  1. I'm a little surprised you feel that way. Why is it you feel this way? Is there any data that supports your opinion (I'd like to see it) or is it simply an opinion? Did you read the article I linked? www.FourWheelerHB.com
  2. Personally I think it's a great idea. The children's test scores reflect not only the parents' ability to teach but their ability to parent. There is much more pressure on the parent to make sure their children are learning and if the parents were looking for an easy way out with regards to their childrens' education it would be far easier to just send them to a public school. Granted the children may miss out on the social aspects of public education but that is not a problem without a solution. In 1990, the National Home Education Research Institute issued a report entitled "A Nationwide Study of Home Education: Family Characteristics, Legal Matters, and Student Achievement." This was a study of over 2,163 homeschooling families which found that the average scores of the homeschool students were at or above the 80th percentile in all categories. The homeschoolers’ national percentile mean was 84th for reading, 80th for language, 81st for math, 84th for science and 83rd for social studies.1 http://www.omninerd.com/articles/The_Benefits_of_Homeschooling For some reason home schooling is looked down upon. Why do you think that is and what are your thoughts on the subject? www.FourWheelerHB.com
  3. I don’t agree. I think the people who were so sure yet had no reason to be, the people who shut down the voices of reason by calling them traitors, and the ones who blindly supported the Iraq war are a lot more responsible then the ones screaming don’t. That’s a huge part of where my anger comes from. Their ignorance, and unwillingness to listen has led to lives lost and money spent. They need to look at themselves and understand that yes what they supported was wrong, and ended up costing many lives and insane amounts of money. Sorry this is the real wo4rld your actions every thing you do has consequences, and just letting them slide because we want to pretend we live in happy land will not cut it. There will always be a next time and I pray the next time they don’t just spew the same garbage and maybe just maybe even listen. Can you really absolve your entire party of any responsibility with evidence or are you just towing (or is it toeing?) the party line? Tankbuster's video link was pretty telling and is how I remember it. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  4. I think, like the Star Spangled Banner, it should be taught but requiring a moment every morning to say the pledge is a complete waste of time. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  5. If it wasn't for Obama it would be 20%. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  6. Or perhaps he is more knowledgable than someone who isn't already on a national healthcare plan. I'm on a national healthcare plan as well being a veteran and I am against Obama's plan. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  7. Unless they are knowledgable enough to teach all the subjects in the national curriculum and are able dedicate the time necessary to educate their child to the required standard, then yes I'd say they are guilty of child abuse. I know of very few people who I would consider to be qualified to home school. I am not one of them. - Granted. That is actually my opinion of MY ability as well. However, I also not so trusting to believe that everything that is in the "national curriculum" is correct either. If you're not qualified to teach the national curriculum, how are you qualified to say whether it is correct? When my father retired from the Air Force he was looking to supplement his retirement by working as a substitute teacher. Having a bachelors in math and a masters in business would you say my father is qualified to teach? Well he wasn't. Why? The soul criteria that deemed him unqualified was because he didn't take typing in college. Seriously. www.FourWheelerHB.com

  9. True. But here's hoping that you guys are only losing your minds hitting on the women females, as opposed to the child females or the animal females. In my defense I only used "females" when mentioning bitterness towards. I'm actually kind of surprised no male dz.commer hasn't come in here to tell you to get them a sammich and a beer. Don't look at me....I'm not gonna say it. I'm too chicken. It's kinda funny how many bonfire cliches are in this one exchange (both of us guilty). Bonfire's nothing if not predictable and repetitive. There is still time. Wait for someone to bring transvestites into the convo. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  10. So the Iraqi thing - which side are we blaming that on? Time to whip out the video, again. Seems like alot of policy makers on both sides saw it as a matter of national security. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5p-qIq32m8 Yup WE wanted this war. www.FourWheelerHB.com

  12. Of course I have but I'm using an older version that can't seem to keep up with the velocity and frequency of which a woman's mind will change! www.FourWheelerHB.com
  13. I personally don't like it. Maybe other women don't have an issue with it. Women works for me.
  14. Not referring to them as "females" also helps, as does getting over any idea that women are "other" and are all the same. Tschh... you girls are never satisfied Ya got that right! www.FourWheelerHB.com
  15. Not referring to them as "females" also helps, as does getting over any idea that women are "other" and are all the same. Since when did "females" become politically incorrect? Which would you prefer I used? www.FourWheelerHB.com
  16. Just think of the opportunities! Learn to talk to attractive women without losing your mind and getting dates will be that much easier. Getting over any form of bitterness towards females helps significantly as well. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  17. fixed it. once the war ends for either side, that issue is fixed. I prefer to keep more of my money, and making my own decisions. the cost to me is listening to some christian babble every so often, but you get a little of that with the lefties too. I like downward's post. Well we all like to blame the Republicans or the Democrats but it is my opinion that we are all at fault for what happened over the last 8 years. And by "we" I mean the American people. Until WE decide to take responsibility for OUR actions then nothing will change regardless of which party is in power. But hey football season starts this week, hockey is in 4 weeks, and Piggly Wiggly has a sale on cake so fuck it. www.FourWheelerHB.com

  20. Christians are wonderful people. Catholics? Ya have to wonder about someone who continues to support an organization that supports through cover up, child molestation. I agree with you regarding the official Hierarchy of the Catholic Church. But not with regard to "Catholics" generally. Equating the Cathlic Church's hierarchy with ordinary "Catholics" is like equating fatwa-issuing mullahs in Iran with ordinary "Muslims" : both are probably unfair over-generalizations. You are right. I'm being completely unfair to those who are unaware of this Vatican policy. How strange is it that a catholic priest, who recently was caught having an "affair" with an adult female, was excommunicated? We may be talking past each other. I'm not saying that most ordinary Catholics are ignorant of the Hierarchy's inexusable failures and complicity in the child abuse cases. Most ordinary Catholics I know (and I know a lot) are very angry about it, so painting them with the same broad brush that paints the complicit clergy is unfair. Angry enough to stop giving the Vatican money? www.FourWheelerHB.com
  21. There is a difference between oh well, I'm not worried enough to have guns in the house and not taking other precautions. You have to remember that there are people out there who do not believe that a gun is the answer. Having a gun for home defense is a very personal decision but I could not help but notice the below quote. Aside from the quote making your outlook on home security to be lackadaisical, and perhaps I am reading into it, but are you not equating those who choose to protect their homes with a firearm as living with a constant fear of violence? www.FourWheelerHB.com

  24. About 6 years ago I worked full time at Skydive Elsinore and some asshole decided to torch the gear trailer where my, as well as many others', gear was stored. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the skydiving community, we all received at least 50% of our losses back in donations to replace our gear. And thanks to the owners of Skydive Elsinore they allowed me to sell back my unused jump tickets to recover the other 50%. There are some incredible people in skydiving. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  25. I was a whole heck of a lot more relaxed about my own home safety back when it was just me. With a wife and two little girls, I've become just a touch more paranoid, but I think that's justifiable--there's a lot more to lose, now. Yep...if anyone is responsible for others' safety and have that oh well, I'm not worried about it attitude, then they are doing those folks they are responsible to a huge disservice. www.FourWheelerHB.com
