the training was tough. 1.5 hours yoga, TWICE daily, with atnadomy classes in between. she made it though, and got in excellent condition in the process. we converted a bedroom to a yoga room, about 10 X 11. i installed a 5000 watt heater, 220 volt. and we installed mirrors across one wall. for about $1000 she now has her personal studio. the heater works great, gets the room to 105F in about 15 minutes, and we have a small humidifier too. if you have the room, and want to practice yoga alot, this is the way to go. in fact, she is doing a session right now...while i sit and type my day away! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

a few more things you can do. install a solar powered attic roof fan. and add some more insulation up in the attic. both fairly low cost. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

Jenni, my wife, had sevear scollosis when she was young, not sure on the measurement degree, doctors recomended surgery, and she went with it to correct the lower spine. they went in and straightened the spine using fusions, no rods. her back worked out good, but they truamaed her pancreas (spelling?) and she went 3 months with no oral food, another story. anyway, she was told at the time that her upper curve would have to be corrected at some point, maybe around age 25 to 30. today, she is 32, and her upper spine hurts. she has developed a degenerative disc too. But, the pain is kept in check by her doing yoga 4 to 5 times a week, in a hot room in our house. she even go her teaching cert for Bikram yoga. there was a girl in her class with much worse condition, did yoga every day, and no more pain, and spine did actully straighted. moral...yoga, exerscise, and eat well. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

We still have our Sony rear projection screen. Having a "flat" or "matte" finish on the screen helps alot, and cleaning the projector lenses is essential. I dont care for plasmas, especially when people mount them up high, so you have to tilt your head back and contantly look up to watch it, very un ergonomic. Then again, you could do what we did...cancel your cable/satilite service, turn off the TV...and go OUTSIDE! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

Well, if the USPA will give him the ratings in under a year, its something we have to live with, no matter what you think. But the deciding factor is will a DZ hire him with this amount, or lack of, time under his belt. If we are unhappy with the ability to achieve these ratings in this time frame, we need to change the guidelines. Side note. In the US you can go to trucking school for a week or so, take a test, and then be allowed to drive a 80,000 pound vehicle, at 75 miles an hour down the highway. 80,000 pounds vs. a 3000 pound car...whos gonna win? Whos gonna die? Is the person good enough to avoid an accident, smashing over little commuter cars full of people? Well, the guidelines say so. Peoples need for lawyers is a direct ratio to their inability to take responsibility for their actions, and their lack of ability to work through problems. my brother was hit on his bicycle by a lady driving "across" a parkting lot, as in, over the marked spaces. we were riding down the lane. i usually park near the edge and walk, good for my feet. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
