Do you have to wear a helmat
firstime replied to jump_or_die's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
If you opt to wear one keep it on your head for the 1st 1000'. If you don't wear a helmut thats your choice. -
?????? I was talking tunnel, I come here for advice? Maybe I should go to the safety & training forum..
-
hook up with Billy Weber, he has more intentional cutaways than most have jumps.

can't afford the shipping & handling

I am really confused, I am headed for flyaway in TN Sunday morning. To spend 90 minutes in the Tunnel seams extreme, but this is my firstime so maybe Im wrong. I was looking to do about 30 minutes and if I do my math right thats about 30 skydives from 13500. The most jumps I have ever done in a day was 4 and my ass was kicked. You all must be much younger than me. WHOA

your exit weight is about 212 under a 170.. 50 jumps be careful.........

Who Lives and Who Dies????
firstime replied to MakeItHappen's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
your right if everyone does the same thing 100% of the time..someones # is going to come up. Go back and read the thread again and if needed again . I think your thinking process stopped with "who lives & who dies". Read it in it's entirety. -
yup your right, no fun jumpers in good old boulder city, as for the atmosphere.... go to the casino and lose your money. It's more fun.

Who Lives and Who Dies????
firstime replied to MakeItHappen's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
This post is disturbing but very REAL. It said alot of things that we don't want to hear and could not have come at a better time with safety day forthcoming. I nor does anyone in these forums ever want to be part of "that list". I have vowed from the beginning that if I am saying "maybe I can do this" I am going to make the decision that will enable me to have beer at the end of the day. I have had some long walks and loved every step. Bravo on your post . -
Hey Congrats, How,s good ole "Norlins" and their new drop zone? Went there once and never again (not the DZ, the mardi gras) got my dumbass locked up, was supposed to jump the next morning but had to go to the fashion show with the orange attire and they made me spend my jump $ on bail, fines and other stupid sh*t. Oh well, welcome to forums.

I tend to go unstable upon deployment. It started when I got my Mirage, the hackey is up a little higher than the rig I was renting. What I tend to do is turn my body while I am reaching hence flipping my dumbass as the pilot leaves... too late to get flat. It's a mental thing now and I HAVE to correct it and it will create a nasty mal if I don't. I have had other problems in my short (56) time but I worked on them and made it better, but this is some serious stuff and I think the tunnell might do the trick.

yeah, my last jump was the week before thanksgiving, but the DZ opened up for a day last week so alot of us sqeaked in a couple of jumps. It was about 15 degrees @ alti, but didnt really feel it. The excitement to get out took the r's outa brrrrrr. ***don't pet the swetty things

Hi Mark, Most homeowners insurance policies have an endorsement built in called incidental business. If its not your primary source of income it will normally cover you for any peril that is covered on your homeowners ins. Might be fifferent from State to State but if not it can be added as a rider at a relativley low cost.

I was fortunate to learn about freefall drift with the help of an aerial view of the dropzone, then before my skydive(AFF) I had to calculate my freefall drift. The reference point was the runway which was approx 1/4 mile long therefore it could be put into perspective while peering out for the plunge. I think most new skydivers, as myself just think..get out, get stable, wave, pull and set up. It seems to me that alot of off student, newly A licensed skyivers dont know enough about the spot. Hey I don't (56 jumps) I know when to get out and when I do, I stay away from the group and come and play when I and ONLY I have the confidence. I am just saying for the new guys, dont be in hurry (with low #'s) to play. The guys that I skydive with fly better than I can walk, but I have great respect for their ability because they worked hard to get there. New in this sport and sound like an old Bas%^rd

I also have the sabre2..190. I had the same problem..opening to the right. Then someone in these post (sorry if I dont remember, and I should have to thank them) said to keep your feet and knees together upon deploying and bingo it worked for me, run this past some instructors to see if they agree.

Thanks Dawn, I am leaving Long Island Sunday morn 3-14 so if anyone is interested in hopping a ride let me know. Have a new 2003 jeep wrangler that wont break down As many people that I spoke to, they all said it is a great way to improve ones skills, therefore I go with'the majority. Again anyone south of LI and north of TN who want to go along drop me an email either here on the posts or PLF56@hotmail.com. Thanks Dawn, Larry

Hi Dawn, Was thinking Flyway in Pigeon forge in TN. Im going to drive so it's easier, have you been there and what do you think.
-
Thanks for the reply Dawn, I was confused with Location:unknown, until I found that quite a few of these are portable. That was the only vague thing. Looks like it aint gonna be a short drive!!!
-
looking for the closest tunnel to LI New york. I went on line but it was little vague. It looks as though TN or OH seem to be the closest. I have some freefall issues that I need to correct. I think the tunnel would be a great way to gain some confidence.

just wait till you do the skyvan and run straight out the back door. 1 second of still and wham the fun begins... YES INDEEDY. Enjoy

Toe taps in freefall helped me, It gave me a sense of where my feet are

Thanks Tim, box & VD ( no pun intended), All of your concern and and advice is a big part of the "issue". I will do video's on my future jumps, as they don't lie. I love this sport and not in a hurry to get to the license progression, but to to be safe for me & my friends. And I will heed to your advice along with my coach and use it to make me smart in the sky. And don't forget>>>***don't pet the swetty thing
