal? more like an eternity and a half, am I right? 3 minutes for soup? screw that. I want it in 12 seconds.
