  1. best wishes Bill. I just saw this post. I hope you have many more and stay in good health Bill Cole D-41
  2. MUCH! Ive been thinking about it, and between laughing and serious thought, its better left alone, even though it was about 30 years ago. I feel it would not reflect well on the Knights, and I have no desire to show disrepect to them. They were then, and Im sure they are now great guys. Bill Cole
  3. yes...but its better left untold. When I think of how the whole game played out, it would have made major headlines across Canada and the USA. I can laugh at what happened now, and how we beat the American General ....but it wasnt funny at the time. Bill Cole D-41
  4. I could give you a good story about the Knights when they appeared in Toronto one year...but I dont think they would appreciate it....and you wouldnt use it. LOL It almost became an international incident Not this time. Bill Cole
  5. get used to him.....he is going to be re-elected Bill Cole
  6. The city of Jerusalem was indeed destroyed in the year 70 A.D., , but as many of the scriptures were written within the previous ten years and survived that devastation, it would be because the writers were able to preserve them. St John who wrote the book of Revelation in the year 94 A.D. heard the voice of the risen Jesus, and the words of Jesus are recorded in many of the chapters of Revelation. Jerusalem was obliterated in 135 AD, and no Jews were allowed to even approach it for 200 years.Even the name of the city was changed to AElia Capitolinus. It is too bad your faith is so shallow, such as described in Matthew 13;4 to 7. The followers of Christ survived the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD, and were not "wiped out". The "history" was written by God, and that is precisely what it is "His Story". Peter and others were with Jesus, and witnessed the crucifixion and saw the Risen Lord. As Paul said, We preach Christ crucified; unto the Jews a stumblingblock and unto the Greeks,(non Jews) foolishness ( 1 Corinthians 1:23) Bill Cole
  7. Thats true...it was not the Jews ogf today who crucified Jesus...but He is the Messiah, and they still reject Him. Also true, People CAN live in peace....if they want to, but in the Middle East....few want to. They all have their individual axes to grind, and the peace they seek will not come until Christ returns.
  8. Yes they did. Pilate found NO fault in Jesus, and in order pacify the Jewish factions, they agreed to crucify Christ. The Romans even suggested they release Jesus and crucify Barrabus, but the Jews would have none of it. When Christ was put in the sepulchre, a large very large stone was rolled to seal the grave as Pilate had commanded. When the chief priests and the elders (JEWS) found the stone rolled away, they told the soldiers who had been guarding the grave to say "His disciples stole the body while the soldiers slept", and they gave them money to say so. (Matthew 28:12 to 15) The question that raises is " If the soldiers were sleeping how do they know it was the disciples who took the body? The crucifixion of Jesus was destined before the world began. Jesus knew why he was sent into the world. Regarding the end of His life, he said, "No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have the power to lay it down and I have the power to take it again.(John 10:18
  9. A very intelligent and wise perspective. I totally agree that there will be a horrific rise in anti-semitism in the not too distant future, worldwide. The Muslims seem to be leading the charge, and as this Rabbi has pointed out, some Jewish organizations are playing right into their hands. If the Islamic terrorists can do enough damage to America, the blame will be passed on to the relationship between America and Israel and blame fosters anti-semitism. Hitler blamed the Jews for everything in the 1930s and the german populace turned their faces away from the perilous situation in which the Jews quickly found themselves BILL COLE D-41
  10. perhaps you are right...at first glance they looked like wheel covers. I never thought about it when the picrure was first posted and I commented on it. Bill Cole
  11. Did anyone mention that the doors are open over the wheel wells. He was either just taking off and hadnt closed the wheel covers, or he was landing and the wheels hadnt come down yet. It would be interesting to know which, and what was his problem on takeoff or landing. Bill Cole D-41
  12. I made a slight mistake: The Paget boys were Mike (oldest) John (not Gary) and Bobby (youngest) I have never met a man as "hard" as Mike Paget. He is the only guy Ive ever known that took a running dive into the deep end of a swimming pool at night, only to find out there wasnt any water in it. He picked himself up, brushed himself off, and said, " Damn...thats hard water". edited for spelling
  13. A wekll trained student should not even have to "look" for the rserve handle. He should instinctively KNOW where it is. No excuses Bill Cole D-41
  14. I am herewith advising each jumper to follow his/her instructors directions. However, I would like to tell you a story about what happened back in the 1970s in Ohio. I was jumping almost every weekend at Parkman, and at one point there was a serious discussion about how to deploy your reserve when under a partial mafunction. It seemed everyone had their own idea, and no one could convince them they were wrong. My belief has always been and still is...if it so much as hiccups...chop it and get the reserve out. There was 3 guys from one family jumping at Parkman. Mike, Gary and Bobby Paget. At least one of them had taken part in the lively discussion about reserves under a partial. Nothing seemed to be resolved, and soon a load of jumper was on its way to altitude. The usual horsin around/relative work followed, and canopies flew back and landed in the grassy packing area. It must have been almost an hour later when someone had noticed that Bobby Paget (the youngest of the three brothers) hadnt been seen. In fact, no one had seen him since that load had landed. A search party got underway, and sure enough....Bobby had a partial mafunction, and tried to throw out his reserve without a cutaway. They found his body with both chutes in a tangled mess. I liked the Paget boys, all good jumpers, all great guys. Like I said earlier, follow your instructors directions, but as for me, I'll cutaway every time and then get the small rag out. 15. Thats funny....Do you have false teeth now??? Bill Cole D-41
  16. I think it is really a silly question, but back in 1963, a friend and I were jumping and he told me the following: If I was given the opportunity to spend a night in bed with the most beautiful woman in the world OR an aircraft to make skydives, I would, without hesitation take the aircraft and go jumping. He then said, " I figure I can always get another woman if I want to, but the aircraft may not be available when I want it. I would take the skydiving over a woman any day of the week. He finally logged over 5000 jumps and then got married......to a jumper. Bill Cole D-41
  17. The Stevens system worked just as well with the side mounted reserve handle. Just think of the dental bill if the reserve hadnt opened at all....and the plastic surgery etc.
  18. Europeans certainly do have a death wish....the death of everyone else but them. Just like the Iraqis, the Iranians, the Afghaistans or anyone from that insane neck of the world. Bill Cole
  19. I have always said that skydiving is the absolute greatest physical thrill available to mankind on the face of the earth Bill Cole D-41
  20. that will give jobs back to about 1/4 of the people who have lost their jobs in the last couple of years Bill Cole D-41
  21. I believe Al Qaeda either has in its possession, or shortly will have nuclear weapons. The Pentagon, the FBI and Dick Chaney all said its only a matter of time and they WILL get their hands on them, and wouldnt hesitate to use them on the USA. It is inevitable. Bill Cole D-41
  22. Isnt God's creation wonderful. WOW !!!! Bill Cole D-41
