    Quasar II

over the last 10 seasons i've been jumping many different rigs and 4 weeks ago I decided to order a new container: a quasar II rig arrived yesterday - upon assembling i once more admired the knowledge that went into this design. built for heavy use, sturdy material and nice design + fits like a glove combined with a more than reasonable price and extremely low delivery times: strongs quasar is the way to go!
  2. and that is some really good advice
  3. some usefull reading on strong systems can be found on their webpage if you know which IE you are going to take the course with, it shouldn't be too hard to get the complete material in advance.
  4. I think the real question runs like this: can we as a species exist and survive without a functioning eco-system that includes species we have decided on being usefull for our "needs"? the answer would be no. so we as a species have to protect our planet to the best of our abilities, even if this affects some of our "freedoms" can the planet survive without us? well it did pretty good for the last couple of million years... so to come back to your question: if we accept that we are just a part of the whole thing (contrary to the thought of putting ourselves on the top of evolution ) - our lives are not very important on a grand scale The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  5. I'm putting you in the "GO GO GO"-group of jumpers who get their panties wet when the green light comes on. looser The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

  8. I said if I remember correctly - when i made my tandem cert I got this analysis of all known tandem fatalities. by now i can't find this list, but I mailed the guy who collected the data. as soon as i get it i'll get back here
  9. yes it has, years down the road, if i remember correctly on a vector tandem. killed both - and that is where all the panic concerning passengers and handles originates from - imo of course The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  10. ...this discussion has deteriorated to the old "I'm right and you are wrong" between TI's sticking to "it's only a carnival ride" vs "I try to instruct" edit to add: each group has valid points. bottom line: one could agree to disagree The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  11. why should this be a contradiction? would you quit teaching body position just because one pax went fetal? The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  12. USA, bad year in europe. This website is becoming USADropzone.com more and more every day. please try to beore specific, there are 'MANY' people that read and contribute to these forums from other parts of the world, try to have respect and acknowledge that there is more to the world than the USA! thanks! fixed and you should know by now that for most posters there is no world outside of the usa 2010 - the year with a smile in every post
  13. if my gut feeling is right, we've had more fatalities in europe (though some of the were base-related like in switzerland) than in the usa - and that is quite troubling The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  14. happy new year to all you dz.com dorks
  15. so what do you suggest: that gear manufacturers move their businesses outside the u.s. and flip the bird on lawyers? The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  16. fuck full body scans - the best way would be to make every pax strip down, get a complete search including the private parts and then dress in one-way clothes provided by the airlines The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  17. Do what I did - buy your own plane. as much as i like most of what you post, this one is ridiculous BS. sorry. The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  18. with that there is no way to avoid full body scans - plus you're not allowed to get up one hour proir to landing, you mustn't have any items on your lap on no fiddling around with your hand luggage - flying is no fun anymore The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  19. some stuff on knee-flying from dale stuart - multiple champion in FS and a great source for many tricks The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  20. simple answer to a tricky question: it's to windy, when you are on final with a tandem and you're flying backwards just as fast as if it was a no wind day and you're moving forward as for jumping solo: well i guess it's the same not that i ever was in such a situation The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
