Whatcha gonna do now middle east?
downwardspiral replied to downwardspiral's topic in Speakers Corner
Without a renewable energy source a decrease in demand will only be a temporary reprieve. We need to work on both ends. That's why I'm confused by both your's and bilvon's perspectives. www.FourWheelerHB.com -
Whatcha gonna do now middle east?

Come on people. There is hope on the horizon that comes in many different shapes, sizes, and technologies whether they affect supply or demand. Quit being so damn negative. www.FourWheelerHB.com -

Electric Bicycles. Billvon Feel Free to Offer Your Advice...
downwardspiral replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Engine between knees = not good then? Why's zat? I would think it would give you more space to mount a back rack and carry stuff if it's on the frame that way. I suppose it would be ok during the winter but during the summer I'd be worried they'd burn my tender knees. www.FourWheelerHB.com -

Director of the project -- dubbed LS9 -- Greg Pal says that barrel prices could run as low as $50, and that the company plans to have a commercial facility producing the crude in 2011. http://www.engadget.com/tag/greg+pal/ As soon as I saw this I raced to find their stock but alas they are private. www.FourWheelerHB.com -

Electric Bicycles. Billvon Feel Free to Offer Your Advice...
downwardspiral replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
As far as better goes I was referring to the type of engine and where its mounted. 4 stroke engines don't spit oil like 2 strokes plus its not mounted between the knees. www.FourWheelerHB.com -
I found one! And she's cheap too. She never ceases to amaze me when we go shopping and she looks at a t-shirt or tank top that she loves then looks at the price tag and says," 10 dollars! Hell no. I'd buy it for two dollars but not 10!" www.FourWheelerHB.com

Cool! I love the flames. Thanks for all of the advice everyone; I'm still looking around. I'm hoping to win a harley Davidson sportster in an email contest... I posted that link but found some better options but more expensive. http://www.bikeengines.com/ I'm about being green but sometimes the pocket book can't afford to be so I think a gas engine conversion would be better in the long run. Plus they'd likely have the power to get you up those hills. www.FourWheelerHB.com -

Whuffos Calling 911 for a "Skydiver Who Bounced"
downwardspiral replied to iluvtofly's topic in The Bonfire
The landing area at Skydive Santa Barbara happens to be about 15-20 feet lower in elevation to the rest of the city. On this one particular jump one of the jumpers with a bright orange canopy swooped as he always does which apparently caught someone's attention. As we're all standing there in the landing area smiling, laughing, just having a good ole time this sheriff comes storming down the dirt road in his squad car and does a nice four wheel skid to come to a stop with his drivers side window nearest us. We all look at him dumbfounded when he asks in a panick,"where's the guy with the orange parachute?!" Well out of the 10 of us standing there only one of us had an orange parachute so all of us turn and look at him only to see him looking sheepish and quickly hide his very small orange canopy behind his back. Of course we all bust out laughing and turn back towards the sheriff who was looking at us like we were all freaks which only made us laugh all the harder. good times www.FourWheelerHB.com -
Looking at the Honda Civic NGV the only real benefit would be emissions. A huge flaw would be the 16 hours to fill up an 8 gallon tank using the home fill station. I did a cursory search for fast-fill stations in SoCal (a very pro NGV state) and they were very few and very far between. http://automobiles.honda.com/civic-gx/specifications.aspx Also not sure about your math because according to the article linked below natural gas is only 40% cheaper than gasoline. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20080501.wh-vaughan-0501/BNStory/specialGlobeAuto www.FourWheelerHB.com

I get 350km on a 20 litre tank, what is that in Yank units? That's 41.19 mpg. www.FourWheelerHB.com

What sort of mpg do you get on your behemoth? I get 45 mpg steet and freeway combined on my 03 yamaha yzf600r. 55mpg on the freeway. www.FourWheelerHB.com

Fair enough but this was the point I was getting at. Edited to add: When its so hot I'd consider not wearing my gear, I take my car. But I live in SoCal and can ride all year long. www.FourWheelerHB.com
-
I wasn't saying take my advice. Ride without gear if you want but at least be honest about why you do it. I really don't judge riders for not wearing gear until they start doing wheelies (like in the vid), stoppies, and other stunts. www.FourWheelerHB.com

lol come on let's be honest. Temperature isn't anything more than a conveniant excuse. My leather jacket has zippers that when open allow so much air through its very similar to being in just a t-shirt. Also there is mesh gear. Fortunately the gear for crotch rocket riders' not only looks cool but is safe. www.FourWheelerHB.com

I'm all about super sport bikes. Cruisers are great and all but they just don't have the wow factor. When it is time for me to graduate to something more cruiserish then I'll get a Honda Goldwing because those things are freaking awesome. Otherwise it's not the bike that's unsafe...it's the rider. Sure we may see more super bikes getting laid down but that's only because of the personality type that kind of bike attracts. Whatever your decision just remember.... keep the rubber side down, keep your head on a swivel, wear the proper gear, and ...... cagers suck! www.FourWheelerHB.com

Non-judicial punishment typically refers to loss of rank, loss of pay, restriction and extra duty, in some combination. What he said. And for the guy who said something about Leavenworth, if he were headed there (or any brig), they wouldn't be discharging him yet. Blues, Dave The article says "process of seperation" which could mean seperation once his sentence is served. So yes it is entirely possible he is behind bars. www.FourWheelerHB.com -
Nice attempt at a deflection mate. What they are being accused is not and should not be considered a "fuck up." They are accused of mass murder. You are trying to make this personal while all I'm trying to do is look at this objectively and form an opinion. I'm even open to hear your arguments and concede points to you but all you want to do is argue without making any real points regarding the topic. Admittedly I am biased considering I'm a Marine however that gives me an understanding of how things work. That means I can read an article about the US military and recognize BS when I see it just like you can recognize it when you read an article about a base or skydiving incident. So do me a favor. Go back and read all the articles in this thread and any you may find not in this thread. Then come back and make some points regarding the topic. At which point I will be happy to continue this discussion.....mate. www.FourWheelerHB.com

How Would You React to This? (Job/Boss Related)
downwardspiral replied to Gato's topic in The Bonfire
I can't imagine the dean sending out an email like that company wide. Perhaps ask a coworker about how the dean deals with his employees and see if there is a history of this. I would definitely talk to him about it. But then again I don't take shit from noone. Unfortunately that sometimes means cutting off my nose to spite my face. www.FourWheelerHB.com
