  1. That definately proves he wasnt a right wing nut-job... You *were* aware that his favorite linked video was that of a flag-burning, yes? Hardly something that would be the favorite of some rabid right-winger. Wrong again - compare post #2 to post #4. But hey, you liberals go ahead and enjoy rolling around in the blood you're so busily attempting to smear on others. The sad thing, which you seem to overlook, as that there IS blood because some nutcase had easy access to a gun. Of course, it's someone else's blood, not yours. Well, I can think of a couple of countries in the recent past where the nutcases had all the guns. Still some countries like that. As for individual nutters getting guns ...I suppose any country where citizens can legally own a gun would be a place where they could get one without much trouble.
  2. ...and they still had those bags over their heads from last week when they got their asses waxed by the Bucs.
  3. and it happened to be a woman who controlled a district that sarah palin was targeting when she released her map last year... GOD BLESS AMERICA Uh...when a US political party or PAC "targets" a district for a change in leadership it is not the same thing as the 8th AF "targeting" an airfield at Kaltenkirchen. Could you explain that to Sharon Angle and her fellow travellers please Well ...IMO she's right about the reason for the 2nd Amendment but she's wrong about us being anywhere near a tyrannical dictatorship that requires a revolution ...if that's what she was implying. I doubt radical political rhetoric would push someone who is not a nutter to commit an assassination. A nutcase does not need a catalyst. Right now we don't know if this shooting was a politically motivated event or if it was personal. Who knows? It could have even been a crime of opportunity to some crazy who wanted to make headlines and go out in a blaze. The fact that so many politicians brought out that sort of rhetoric in the last election is hard to run from when one of their followers takes up "THE CAUSE" Kinda like all the preachers and other right to life leaders trying to distance themselves from those who actually go out and STOP those murdering abortionists after the preachers and right to life leaders incite them to do just that. Well, so far we don't know whether or not this was a blind follower just taking up the cause. Do we know if those murderers were acting on specific calls to kill abortion doctors or if they were "incited" by anti-abortionist religious leaders fretting over the loss of "innocents". Maybe they acted on their own twisted justifications. It would be terrible if the 1st and 2nd Amendments were crippled as a result of these kinds of incidents. Treat the actual perps like the criminals they are. Kinda like some say the "war on terror" is best handled through police action and we cannot presume someone is a terrorist until an act of terror is completed ...even if "terrorist-like" activities are observed beforehand.

  6. I'm NOT entirely certain he wanted HER dead, but rather saw the gathering as an opportunity. None of his videos specifically mention her or anything she even seemed to be related to. The one thing -I- get out of this event is that while there are rules for keeping guns out of the hands of nuts, they clearly don't work well enough. Even scarier to me ...who gets to decide who is and who isn't is ...a "nut" before any nut-like behavior is displayed. And who decides who decides? (and how can I get that job? ) And who decides what "nut-like" behavior is? A "nut" is not a "nut" until he is proclaimed a "nut" by some authorized authority.
  7. The work of a right wing nutjob, perhaps? As long as everyone is prematurely throwing out blame and ridiculous speculation how about: left-wing nutjob takes out dem congressman that is not "playing ball" believing it would automatically be blamed on a right-wing nutjob. 2 birds with one stone, so to speak. There are plenty of nutjobs on all sides to go around.
  8. How would the world be different had it gone down like this: Maitre D': Table for two! Welcome to the Eden Garden Restaurant! Eve: We'd like a seat in the garden, please. Maitre D': Right this way. I'd suggest against the fruit. The apples are not fresh and shouldn't be eaten today. Eve: Right. . . . Waiter: Hi! My name is Brucie and I'll be your server tonight. Our special is the Vegetarian Delight featuring a nice Waldorf Salad made with fresh Devil's Delight apples. Eve: Hmmmmm...I think I'll stick with the Caesar Salad thank you. Same for my man Adam, here. Wouldn't there then only be Adam and Eve.....no further begatting?
  9. .....or they could get themselves some cyanide and some Nike tennis shoes and wait for Hale-Bopp to roll around again.
  10. That's a smile?!? Here's Johnny and my aunt at their wedding. My aunt with Gordon Solie several years later. My aunt and Johnny, probably late 30's or early 40's. I'm not sure about the date. Maybe not even close. As a side note - they owned La Tropicana Cafe on 7th Ave in Ybor until they sold it to the current owners. Last time I was there her picture is still on the wall in the back room where the ....uh, goodfellas used to meet for ....uh ....for tea and crumpets. You may remember her from the racetrack, too.
  11. OK, another connection through these old pics.
  12. How irresponsible of you to drive on the day of the rapture! The devil made me do it.
  13. Are you sure you're gonna want it after it hits that embankment at 70mph and slides through the fence upside down across the cow pasture?
  14. Why would God give us the ability to devise a particle accelerator if he didn't want us to learn what it would show? Is he a tease or what? Particle accelerator ... apple tree .....what's the difference?
  15. I read all that business about the Mayan calendar ending in 2012. Kinda scary! But then, just for the hell of it, I checked my own calendar and realized the damn thing ended on Dec 31, 2010!! WTF!! Just in time I rushed down to Staples and got a new one and I'm good for another year. Whew!
  16. Wow! Small world! You probably knew Johnny better than I did. Although I was close to my aunt, he was a bit infrequent in appearances at family gatherings. When we did later talk about things he was getting quite old and was becoming ill. They would always try to talk me into switching from boat racing to cars. (I do remember telling them something to the effect that the pits in car racing were dirtier and greasier than in boat racing
  17. I'm stealing this and posting it to my sister's fb page (when I figure out how to do that
  18. I thought we talked about this Tampa racing stuff before
  19. Although I doubt you will need tubes (they really last a long time) I have thousands. Let me know what you need. If you want to keep it in service you should at least have the capacitors replaced before they begin to leak and ruin tubes or hard-to-find transformers. Speakers should be no problem to replace if you can get the specs (by measurement or by schematic). Usually 4, 8 or 16 ohms but careful ....many of those old intercom or PA systems used the constant voltage 70-volt speaker array, especially if there was outdoor use. So best to be sure since the speakers are not interchangeable. You might find some sort of ID plate on the chassis somewhere that may give a clue to the actual manufacturer ....Bell, GE, RCA, etc.
  20. Clues from the photo + Google = Jan Opperman
  21. Yeah, I like that scooter. This one probably had a real smoove ride ....check out that plunger rear suspension. Boing, boing, boing,... (maybe the Indians had some sort of damper. ...I dunno.)
