  1. i said right in post i do not like rsl's. im a skydiver not a journalist i dont have to be 100% un biased to take a poll. i thought it was pretty fair, 2 answers pro rsl's 2 answers anti rsl's sounds balanced to me. o well cant please everyone. p.s. "the silent killer" was qouted by bill booth some people claim he knows a thing or two about gear. anyway blueskies and fun dives >
  2. that sums it up perfectly. wasnt able to put that into words last night without sounding careless. im respectful of my gear (it saves my ass regularly) but i dont freak out if it gets bumped or shoved. i do a quick inspection after each packjob. these rigs are pretty damn tough im often surprised how good most rigs look after 1000 jumps or more. have faith in your rig other wise why the hell would you jump out of a plane. >
  3. no dude your being real picky. the difference is answer 3 implies i dont want one. answer 4 implies i think they're dangerous. . >
  4. im sure this polls been done before, but it always makes for great debate. theres alot of points for and against so lets hear them. personaly i dont have or want one . >
  5. if you dont laugh you a@# off theres something wrong with you. Will Farrell, and Vince Vaughn are hysterical rent it toinght! >
  6. im pushing 400 skydives done night jumps, water training and taken my written test for my b and c . why do i have only an a liscense? cuz who gives a sh@# what letter your uspa card has on it. it dont make you a better skydiver especialy with the insanly low jump requirments. theres many C and D holders you wouldnt catch me in the air with. i guess i like my little A as a quiet protest. until i need my D im proud to be A-41778 . >
  7. im a pretty packer. i gotten to a ten min pack job without sacraficing cleaness. the main things i worry about 1.clear line sets 2.flake the nose. 3.even tight line stows (very important). 4. tight closing loop. keep this in mind the parachute wants to open dont go too nuts going back over an over things while packing too much. rigs are'nt fragile eggs. have faith in your gear. >
  8. thanks for your info, it seems theres a good amount of people who know about microravens short stroke. im a little suprised im just learning about it now after 2 years in the sport. might be a good idea to inform new jumpers about this, it would have helped my freind on sun. i'l stick to my pd 126. though., >
  9. personaly id love to do an intentional cutaway. i have 375 jumps and its still the big unknown to me. i think it could only make me a better skydiver. im currently working on my riggers ticket. this has been great for me, i have 100% confidence in reserves now and am anxious to let one rip. is that wrong? >
  10. very informative thanks. jared loaded his reserve at 1.3. im not sure of ravens sizing but it had to be around a 130 sq/ft. he has around 700 jumps. so without actualy hooking up your micro raven as a main what do you suggest to prepare oneself? >
  11. gosh thats a tough call. i hate rules and regulation evrywhere you turn especialy in skydiving but im not to fond of going to funerals either. 375 jumps 1.4 wl >
  12. a very close freind of mine had a nasty malfunction involving a wingsuit. once he finaly was able to cut away his reserve, a microraven stalled upon flaring pounding him into the ground. f.y.i hes a very good canopy pilot. ive read alot of these cases im wondering whats up with this reserve? >
