    My brother signed me up with the NRA a few years ago as a birthday present. I let expire. Not interested in being part of Wayne LaPierre’s fiefdom. I can make my own AR anytime the notion strikes me, and after two + decades in airborne combat arms, I am not wanting in 30 round magazines.

When there were notions circulating about boycotting the 2008 Olympics, there was a protest at Old Main, with hundreds of Chinese students waving their nations flag. Of course it would be morally indefensible (but that never stopped Trump)

    I admitted I was wrong with regard to Tesla, so you’re wrong there. GDP Growth = no Recession (thought we have to wait and see what the first quarter brings and see what the officials say) To be fair I wasn’t paying attention to the math, as a percentage drop from a high number is greater that the same percentage increase from a lower number.

    Actually I seek out options and viewpoints that do not agree with me, this forum is an example. This requires me to sharpen my thinking and to make my arguments more robust. I listen to NPR, not talk radio, I watch MSNBC, not fox. I will stand by and vociferously defend my point of view, however when I am proven to be in error I will concede (generally). For example, while my larger point with regard to the vaccine development was correct I was in error on one of the finer points, to which I conceded.

    The responsibility lies with those responsible. If you want to blame Snyder then you would have to blame Obama as well, as it was his EPA that was asleep at the wheel and allowed thousands of citizens to be poisoned.

    If you run your car while ignoring the check engine light until it explodes, and the mechanic puts in the wrong oil in the rebuild engine? Than yes it is partially (some would say entirely) your fault.

    I’m glad you brought that up, it is a very good analogy. Democrats screw things up (Flint’s finances and Clinton’s inability to properly respond to the USS Cole bombing) and Republicans are left with a no win situation. They clean up the mess and take the blame. On the other hand, Reagan and to a lesser extent HW Bush won the Cold War, and it was Clinton who cashed in on the Peace Dividend.
