  1. Based on what you think AD meds will do to you, I think whatever doctor or counselor that you've been seeing has failed to do his or her job. I'm sure you (unknowingly) are around quite a few people on meds, and you probably never could pick them out as people "dulled to reality." My suggestion: Try the meds for a month or two. If you don't like how they affect you, then stop taking them. That being said, don't expect medications to work overnight. Listen to what your doctor has to say about how long they may take to work. 2. Funny, I haven't heard "people talking about these very things." P3 is in business to make money, so who's to say that a "rumored" profit is too much. If you think the cost of the event is too much, then don't apply/go. I don't know the cost of BJ's event in Qatar, but I'm sure people are making money. I don't see an ulterior motive for depositing checks after the event was cancelled. If you wonder why that was done, I'd suggest you contact Jen. I sent in my check well before it was cancelled, so I no nothing about that. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  3. From: http://www.cnn.com/2011/12/08/politics/congress-payroll-tax-cut/index.html?eref=rss_topstories&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+rss%2Fcnn_topstories+%28RSS%3A+Top+Stories%29 The excerpt: Referring specifically to the Keystone project, Obama said that "however many jobs might be generated by a Keystone pipeline, there are going to be a lot fewer than the jobs that are created by extending the payroll tax cut and extending unemployment insurance." The democrats have been saying that tax cuts don't create jobs, but the messiah says they do. Which is it? There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  4. 1. When I landed from my first jump 2. After I was off of student status I started looking for a used rig. I knew I'd progress down in size of my main. I kept that first rig for a couple of years until I knew what I wanted, then I bought new. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  5. I drive an automatic because sitting in Los Angeles traffic with a stick shift sucks. When I had a "weekend car" (Porsche), that was manual. MUCH more fun to drive. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  6. Makes NO sense. So I've worked hard, made good money, and paid a combined federal and state tax of about 35% of my income. I have an estate of $4 million dollars. I choose to leave it to my friends when I die. So $3 million that I'VE ALREADY BEEN TAXED ON will be taxed AGAIN at rates of up to 55%. So it would be better for me to spend all of my money on hookers (where legal, of course) and "medical" pot, and end up on welfare for my last 10 years. The money has already been taxed. It should be mine to do whatever I'd like with it. Just because I've saved more than a million dollars is no reason to punish me (or the friends I give my money to). There are battered women? 7. What are some of those "funky tax deductions?" I make well over $250K, and although I have a CPA, I don't know of any such deductions. Please enlighten me, if you can. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  8. Welcome to the club. I think you'll find many that were hooked after doing their first jump. I've done over 2000 jumps, and I can't wait to do the next one. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  9. I've had my Bev suit for a full season now, and I have the following impressions: The suit fit the first time, which is a big plus. I ordered a second suit with the same measurements some time later, and it also fit -- not necessarily a given. The suit has mostly held up well, BUT. The con: I have had to have the booties repaired several times. The seam around the edges came apart twice. The stitching where the side of the bootie connects to the sole also came apart twice. Very frustrating.
  10. At the California State Record yesterday, P3 said they are no longer accepting Paypal for the Dubai world record payments. They didn't go into details other than to say that Paypal isn't releasing their money. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

  12. I thought Fox News described it best: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/09/09/twelve-words-to-describe-obamas-jobs-speech/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+foxnews%2Fmost-popular+%28Internal+-+Most+Popular+Content%29 A favorite of the 12 Words to Describe Obama's Jobs Speech is: Presumptuous: He demanded – 17 times – that Congress immediately pass a bill no one has seen. 13. I never wanted kids, and after my divorce was in process, I decided to have it done. The doctor didn't hassle me about having no kids and getting it done. They just tell you to make sure it's what you want because reversal is difficult. Pretty much the same experience as others. It's a strange feeling when they pull the Vas deferens out to cut / cauterize it. It wasn't a pleasant feeling, but it's over pretty quickly. Had an ice pack handy for the weekend. The pain wasn't much, and the ice did help. I'm definitely glad I did it. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  14. I was fortunate enough to get invited to the debate, and I just got home. I had to stay for the reception afterwards. :-) IMO, Romney was the winner. Bachmann also spoke well, and Perry was third. I think Perry took a safer route by sticking to his script. He wasn't all that impressive, but he didn't say anything really stupid. I think Perry missed an opportunity to address his "Ponzi Scheme" comment. In an absolute sense, I think he's right. The benefits for today's retirees are being paid for by today's earners, not by the money they paid into the system. That is the basic definition of a Ponzi scheme. New "investors" are paying the "old" ones. They announced they'll be having another one at the Reagan Library before "Super Tuesday." I think I'll go to that one too. There are battered women? 15. Huh. ~4,600 people tried to illegally carry a gun onto a plane? Some small part of me wants to say bullshit. But hell, they have the power. I fly my own plane to get places. I've seen a couple of stories in the past week about guns being found in carry-on baggage at Los Angeles International, so the number is probably accurate. Most of them are probably people who either forgot it was in the bag (stupid), or were too lazy to put it in their checked baggage and do the paperwork (more stupid). On the subject of 50 million prohibited items. Yes, all those bottles of water and shampoo, along with those nail clippers add up fast. I think calling them "potential threats" is stretching it a bit. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  16. Your headline is misleading. This "tax" affects the each "wealthy" person by the maximum dollar amount, which is $2,136 per year. In fact, since many "wealthy" people are self-employed, and pay both sides of SS contributions, it hits them (myself included) for $4,272. For the $50K/year guy working for xyz Corp, his hit is $1,000. So explain how the wealthy are not included in this tax increase. There are battered women? 17. They're slowly outsourcing / offshoring all of the IT staff where I'm at now. What they're doing a lot of as well is "onshoring" -- bringing in Indians to work here. That displaces U.S. citizens, but the H1B visas keep flowing. From what I see, it's a shortsighted way to save money. Let's get rid of the senior people and bring in junior people from offshore. We'll save all kinds of money. Well, you get what you pay for. We spend so much time training these people and having them redo their work. I'm glad I'm closer to the end of my career versus the beginning. Intertek is still in business? They stiffed a my friend for $40K, and a bunch of others, then closed up shop in California. I see her corporations have been suspended / forfeited in California. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  18. I spoke with Jim's ex-wife Karen, and she asked me to post the following regarding services for Jim: Saturday, August 13th, 3:00 p.m. Pharr Funeral Home of Prescott 201 West 2nd Street N Prescott, Aransas 71857 Burial to follow in Emmett, AR. 20. I listen to a call-in legal show, and he gets questions like this frequently. The obvious thing is to stop paying rent, and stay where you are. The home may not sell at the trustee sale, and the bank may end up holding it. If that happens, go to the bank and tell them that you'd gladly stay in the home (for little or no rent) to watch over it while they try to sell it. Empty homes often times get trashed or squatted in. If the home does sell, escrow will probably take 60-90 days, and again, stay put. Evictions can take 4-6 weeks or longer. Good luck. 21. I know several people jumping with fusions. I have C3/4 & C5/6. I know one guy with several lumbar fusions, and he's going strong. My doctor was very cautious after my fusion, and wanted me to wait 6 months before jumping. I didn't agree, but I waited anyway. I've been back jumping for 3 years now with no problems. 22. I'll be picking up my Phantom the next time I go to the DZ. I'll be replacing an Oxygn A3. Before ordering the Phantom, I tried on the Cookie at a boogie. I too am a member of the freakishly large head group. Both the Cookie and Phantom fit, but I liked the fit of the Phantom better. A teammate tried on both helmets at the same time I did, and he liked the Cookie better, and ordered on of those. Both the Cookie and Phantom have a better field of vision than most of the old helmets do. The face shields on both helmets are thicker than the one on my Oxygn. You can change the shield on the Phantom without using tools, in about 15 seconds. The Cookie requires a screwdriver to change the face shield, but even with that, it's MUCH easier to change than the Oxygn is. In my opinion, both are good helmets, and it will come down to personal fit/preference. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  23. With my teammates, I need full-face. I'm fed up with my Oxygn A3. Poor manufacturing of the place that the ratchets go causes face shields to break too often. I tried both the Cookie and the Phantom, and I like the fit of the Phantom slightly better. For a teammate, it's exactly opposite -- the Cookie fits him better. The face shields on both of them are leaps and bounds ahead of the Oxygn shields. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
