  2. two thumbs up Jen, I just spent 2 hrs on my living room floor(new jumper w/new 0 p sabre) trying to convince that miserable piece of nylon to go in the bag.I finally got it nice and flat laying on it and then had this flash back of getting the big kid on the block on his back. Then he says if I get up Im gonna kick your ass, so I laid there on my canopy while I grabbed the phone and applied for anger management classes. Thst is true but all kidding aside congrats...
  3. ***I have been using those handy Tic-Tac suppositories. Whenever I fart, people say, "How refreshing...what is that wonderful odor?" I am LMFAO

    RSL

I pretty much read all of the posts in detail and tried to create that scenario and the pros on the RSL outweigh the cons. Thanks all. Hey Ron your right, I went back to look for prior posts and I unknowingly dragged that dead carcas out of the closet for a fresh beating. Blue skies everyone.
  10. interesting, what if you mix it 50/50 with regular diesel

    RSL

***I would ask that you ignore my approach and just focus on the content rather than just ignore the post. I was the one who started this post and it was a question about the use of a RSL. Sorry it got out of hand
  12. Keep them there and put a sticker pointing to each dent. The yellow one is the porter, these 2 white ones are from the caravan etc and dont wash the grass stains off either. Sometimes it's funny when the day is done and someone says ooooh man was that you that went bump on the way out... yeah that was me.. ya wanna see. It's like getting a new car when you get those parking lot dingies. Don't pet the swetty thing
  13. Each is designed to protect you in situations where things get out of control, or where you were a little less careful than you might have otherwise been. I agree with your statement 100% but there was a couple of posts made from 3000+ jumpers who in their view have "never" been in that situation????? So on that note...let us wear our helmuts and " be in fashion"

  15. You have nothing around you to gauge it with. When on a motorcycle you see the trees wizzing past If there were stationary objects in freefall then you would really get that falling sensation. I only get it if I go low.
  16. Interesting post, 120 days looking for a 180 day. It brings a question to mind.... Who made this decision? Were test done by the manufacturer, field tested or maybe mathamatics envolving the nylon being stowed too long. It is something that I accepted without asking why. Don't get me wrong I won't dispute it but it would be nice to know of it's origin

    Bad dream

look at it as a blessing, maybe you were thinking "mals only happen approx 1 in 350 jumps (just an about figure everyboby). Sorry about your nightmare but mals can happen 2 in a row or not even after 1000 jumps (from what I read). Think of your dream as a good buddy who is saying "Stay on top of your game". Use it as tool to your advantage.
  18. we were all getting up just prior to jump run, I was in front of a tandem, the TM behind me tells his student to get up and just when he pulled him tight The guy looked back at TM and said"WHOA you have boldly gone where no man has gone before" Well I had to get out and laughed all the way to pull time. I am still LMAO

    RSL

The more I read and ask questions, I have a change of mind. I have seen two canopy collisions , the one cutaway without the rsl the guy had alot of seperation prior to reserve pull. Maybe it's a personal thing because I like staying away from groups from exit to flare until I feel comfortable. Thanks for all of your input as I will re-evaluate my decision.

    RSL

This post is not for advice but for opinions and I am not waiting for the answer I want to hear because I don't have an answer. The rsl is a wonderful device as a "back up" just as an audible. I get such mixed responses on the good and bad. I approached this sport with excitement and determination. This next statement is a quote " RSL no way, I want to be the one to pull my reserve". Another quote " thanks to the rsl it corrected my brain fart" It goes on and on and I can see a really valid point with everyone I speak to re:pros and cons. I have made a decision to keep my RSL but disconnect it after I have a good canopy. As far as my 1st sentence " I don't have an answer" that was for do away with it or not. I enjoy these forums just as I do talking to ppl at the DZ. Am I beating a dead horse with this post because if it's the first I'll have kidnap the Anheuser-Busch plant.
  21. Great post Reg, I have 6 jumps on my G3 and the hackey is about 3' higher than the rental I was using At pull time I couldnt find it which naturally makes one go into overload. The first couple of jumps I would reach back using my body hence go unstable. Then voila "RELAX" . I have heard the term relax since my 1st tandem and never really paid much attention to it. It (relax) made my jumps go from work to fun.
  22. Thumbs up to you Aggie, this was mentioned from time to time, but have never heard the different scenarios as discussed here. It made me grow an additional eyeball while at the DZ. Maybe a couple of bungy cords should kept in the plane??? Again, great post and I will throw it out for discussion this Saturday.
  23. congrats on your jump, 176 on your belly DOH!!
  24. Your post promted me to jump up and get my gear bag...took my helmet out and yes indeed you are correct. 4 yellow scuffs from the porter, 2 white ones from caravan and one above my forehead (which I remember) from the skyvan.. the one that Bush whacked his head on (the back door), and other assorted dings that I am clueless as to how they got there. I'll bet if I didnt have a helmet I would have remembered them all. LMAO from your post
