  1. Were there ever more than six of them? Well I was only thinking of the 100 that were on the Ed Sullivan Show. I knew about 001 more (Pete Best) .... But I completely forgot that Sutcliffe brings the number of additional Beatles up to 010 for a total of 110.
  2. So she and her in-bred, wastrel issue are drowning in how many multi-millions o' quid, and she can't spare the cops who protect them a few mouthsful of trail mix? Doddering bitch. Well, I can't hardly blame her. They're probably digging around for the cashews and filberts and leaving her with all the peanuts and dried chick peas. I hate that.
  3. But "Indian Law" might have allowed Indians to scalp white folks even though "White Folk Law" frowned on that activity. I don't think anyone can do it legally now. My family got here after all that was mostly sorted out, so I'm not sure what the protocols were.
  4. Well . . . now. Yeah, *now*. I think scalping folks, dueling with pistols, and shootin' b'ars willy-nilly are all illegal here *now*, too.
  5. I'm pretty sure that's against the law in the US. ...even for Christians.
  6. An Internet forum is an interactive entertainment medium. But, I just agreed with Meso. What did I get wrong about SA history? Are you saying he is ignorant as well? You called the struggle against apartheid a "travesty of freedom and justice." There are only three possible explanations for that. Either you are completely ignorant of what apartheid meant for the lives of the non-white South African population, you are posting crap just to get a rise (which you have admitted to doing before), or you actually believe that non-whites had no right to rebel against their white "masters". None of these options paint you in a very favorable light. Don I don't think Ron was calling "the struggle against apartheid" a travesty. It looked like he agreed, after Meso's explanation, that apartheid might be a "travesty of freedom and justice" and that the use of certain tactics might be justifiable. I read Ron's response like this: "The point is that murder of innocent people (by some, like Mandela, et al.) is justifiable for some travesties of freedom and justice (like apartheid and other forms of tyranny)." He followed that by a pretty good question, although I don't think there is any question regarding apartheid in SA. I think that throughout history, the legitimacy of some "rebellions", which might outwardly appear righteous and just, might be open for debate.

  8. But, without entrepreneurs creating manufacturing and retail businesses there would be very little for them to buy. They would not have any money anyway, so no big deal. I suppose we could go back to trading beads for beaver pelts. (I think they still do that in New Orleans and Ybor City.)
  9. I had a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat.
  10. Australia did okay... Soooo... does that mean they did mutate or did'nt mutate?

    Where Were You?

Yup! "I'll get the beer, you get the fix, 'cause we're the Class of 86! PARTYYYY!!!" Scrawled on a bathroom stall wall at my Catholic high school freshman year. Good times... good times.... except that one day, of course. Hell, Yeah!! Count me in, too!.. Let's PAAARRTTTYYY!

    Where Were You?

1963 - 8th grade art class. Heard about on the radio, which the teacher just happened to turn on that day. She never played the radio for us before. 1986 - Stepped outside to watch the launch from about 120 miles away. Cold as hell but bright and clear. Of course everyone was wondering why the exhaust trail split into the "Y" shape. 2001 - heard it on the news at work. We spent the rest of the morning huddled around the 13" TV we scrounged up.
  13. Right now, given the fact that the Dems did it anyway, I'd just about bet the Repubs regret not doing it when they had the chance. Soviet-style consolidation of power is becoming more and more brazen and blatant.
  14. I had not even considered that their might be other, more noble uses for invisibility. (what a waste!)
  15. Been there, done that! Really?! ...You didn't notice? ....kewl!
  16. If (after this brazen move, and if they ever somehow luck out and regain power, which I seriously doubt) ...IF the Senate Repubs are foolish enough to reverse it, they would be shown to be bigger tools and maroons than I thought. But, my guess is that, if by some stroke of pure dumb luck they do gain a majority, they will reverse it to show to the people what a bunch of conciliatory idiots they are, thinking that will buy them love and admiration. I doubt we will ever know.
  17. I see what you did there.
  18. This summer I went swimming; this summer I might have drowned. But I held my breath and I kicked my feet and I moved my arms around.
  19. Sports are funny ... put me in front of a TV where I don't care about the result and I will be tuning out faster than a child with ADD. But put me in front of a TV where I care about the result and I am glued to every play as if it could influence who wins and loses the game. Last night's football game was like that for me. I didn't miss a play. It was the first time this season I got to see this "Best in the NFL" Kansas City Chiefs defense go up against the "Best in the NFL" Broncos offense and there is no doubt the Chiefs are good. This was an important game for the Broncos to win. But the pressure is still on for the Broncos. They have two very tough road games to play in the next couple of weeks (@New England and @Arrowhead with a re-match against the Chiefs). ^ this right here. I really enjoy watching the game played at the highest levels, no matter what teams are playing.

    Who's BAD?

You should tell that ho that if she doesn't like weeds in your pavers she can come pull them her dam self. Then tell your landlord that you've got it handled.

    Smileys

For the sake of efficiency, the "hugs" smiley and the "kisses" smiley could be rolled into a single "making out" smiley. Just a suggestion. ( ...now, where's that "eye-roll" smiley?)

    Who's BAD?

I went swimming right after eating a sammich once.
  23. Looks like that mullet parties in the front, too. This gives a whole new meaning to "thanks for all the fish". ETA - I'm really not sure if that is a mullet. Could be a blowfish ...or maybe a sucker. I dunno.
