  1. Well, I thought I was agreeing with billvon but his point was that a large enough object would "feel" the gravitational gradient and I was pointing out that a large (massive) enough object could cause a very small object to feel the tidal forces.
  2. [reply........ So? So... what? no further point.
  3. Yeah, taking it to an extreme, a black hole's gravitational field can have a very large "gradient" across atomic distances.
  4. Has Billy spoken to you about your avatar?
  5. If you didn't know if you were using it you probably weren't.
  6. Good thing they have those tires at the bottom. That ride would be so unsafe without them. Also, I'd like to send that girl a new burlap bag. Any ideas how to get it there?
  7. Both objects are orbiting a common center of gravity, the location of which is determined by the masses (and distance apart) of the objects.
  8. For some reason I am not able to get my printer to scan the page from my bird guide book to the computer, but I can confirm that it is in fact a red shouldered hawk.
  9. My guess is a species of sparrowhawk a long way from home or a Cooper's Hawk.
  10. Time travel is not trickery... you're doing it right now ....and now...and now .....and......

All that was determined in the first couple of nanoseconds after the Big Bang.
  12. I do! (when I'm not listening to my LPs & 45s).
  13. That's not proof. Consider Satan and Santa. One's name is an anagram of the other. They both wear red suits. You never see them together, but we know they are real. Hmm... I also saw Stan B. at the dz yesterday... wearing HIS red suit. Stan... same letters, same suit. Probably just coincidence. Where were you Saturday? I stopped by for one of Janine's hotdogs after finishing my cowboy duties for the day. I saw Stan then but you were nowhere around. I was out there at 9am. Did 4 jumps and went home around 4. There was a party Sat night, and I expected it to be cold, so I went home for some warmer clothes and came back around 7. Yeah, I would like to have stayed for that but I only had an hour or so to kill. I plan on being there for Jerry's party, though.

  17. You're hating on Michael Buble? What kind of horrible person are you?! Well, ...either that or he's hating on Lady Gaga.
  18. Toss-up between Barry Manilow and Tiny Tim.
  19. Skydiving has become a great place for "over seas" illegals to hide...thats for damn sure! Lighten up a little! They're just doing work that Americans won't do.
  20. Looks like you got the re-steamed ones everyone else "picked out". Waste not, want not.
  21. It's always nice to be able to count on someone to help out!
