Why a minimum wing loading requirement?
phoenixlpr replied to fibonacci's topic in Safety and Training
It was a light women, low WL, hot summer turbulent day and a Katana - restricted nose canopy. Her canopy collapsed -
Tail flutter during high speed dive
phoenixlpr replied to stayhigh's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
No. Too loose break lines can cause tail flutter. -
It is required on every phone but you can turn it off. most of the time E911 GPS cannot be disabled to my humble knowledge, there is no such thing as `e911 gps`. Even more, gps has very low signal straight - indoor it almost never works. if you turn gps off on your phone there is no `back door` for the police to turn it on, nor (as I said previously) they need it in order to pinpoint your current location. Come on! You should have seen on CSI how is that done in real life.

Why a minimum wing loading requirement?
phoenixlpr replied to fibonacci's topic in Safety and Training
What kind of wing are you flying? A RAM-Air canopy? Your canopy is flying as long its pressurized. An airfoil is designed with a minimum airspeed in mind. If you go below that your canopy might not open properly or might not be stable in turbulence. Under loading a semi-closed nose elliptical canopy might not be a good idea. -
Asking questions is important, but listening is more important.

PD-R 126 flies and flares really nice even with WL 1.6.

I can burn it to a disk if you pay enough.

What happened after 2:15? That's a scene low in the forest. Deployment?

Five chamber parabolic bracing

Well, It sounds very similar. Non of them is in production. -

Interesting like Z-bracing. -
Setting landing direction (was: Perris double fatality)
phoenixlpr replied to Deisel's topic in Safety and Training
Not a valid reason, but I think that FMD advocates think that way because they are excessively worried about having to do a down- or cross-wind landing in the event that the wind changes between boarding and landing. If that is the case then a little education and practice on landing other directions that into the wind might be a better answer than FMD. After all, when landing out there may be no option. If that fear is taken away then a pre-determined landing direction makes perfect sense. Setting a pre-determined landing direction before takeoff. Great idea: Look how much money DZs would save not having to have buy and maintain those pesky windsocks and tetahedrons. Jumpsuit and rig repair companies would also benefit, not to mention the ambulance companies. Imagine we do have those. Anyway it has not hurt anyone that we discuss landing direction before boarding the aircraft, specially the swooping area. Result? Rarely a grass stain. -

Yes, it actually CAN happen to you.....

There is just a limited amount of thing you can put in a course. There are more important things at that phase than canopy control. They can and should learn how to behave under a canopy later on. -

That could be a different example. The "youngest" jumper was in the 125-250 jumps range there and there were people with 2000-5000+ jumps also. -
Yes. I got an X-Wing too. I don't do BASE, so airplanes only. I got only 20-30 jumps with that only. I don't notice at all. It's not in my way when I pull.

It was interesting to see the 63 way Finnish record attempts to land in 2009. Image 65 canopies flying over EMPURIABRAVA! Also image when 1-2 morons could not see or find a pattern a common direction with the rest of the fish-boll. Landing is not about different sizes and wing loads, but egos and discipline. With enough talent available there can be a dangerous traffic from a single C-172. -
Older suit. It was not available in custom sizing. Never really got popular. Bird -man PHI

There is nothing wrong with the unit. Reserve canopies still have the very same requirements. The problem is in the user. If you have an ADD you should know its operating parameters and you not suppose to exceed those. AFAIK CYPRES was designed to prevent no pull. It is not angel. It has just a set of algorithm for saving your life if needed. You should not the limitation if its use. If you know that those are not applicable than make sure you switch it off. E.g.: I would turn it OFF in case of a hot-air balloon jump. You can have a second chance to live. If you get a 2-out because of your low pull that's your own stupid fault.

It was not ever about his English. It was only about his skills using this forum. Well, what to say, he is a fast learner.

Well done! MrComputerScience

thanks friend! computer science is not mine! Sorry. You must have missed something. Inserting a link is not a science. This is just being an illiterate. Too bad there is no disabled sign here.

There was a time when I was looking for a smaller canopy for swooping. I was wondering to have a Neos, but I've bought a used Competition Cobalt. By watching you packing video that seems like a good choice. CC opens nice, soft and slow without any kind of packing magic.
