    Baking

I am a happy little person because not only does my girlfriend jump she packs for me and phones me on a Thursday to ask what type of cakes or cookies she should bake me for the weekend. Life is good. I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  2. lol. I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  3. Congrats on wanting to keep on with the sport. When you go the DZ talk to the instructors about your last jump so they will understand your concerns and give you the advice to stop it happening again. Best of luck and enjoy. I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  4. I currently have one of my blokes facing jail for battering his wife. They had a row at about midnight, having been at the neighbours he was outside. When he went to come in the front door she tried to shut it on him. While she knew that he had one arm in plaster after a recent operation she did not realise he had the 2 year old daughter in the other arm. Naturally he shouldered the door away to protect his daughter. He went inside. They shouted at each other for 5 minutes and went to bed. 4 hours later the police arrive and arrest him for battering his wife (due to the bruise marks from when he shouldered open the door) One month later his bail has the condition he does not live at home so he cannot coerce his wife - even though he has been living with her since the "incident". The police are now prosecuting even though his wife is not making any statement and will refuse to go to court against him. Under new legislation he stands a good chance of ending up with a criminal record. This does not even serve the criminal as there has been no crime committed but political correctness has forced the change from innocent until proven guilty to needing to prove you are innocent. No-one wins and a law which was designed to help the abused merely abuses the innocent. I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  5. I am currently selling my 2nd rig as my nasty DZ has imposed a mandatory Cypres rule and I cant afford another cyres - especially on an accuracy rig I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  6. In Britain we dream of gas that cheap. I think that the cheap USD is excellent. My trip to Elsinore / Perris is costing less and I can now afford the hour in the tunnel I want. If the price is cheap the tourists will switch and bring a lot of hard currency with them. I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  7. You're the reason we are all going! I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  8. It'll just have to come inside then!!! I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  9. I second Nethers, nethers, nethers. Just cause I get cheap jumps there and the bar is cheap I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  10. The first decent weekend in April is always good fun for accidents because the people who have been in hibernation come out to play. Those whose freefall skills, canopy skills and observational skills are no where near as they think they are. This is made worse by long time jumpers who have built up a high jump number total and refuse any well meaning advice. I don't really care if they are a danger to themselves but I DO care when they are a danger to others. Just my 2 cents worth. I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  11. Why do you think the woman had her mouth open so wide... I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  12. I'm out in Perris at the beginning of April - bit of tunnel time and teaching VT1977 to skydive March and / or May at Nethers sounds excellent. The bar is cheap and there is accommodation in the bunk house - basic but very cheap. And don't forget the half price earlybird tickets! I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  13. Am off up North to compete in the Tough Guy competition. Effectively it is an assault course over 8 country miles (14 normal ones) encompasses electric fences all over the place (cause they are fun) and is being run on teh 32nd of January as the organiser doesn't like Feb. Anyone want to come and cheer me on is welcome to turn up. Tough guy web page Definately worth a laugh I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  14. What about utilising the small children that run around the packing shed tripping over your lines when you are trying to pack? I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  15. Think that deserves a greeeeeeenie month long ban so you can be a newbie for even longer I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  16. That sounds like an excellent option. Doubt the BPA will go for it for exactly that reason. I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  17. If you amble up to Nethers one weekend we have a fairly strong SA contingent (mostly concentrated around the bar) who will be able to give you help. Oh and hang onto the rig, they are def more expensive here. I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  18. Nethers May Bank holiday weekend? Heard rumour they may have the caravan and South Cerney's Let in... I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  19. Is that an African or European Swallow? I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  20. One interesting spin off is going to be the effect on competitions of having a wind tunnel in the UK. Currently only the top few teams go off and do tunnel time but even some of those in the intermediate cat have clocked up 24 odd hours in there. While this is excellent for the standard of competition it does serve to separate those who can afford to from those who jump for fun, and the junior category is designed to encourage people with low jump numbers to feel they can acheive something and acheive a respectable place by separating out the skygods. We could soon end up with tunnel gods (low jump numbers but hours in the tunnel) competing in junior comps. What is the solution? Poss to adopt the US system where you are not allowed to enter a category that 2 of the team have previously won a medal in (except senior of course ) This might also stop the non logging of jumps which does occur. Does anyone else have possible solutions? I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  21. I would def recommend getting back in the air. Get the best AFF instructors you can and throughly explain your situation and worries. You then need to focus on the positive aspects of the jump. Don't think about the negatives, don't consciously not think about the negatives as that will just keep them knocking around in your brain. Just concentrate on the positives. Concentrate on knowing that you can do this and you will. So much of skydiving is mental. And once you've done it you'll realise it was so worth while. I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  22. That was me and I am afraid it is true. Two interesting things came from the AGM. The first was an open admission that they have to increase BPA membership every year to retain Sports Council funding (hence wasting money on displays for their own office) and secondly that you get out what you put in. Only 13 people bothered to vote against the price rise in an attempt to get it better distributed. If you weren't one of those who voted against then please accept that YOU are responsible for the price increase. I await the flames. I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  23. Loved the photos. Great to find out what my girlfriend was getting up to after I crawled into my pit - hey someone has to remain sober enough to drive. Italian sounds interesting. Wonder if VT1977 was going to invite me??? I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  24. Priorities: SKYDIVE, Eat, Fuck or Skydiving is life... GET A LIFE! or Do you beleive in Darwinian Selection? Take up skydiving and we'll see if the gene pool improves! I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
  25. Have been in the APA AGM all day. Had a very interesting discussion about the BPA insurance increase. There are still no final figures as they are waiting for a second quote to come in but we are looking at membership prices of £100. Some figures, which I was not aware of (and straight from the horses mouth!) approx 25% of claims come from demo teams approx 65% of the claims involve injured students. In about 90% of cases the matter does not go to court. It is the BPAs intention to set up an insurance committee to look at insurance and whether premiums should be loaded either for instructors (as it is them getting taken to court by the students) by the students (who are making most of the claims) or by the demo teams (as they have an increased) risk Question has got to be - why was this committee not set up over a year ago. And remember ... next time you get bumped for that student or tandem - you are subsidising their insurance! I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
