A+, CMV negative. 25 blood donations, 3 platelet donations. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

Yes, these companies are based in Japan, they employ tens of thousands at their plants in the United States, among other countries. There was just an article in the paper about Toyota, showing that (as I remember) Camrys sold in the U.S. are manufactured here in the states, using 85-90% of U.S. products. So although I'm not concerned that a boycott could endanger my job here at Honda (in sunny California), people need to realize that if they were to actually affect these global companies, they'd be hurting workers in many countries. Besides, as far as I know, Honda uses no whale products in their cars.

Have you ever paid cash for a brand new car?
TheBachelor replied to jumpjunkie2004's topic in The Bonfire
I paid cash when I bought my Porsche. It was the easiest sale ever. I had researched what they were selling for at the time, and due to supply/demand, they were selling for sticker. I walked into the dealership, and the entire conversation went like this: Me (pointing to car): "I'd like to get one of these." Salesman: "Do you want to pay above or below sticker?" Me: "Below." Salesman: "How about $500 off, and I'll throw in a car cover." Me: "It's a deal." That was it. A few months ago I was looking for another car, and walked into the Mercedes dealership with cash in hand (my checkbook). I had researched the cars, and knew what I wanted. Nobody talked to me. Granted, I was wearing old shorts and a t-shirt, driving a '97 Honda Accord (third car). Still, I refused to chase down a salesman just to give them my money. I found another dealership. Would I buy a new car if I had to finance it? No. Cars aren't good investments, paying interest on a loan just makes them worse. There are battered women? Alti-2 for 2 reasons: 1) Free testing of altimeters and replacements of lenses, wrist straps, etc. at boogies. 2) Going "above and beyond" when repairing or replacing altimeters, even when they are out of warranty. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

For me, it's created more controls, paperwork, and endless MEETINGS. We're still going through the audits, but I can see the bottom line for me: A bunch of new procedures that make my job much more difficult to do while securing little or nothing. If someone REALLY wants to, they can get around most of these controls without detection. Meanwhile we waste a lot of time and money on audits, etc. There are battered women? Has anyone ever taken a speed-reading course?
TheBachelor replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
I took one at a college at night. I think it was a quarter or semester-long course. I think $299 for 12 hours of classroom time is a little much, but if you can't find it anywhere else I guess it's O.K. That being said, I'll also say that the concepts taught could easily be done via self-study. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years... -
You could do something like this: =SUM(A1:A30)-MAX(A1:A30)-MIN(A1:A30)-LARGE(A1:A30,2)-LARGE(A1:A30,COUNT(A1:A30)-1) You can also change your MIN/MAX to use LARGE, but MIN/MAX is more readable. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

If you were buying an AAD today, what would you buy?
TheBachelor replied to docjohn's topic in Gear and Rigging
I just bought a Vigil for my second rig. I've yet to jump it. If I like the Vigil over the next 2 years, I'll buy another to replace the Cypres that will be at the end of its life. The total cost of ownership was the main factor for me, although I did study its safety record first. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years... -

Credit cards (big interest $$$) can get you in trouble in a hurry. In all the years I've had credit cards, I think MAYBE once I didn't pay off the entire balance when it was due. If you can't afford it, then don't buy it. I too left college with loans, but as soon as they started charging me interest, I made it a priority to pay them off. I paid as much as I could each month, not just the minimum. Ever since that, I've paid cash for everything except for my house. Cars, rigs, etc... When I had extra cash each month, I threw some of it at my mortgage, and invested some. In 10 years I had paid the house off and had well over in the bank/stock market. Bottom line: Stay away from credit card debt (interest). Make extra payments on your existing debt to get rid of it ASAP. Differentiate between NEEDS and WANTS when buying things. Geez, I haven't had too many. I guess I can stretch it out if I name some different things in the same field.. Chronologically, they are: -- Working in my dad's bowling alley (cleaning, working the cash register, fixing the machines, etc.) -- Working in a gas station -- Mechanic in a bowling alley -- Doing one-on-one computer training, then teaching classes in a classroom -- Mainframe computer programmer -- "Midrange" computer programmer -- "Midrange" Database Administrator There are battered women? It pissed me off that it was on Monday. I have the "standard" Tivo service that doesn't follow a program if it changes nights, so I missed it. I got the story from my co-workers, but it's not the same. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

I asked Vigil about this, and their concern was not with elevation changes in the drive, but with the fact/opinion that the air pressure in your trunk could change greatly when opening or closing the trunk. I was just wondering what people saw in the "real world" versus in a CYA statement by the manufacturer. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

Vigil's website has the following statement: "Vigil is the most accurate AAD on the market. It becomes operational in a zone of 150ft/46m above or under takeoff level. To avoid unexpected firing, you must switch OFF your Vigil before traveling in a closed vehicle (boot or trunk) due to possible air pressure variation." I asked Vigil to clarify this statement, and their recomendation is just what the statement says: Turn it off before leaving the DZ with your rig in the trunk. This seems that it could be an expensive lesson if you forget to turn it off, which I could see doing since I've never shut my Cypres off at the end of the day. My question is: Do you turn your Vigil off before putting your rig in your trunk? Has anyone left it on, and had their Vigil fire? There are battered women? News Flash: Bush Criticized Once Again
TheBachelor replied to TheBachelor's topic in Speakers Corner
I think it’s just scandalous, the way this administration lacks foresight. I think we should give them another chance, and elect another republican next term. Seems only fair to me! Bush Fails To Prevent East Coast Blizzard Minorities Hit Hardest As President Bush and his staff cowered in the White House, the snow continued to pile up on the many poor and African American victims who could not afford to get out of town or to safety in Florida. Crucial supplies of blankets, hot cocoa, popcorn and dark rum - so essential to surviving the stress of any major snowstorm - lay in stores undelivered. "Where is the government? I need my sidewalk shoveled so I can get out to buy my damm lottery tickets!" said one D.C. resident from his living room. "Why are we wasting money in Iraq when we could be spending it here on me?" Progressive blogs blasted the President for his inaction. "We find the timing terribly suspicious - just as the Domestic Spying hearings kick into high gear, what happens? A major northeast Blizzard. Why now?" wrote blogger FUAmericaNBush2. Hearings into the Blizzards' effect on hearings are almost a certainty. Howard Dean has suggested he will call for an investigation once his new medications kick in and John Kerry took a break from the sporting activities of the glamorous super-rich in some exotic locale (random choice: Ice Sailing in Finland) to call for new legislation outlawing snowstorms. "The Republican Congress has dropped the ball once again. I have always been a staunch supporter of anti-snow legislation, except for certain locations where I ski. Snow has no business on our roads and the President and Congress knows that." Calls for impeachment over "SnowGate" as some are calling it already are mounting as deeply as the snow itself, and what will be discovered underneath will prove to have a truly chilling effect on the Republicans, as the inevitable thaw proceeds. More breaking news...... Al Sharpton wants an investigation as to why snow is ALWAYS white. Cheney has stock in Tru-Value Hardware. Do you have any idea how many SNOW SHOVELS they sold today to the unsuspecting consumer? I demand to know why FEMA has been so late in reacting to this storm. THEY KNEW IT WAS COMING! And yet they failed to have crews in place to fix the electricity as soon as it went off. It just shows that Bush and the Republicans just don't care about the people in the N.E. The Senate needs to investigate this with administration people under oath. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years... -
It valued my house at almost $1 million. I thought that was a little high, so I looked at the comps it used. They were all in my neighborhood, but the highest selling price was about $900K (since I live in a gated community, that house was the exact same size/layout as mine is). So I don't understand where the $1 million came from. Still, it's a lot of good information for free. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

I was fortunate enough to do my first 100 jumps at a Cessna DZ, so I had to learn to spot. My greatest learning came during my 1/2 mile walk back from my bad spot.
