  1. I can't, but I tend not to worry about it too much. How can you be so sure that a sniper isn't going to put a bullet in you while out on a nature hike? I think it's great you feel that way. Hopefully you are only responsible for your own safety. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  2. Well Obama would agree with me that the USPS is a bad example of successful government. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  3. Me too … but I’d hope that would be evident from the style and substance of what I write, as well as the times I’ve defended other posters and their challenging of my arguments, including Mike ... but that's more general than really addressed to you. I’m not sure what you meant by “your’s and Darius’ arguments”? If EO acted in the strategic interests of the state, in this case Sierra Leone, than that’s not counter to what I’ve written … but I need to print out the paper you attached, read it, and think about it. Thanks for the reference.
  4. thank you Lefty. I agree Huckabee was nothing but respectful and Obama contiunues to surprise me every day. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  5. I'm still wondering what you meant by "your's and Darius' arguments"? The aggregation suggests that you think they're the same? (Please note question mark meaning I'm asking for clarification.) Beyond he & I both having some sort of response to the accusations of systematic child prostitution, I don't think Darius and my arguments are the same. (And it's likely that a significant part of my reasoning beyond illegality of child prostitution is different, i.e., I consider the potential effect on COIN and SSTR operations). If you do think that our arguments are the same, then I have failed to communicate. /Marg Sorry...didn't mean to imply they are the same as they are not. I just meant there is ammunition for both of yas. But Darius doesn't want to talk about Sierra Leone so he might miss out. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  6. Oh I saw your point and thought it to be a very good explanation. I simply edited out the demeaning portion of your post. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  7. ah that's better www.FourWheelerHB.com
  8. He does now! And HOLY SHIT ladies! Since when is it necessary to slobber all over a man like that for rolling up on you? She acts like he's done her the worlds biggest favor. How does she expect him to want that again when he's got a "permanent invitation"? Shes gonna be that last call he makes after batting zero at the bar. If a guy said something like this he'd be accused of "playing games" www.FourWheelerHB.com
  9. It was a civil war and EO was contracted by the legitimate Sierra Leonean government. EO's company policy is to only work for legitimate governments. Sierra Leone’s ability to pay Executive Outcomes for services rendered—to the sum of $1.8 million per month—depended on Executive Outcomes forcing the RUF from diamond areas and implementing a $30 million mining contract with Branch Energy. Also The government owed $30 million to Executive Outcomes and was additionally bogged down by a 10 percent reduction of GDP and a 35 percent rise in inflation.20 Although Executive Outcomes covered part of its expenses in Sierra Leone with profits from its operations in Angola, the Sierra Leonean government lay in financial ruin, and Executive Outcomes left after nearly two years of operations. http://www.worldpolicy.org/projects/arms/news/brown.pdf And yes I realize the ammunition this link holds for your's and Darius' arguments. I am of the mind that truth is far more important than being right. oh yeah and....footnotes! www.FourWheelerHB.com
  10. Wow what a terrible incident. Why were there no charges filed? Honestly I don't know what to expect when it comes to how the police handle the hit and run I witnessed. I would hope they charge the man since at 85 years old he should know better than most. But hey...I did my part and now it's out of my hands. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  11. Hah! And here I thought you were trying to be one of the "good girls" www.FourWheelerHB.com
  12. I imagine, like being an OBGYN, there will be good days.....and bad. And yes Marg, my imagination is a bit off today. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  13. By economically you mean the conflict of interest with regard to mercenaries not striving to end a conflict because it is their means of income? I suppose that would depend on the contract. I imagine mercs are contracted for a very specific objective and a failure to achieve the objective would or should affect their contract OR ability to gain new contracts. It's no different than contracting someone to work on your house or car? Would you pay them an hourly wage? Not likely. You'd pay them a flat rate and it would be up to the contractor to increase or decrease their own hourly wage. And if you really need it done fast, as the employer, you can offer a bonus for an efficient job well done. Or the contractor can add on a premium. Edited to add: Disclaimer... I have never hired a mercenary company. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  14. LOL oh yeah forgot to mention...the "victim" was in the bar next door and just came out staggering drunk. Mental note: don't park over there anymore. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  15. Good! I don't care if you're 105 and are transporting Hopey-McChangey's unicorn to the rainbow factory, there is no excuse for not stopping and taking care of your business. LOL Ok how many times have you used that expression with someone you stopped? www.FourWheelerHB.com
  16. Yep. Called the cops and reported it and my boss jumped in his car and followed the perp to his place of residence a couple blocks away. The man was 85. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  17. Yeah I thought about that too but surmised it is fake because the convo doesn't read like she is engaged as well as the censoring of the names in the convo but not on "Tracy's" friends list. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  18. Some old man jumped the curb for no apparent reason and nailed a truck parked in the parking lot at my work. He rear ended the truck and didn't get off the gas until he pushed the truck far enough so he could rake the entire side of the truck with the side of his car and nearly rear ending my car. Ran out to check if he was ok. Fortunately he was ok and at this point all we are looking at is two damaged vehicles. Then the dumbass jumps back in his car and drives off while I'm staring at his license plate with a pen in my hand. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  19. funny but I suspect it's fake because her relationship status is engaged. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  20. And you are right...private militaries under contract to the US should be held accountable for their actions under the same laws as our military. Did you look into what happened in Sierra Leone? www.FourWheelerHB.com
  21. Thanks for the reply Darius. I don't have a single problem with private armies. Mainly because of what occured in Sierra Leone. But I'm just discussing private armies. Not Blackwater specifically. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  22. Hey look at the bright side...at least you don't see 40 new posts only to find out they're all in boring ass'd threads created by skydiverbry....oh wait. www.FourWheelerHB.com
