  9. How about "definately" used in place of definitely? My pet. Fire away.... But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. There is the good kind and the bad. Without the good kind- less flavor to life. - Serge A. Storms
  10. don't know why, but the 126 lands nicer than the 143. Other than that you just have to fly the canopy until you've stopped. The problems I've seen with the landings on them is when people transition over from a sabre or some other better gliding canopy, and aren't familiar with a 7 cell. The person forgets that the 7 cell doesn't quite have the "finish" as a 9 cell. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. There is the good kind and the bad. 11. Well....I have this rubber duck that has been all over the world, skydives, SCUBA dives, BASE jumps, goes to war, bungee jumps, etc.. But most think that I am just an incompetent doctor or something. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. There is the good kind and the bad. 12. Finished! Hope I don't get fired. (although Crazy Ivan's clues would have helped if I had known they were posted. I was too "busy" hunting down keys...) 13. pic 4 got my attention too. My boss is a pro trap shooter - I always have to remind her, "You shoot on the East side of town and I will chute on the West." 14. Kinda cool how it goes. He breezed through Eden North (Edmonton, Alberta) last weekend. He saw the sign on the highway and had to stop in. Too bad we got weathered. Small world. 15. Oh yeah, Ricci is definitely the ugliest. Tim Hunter used to be, especially after Dave Semenko beat him up enough. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. There is the good kind and the bad. Without the good kind- less flavor to life. - Serge A. Storms
  16. The Swiss Sequential team used them at one time (c.1995). I remember it having mixed reviews, too many people talking at once or getting confused on them. There's also people like me who hum a song the whole time - that tends to piss off the rest of the team. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. 17. Yeah, that one was a hoot! I also liked "Mission to Mars" when the entry went wrong and out popped two ram air parachutes in a side-by-side. Somehow the parachutes managed to *land* ok, without the anticipated downplane. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. There is the good kind and the bad. 18. Duct-tape it to your forehead. That oughta work.
  19. Hard to count all of the places. All I remember is being in a different school every year which usually meant a different town / province. Four high schools in three years; two universities (one east, one west) and so on. My father was in the RCMP (without the horse..) so we moved over all of Canada. The wanderlust is in me as well, although I've been in Alberta for 15 years. I guess it's nice to have a home base. I would never trade the experiences of moving and travelling though for the comfort of that home base. But it's not for everyone. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. 20. It's a good read for the shock value of the packing houses, as well as social value - the book was written as a socialist text. Once you get past the graphic descriptions (it's a yo yo kind of story) it becomes a treatise on the beginnings of the Socialist movement in the US. That's OK, but it killed the story for me, reading it almost 100 years after it was written. Read it if you are at all interested. Just so you know, I had to read two novels during the reading of *The Jungle* so that I could come back and keep my interest! But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. 21. The story you tell is very interesting and takes me to a place other than the usual posts. Thanks for sharing it. I appreciate it. 22. Errrr.....actually, I still eat meat from a can (albeit rarely). The things that really concern me are in the attachment. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. There is the good kind and the bad. Without the good kind- less flavor to life. - Serge A. Storms
  23. If you want to really confirm your tastes, I recommend *The Jungle*, but Upton Sinclair. It was written circa 1906 and the response by the US Gov was to put into place the first Food and Drug Act. Chapter 14 is my personal fav. 24. Thanks for the comment...lol, I'm back to being a vegetarian again for the next few weeks.
  25. Some information on that. Although I am not an *expert* on it, I have been around...and no, I'm not trying to change opinions (I respect all differences of opinion), just providing information: By the time an animal is stuck, bled and then skinned, there is zero chance that it is actually alive. After all of the blood is let, the animal is dead. Without letting of the blood, the quality of the meat deteriorates and there aren't any processors or their customers I know of that would tolerate that. The kicking and other responses that occur during the bleeding (and perhaps into the skinning stage, dependant on the time lapse) are involuntary responses. Contrary to the claims of People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and other organizations there is a GREAT concern on the part of the meat industry to ensure animal welfare: It is not only a legal requirement in many countries, but is a food safety and quality issue as well. I have seen many videos on these organizations' websites of animals purportedly skinned alive, but the science doesn't add up: It's propaganda. Nations outside of North America, Europe and Australasia certainly have a different take on things culturally, and these differences are reflected in their choices of foodstuffs and the methods they use. However, it should be kept in mind that North Americans are the most ethnocentric citizens of the world. Our opinions represent only a fraction of the world population.......there are many ways to skin a cat.....(sorry 'bout that, couldn't resist!)
