  1. Don't have a nic. Open for suggestions but it has to be cool. Right now it's just Dick with no Nic ___________________
  2. Anyone here have experience using a dytter attached to goggles instead of being placed inside a helmet? (I like to jump bare-headed) Have you ever lost a dytter that way? Is is possible to HEAR it in freefall without being in a helmet? Thanks
  3. I like watching KCBY-TV in Coos Bay best of all! ___
  4. Matt: Your comments were great! Thanks for sharing 'em!
  5. Joe: Why has it been a YEAR since you jumped last? Were you hurt? Dick
  6. This doesn't have anything to do with skydiving, but I've always wanted to have a dog named "Stay", then I could call him to come by saying ..... "Here Stay!" Or, how about "Peeve"? Then you could introduce him by saying, "This is my pet Peeve". Blue Skies
  7. Jules: What's the latest regarding Drew? Can he receive visitors if I come up this weekend? Dick
  8. Maybe AGITATOR didn't mean anything negative. Could be he was just refering to me since I posted the original message in the thread. Yea, I'm a Dick
  9. In response to Slappie: The suffering in the world is testament to the fact that God can't be all-powerful and all-loving at the same time. He's either one or the other. Which do I believe He is? Well, I like to think He's all-loving and that he's not able to do certain things that He's depending on us to do. He gave away part of His power (freewill). It's easier for me to pray to a God like this, than it is an ALL-POWERFUL God that does nothing about the suffering in the world. WE'RE the ones that need to be actionable about the injustices in the world! God can't do it. This means God is probably a "risky" guy. He took a chance we'll help out. As a risk taker, skydiving is probably his favorite sport. (An angel has done a tandem with me on a few jumps.)
  10. Tom: I'm at work right now and the information you want about risk homeostasis is at home. I'll post the information you need after I get off work. Dick
  11. How about inserting the word "possibly" just before the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance?
  12. Has anyone ever used this line? "Skydivers like to get high!" website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  13. Michele: Did you know that angels are skydivers? They'll be making a dive tomorrow at 11am, and you're the target! They'll be watching to be sure everything goes OK. website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  14. Just jumped with 8 others from a twin Beech for the first time. The exit door is a little bit small, but it's nice and roomy inside, and the power & noise of the engines is unbelievable! Wait a minute ... did I say "first time"? Actually, I've been dreaming about it, so this was technically my 3rd or 4th time. website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  15. Scott: You're cool man. I'm a cancer survivor too, and would like to go the same way you described. website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  16. Hey Kenny ... I really like your quote, "If you wait until the last minute, it only takes a minute to do it." Here's another one maybe you can use some time ... "It is better to be rich and healthy, than to be poor & sick". Oh yea, congratulations Dave! website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  17. Hey SkymonkeyONE ... that's MY middle name. I always used to think it was because my mom liked John WAYNE! Dick website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  18. Hey ... it's good to hear from you Donna! No, I haven't named it. Never even thought about that. I'll let you know if a cool name comes to mind. Have a good summer in the sky! website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  19. Lisa: Just one jump today, unfortunately. Many more to come. I like the looks of the Infinity (mine is black with navy blue trim), and I'm sure I'll like it for many other reasons with more jumps. I've been using student rigs until now, and it feels a little strange to have something that was built to fit. Dick website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  20. Today was the first time for jumping my new rig! (Yea, I know ... BEER). It's a brand new "never-been-jumped-before" Sabre-2 with an Infinity container. I was a little nervous about it, and a friend said "Well, you always have the reserve." I told him it has never been jumped before either, and asked "What do I do then?" He paused and said "I'll see if I can get your money back." It's nice to have good friends. Dick website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  21. Man, don't scare me like that. I can't afford to lose a skydiving buddie! website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  22. When I got my new jumpsuit one of the females at the DZ said it showed off my nice ass. I've never thought about having a nice ass before. When I got home, I told my wife and she just laughed. What does that mean? website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  23. Here's one for the base jumpers ... http://www.denverskyscrapers.com/trangotower.html Dick website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  24. Anybody have some good suggestions for a cool handle? I was stupid enough to type-in my real name for the "user name" when I joined this site. Let me know if you have any good ideas. There's a case of beer in it for the winner. website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
  25. Michele: I don't carry much weight with the big Guy upstairs, but I DO pray and will be saying some for you. Dick website: http://www.dickmcmahon.com
