  1. See I knew it...this will catch on with all us cool kids and then before ya know it - everybody will have one! Don't fergit to flip it on.
  2. "...and on this day 40 years ago, hit the Powerball and held the only winning ticket, paying over a half billion dollars before taxes. The local businessman departed the next day and was never seen around these parts again. ~ Zephyrhills News, Community History Section, 18 May 2053."
  3. I think globalization brought oranges to Florida from Asia (indirectly) a few hundred years ago in the first place. The bugs are just now catching up with them.
  4. Nothing to worry about here. It's only Charlie. It seems that he's a nickel short for the landing fees.
  5. I remember when phones didn't have the "#" symbol on them. I remember when you had to stick your finger in a hole and move it around.
  6. Because their time is far too valuable to waste on biochemical research, pharmaceutical formulation, clinical trials and regulatory approval. Lawyer has a plumbing emergency and calls a plumber. Plumber spends a few hours fixing the problem and hands the lawyer a bill. Lawyer looks at the bill and says, "Holy crapola!! I'm a lawyer and I don't make that kind of money!" Plumber says, "I didn't make that kinda money when I was a lawyer either."
  7. Sometimes, when that happens, the jumper doesn't use the door.
  8. Most people don't know that back in 1912, Kraft mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost. The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise and eagerly awaited its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day. The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.
  9. I don't recall any chronic problems with off-heading openings. Mostly very snivelly openings with the more-than-occasional slammer. Seemed to be a little more difficult to get consistent openings than the 135 Sabre. (Actually, I never had any real problems with unusually hard openings on my Sabre.) But, again, mine may have had trim problems that might have exacerbated those kinds of problems. 9-cell.
  10. I've got 2-300 jumps on a 135. Basically a Sabre copy. Mine had a few hundred jumps on it when I got it. Quirky, unpredictable openings, but flew and landed OK. Might have been a little out of trim. Does that one have a Flight Concepts data panel? I thought they pre-dated Flight Concepts. I'm pretty sure mine is Glide-Path (without actually digging it out and looking at it).
  11. You'd think that he would have used the incantation "alalal.whatever.com" rather than require the name of his future rival to be invoked to open the dark gates to the virtual realm.
  12. Does your lawn service use only US citizens? Are you sure the people who do the work aren't undocumented workers? Have you bothered to verify that all of their employees have the legal right to work in the USA? Do they have workmens comp insurance? Did you check? Didn't think so. As an avowed Right Wing Conservative, why haven't you done any of this? edit (retracted comment) ---- oops! this ain't SC ...Sorry.
  13. Thanks! Google Translate is not very helpful with some of the more exotic dialects.
  14. Gotta hand it to the rear floater hanging on by only his right hand; He must have a helluva grip! How about that "front floater" hanging on by one hand in the picture below the video.
  15. This video was way before my time. Unfortunately, this was already a dying skill before I started jumping.
  16. I have a fair number of jumps out of them, and yes, that door is small. I never knew that it would do those maneuvers! On purpose, anyway! We jumped one for a whole summer after the DC3 crashed. I kept tripping over that little door threshold on the way out. Made for some interesting strung out exits. FIFY Yeah, a lot of the jumpers were strung out.
  17. Either that, or he saw this Carl Boenish video (start around 3:25)

  19. One of my favorite acts. But I missed SnF this year for the first time in years.
  20. Now that's what I call action! I think, next time I get out there, I'll see if I can take some pics of other stuff that needs doing and post them in a public forum. We'll have that place ship-shape in no time.
