Does it count if you use your parents washer and dryer? Ah it doesn't matter, I'm not picking anyone up right now. Cause I'm in love!

Mine is stolen. It's the name of a Tori Amos song. cause Tori rocks, and well I thought it would be appropriate for these forums. In case your wondering.... Blue Skies (also by Tori) is a really good song to put in your videos.

Do you knock before entering a room with a closed door?
CloudOnMyTongue replied to bkdice's topic in The Bonfire
The easiest way to solve that problem is just put up a sign that says, when closed please knock. Then they'll never forget. -
So I was at the drop zone last week and on the same load as me was another student. When I came down I heard that his Cypres fired. He doesn't have his A license yet but I think he's finished the AFF program. I had a not so good jump, I was tumbling for about 5000 feet, but I felt that I was altitude aware the whole time. I'm just wondering what could you be doing that could involve you so much that you don't realize that you are at 750 feet. Apparently he was attempting to pull when his Cypres fired. My JM told me about those guys doing the 4-way that all had their AAD's fire, but in a way I can see that happening. I was just wondering other people's thoughts on this.

Will Billdo I think that you have to much faith in coporprate responsibility. As speedRacer said Cheer and Tide are the same company. They knew that you already bought Tide, now they were just trying to get you to buy even more of their products.

Has anybody cut away with the SkyHook, yet?

I'm with Him!! -
Wouldn't it be nice if all DZ's had windtunnels... I found the hardest level the one that I thought would be the easiest. Level 3.

Passenger Ripcord on Tandem Jumps
CloudOnMyTongue replied to skydiverek's topic in Safety and Training
When I did my first tandem, I told my JM that I wanted to do the AFF program. He asked me if I wanted to do flips and I said yes. He said that it would good for me to know what they feel like. My JM was really little to like 5'4". -
That is because only fat old people golf, they all probably died of heart attacks and just HAPPENED to be on the golf course at that time. (probably something to do with the length of golf games. One can use statistics to prove almost ANYTHING. No offence intended to those who are not fat and/or old and golf

newb with a twisted ankle and a question
CloudOnMyTongue replied to ironeagle's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Not that I have enough experiece to answer this question, I will give you my opinion. Sounds like your leg straps were just tightened incorrectly. They should have been tight enough to not pinch ...anything... on open, but not so tight that they cut off circulation (this causes people to pass out too) Also, if you learn how to do PLF's really well, and if you remember to flare, then you'll probably not hurt yourself anymore. ~~PLF's allowed me to land 17 round canopies without injury, and those HURT! -

CloudOnMyTongue replied to efs4ever's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Isn't there a section called PLACES TO JUMP??? -
A copy of that damn book was preordered weeks ago by my little sis, it will come today sometime. As an aside, I work at Costco and the shipment of books came in two weeks ago, I took it upon myself to open it up and see who dies. I guess I could of started havoc then if I posted then with the information.

My first Mal !!! (Partial)
CloudOnMyTongue replied to CloudOnMyTongue's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Poor bear, your right I MEAN'T to say that it was a no wind day so that DIDN'T help any.(my bad) The skydive part was just okay, I did the right turn just fine, but I had trouble doing the left turn, and after struggling for a bit, I checked the altimeter and we were too low, so I didn't have time to finish it. I'm off again to do it today, hopefully this jump will be better, and hopefully it will be my last tandem -
On the tandem rigs I've jumped with they said the belly strap is pretty useless, that it just helps to keep peoples shirts down in freefall so the videos can be kept clean

My first Mal !!! (Partial)
CloudOnMyTongue replied to CloudOnMyTongue's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well that's good to hear, it was difficult to control the canopy, we flew with the right toggle halfway down the whole way to adjust for it. The landing was kind awkward. It was also a no wind day so that did help with making it gentle. What causes tension knots anyways? -
My first Mal !!! (Partial)
CloudOnMyTongue replied to CloudOnMyTongue's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
So I just got back from the DZ, and I was doing my second AFP jump. I was on the last load of the day and they were in a big hurry to pack the tandem rigs and get us in the sky. We went out at 13000, and the free fall was great, I pulled at 5500, and I noticed my tandem master having a lot of trouble with the canopy. I looked up and the left two cells were all tied up. I asked him what was wrong and he said it was a tension knot. We didn't cut away, we just landed making up for the problem with the right toggle, he told me to prepare for a hard landing. And we landed not bad. My question is when can you tell if your good enough to fly it in and when your suppose to cut away? -
If someone is going to help you pay for it than do it. I'd love to go to grad school, 'cept I can't afford it, (read: I'd rather spend money on skydiving.)

I take it by the poll that the increase in jump numbers is only going to change for the D license only? Is this just an americian thing? I'm nowhere near a D license. Just wondering.

Well I just saw them, I get the purple thing now. And I like how your name is on your container, hopefully that will stop someone from taking it!
