Purchased is a Bev Suit. Options purchased are the following: Large grippers (arms, both sides of legs), poly cotton material, liner (double material on the belly/chest/front of suit), pleats (material on the legs for fall rate control), cordura butt and knees, XL booties. ...I decided not to get swoop cords (which I find to be the right decision). The stitches and seams are very strong, the customer service was excellent AND the suit was delievered on time. Are the grippers cordura, too? How thick are the large grippers in inches? Was the doubled fabric an option? I don't see it on their order form, so how much more was that? The pleats on the legs are confusing to me. Can you describe this and explain the exact purpose for pleats. What are swoop cords? How long did it take to get this suit, and did you pay extra to have it rushed? I'm sorry for all the questions. This info is very important to me as I am going to purchase a custom RW Bev (Hotbod) suit myself this week. I have bought used RW suits and had them altered, but it's just not the same. I had suit altered so much smaller that I realized on the ground, I can't turn or arch properly anymore. I am petite, but unlike other small women - I have feminine curves. Proper fit with even normal clothing has always been an issue. I had a freefly suit custom made, and it fits like a dream. Since I am thinking seriously about pursuing RW, I decided to also purchase a custom suit. I truly believe in the "dress for success" saying after wearing so many different suits. Thank you in advance, David.

I'm very impressed with your determination, Ripple. From what I have read, I already think very highly of you. I truly wish you the best of luck with your situation. I hope to share a plane ride to altitude with you one day. Blue skies, my sky sister!

Bueno, eres bienvenida, Jess. Que tengas muchos cielos azules!

BAGGY SUIT! OH MY GOD!!! That is unbelievable! It's funny, my FREEFLY suit is so form-fitting that my boyfriend can barely put his forearm through my suit's upper arm area. Then again, I'm so small that I wear my hand altimeter on my forearm...the only place that it will stay on. (Not fair!) I wonder how long it would take someone small like me to fall in THAT suit. Thank God for the ARCH!!!

So, I'm glad I did them, because now I feel like a real skydiver I never thought that you were anything less than a totally awesome skydiving chick! What a great story, Andrea! It's nice to know that you faced one of your fears...especially combined with the anxiety over the pack job! WOW! I do not have my B license, so I cannot do these, yet. However, I also have visions of screwing up my night landing patterns. It's quite a frightening concept, but I do want to try them someday. Even after I have my "B", I will definitely wait until I feel EXTREMELY confident about my landings before I do my night jumps. By the way, paying a packer to pack for you is fine in my book because it's YOUR money to spend as you wish! I pay packers now, but I MAY pack mine once I stop renting. Either way, I don't feel that I'm any less of a skydiver if I do not pack. It's like this...just because I don't make a meal doesn't mean that it can't go straight to my thighs!

Reflex R350 -main canopy size question...
VanillaSkyGirl replied to VanillaSkyGirl's topic in Gear and Rigging
You are so awesome. You have detailed, informative answers to everything. This was one of the reasons that I knew that I could trust that nothing crazy had been done with the container. It's in better shape than I had hoped for and the price was out of this world. Thank you, again, Kelli. You rock! -

Thank you so much. This is good to know! -
God, I'm so sorry, Ed. ((((VIBES)))) By the way, if you need some old Taft crew support... Monterey this weekend is off. However, it's been moved to Skydive Taft (Crouch's) all next weekend. I have to go now, but just show up next weekend. Maybe some of your old buddies will be there to give some much needed support.

LOL! Love it, baby!

I need less boobies & more ice cream, please!

Actually, what I just wrote seems a little offensive, too. I may have come across as condescending...sorry. Edited to correct my own spelling mistakes...LOL!

ok, why do people always have to pick on the blondes? i know a lot of blondes are easy targets (i will admit there are many dumb ones out there), but come on, i have seen MANY stupid burnetts and red heads. is there any red head or burnett jokes out there?? Hey girl! I used to be a teacher. I will rewrite this for you, and you can edit you original post, sweetie. Don't take the "dumb blonde" jokes so seriously.

Yes, I've been wearing it at Elsinore. I am still too shy to post a pic...sorry. Edited to correct a typo. -
Maybe you could be played by the dancing baby on Ally McBeal.
-
I looked that rig pic up, Viking. Oh my God, she's even cuter than previously thought! Ashley Judd seems about right. Edited to add...this ain't no democracy...

That's a compliment. Julia-Louis' sooo much prettier in person than on TV.
-
Both are the cream of the crop...in every way!

He looks better in real life.

LOL! OK, just trying to help...I'll retreat to my little corner now.

Well, OK, thank you for your consideration. Wintermute - Tad is a new poster, so I understand. He may just want to be in the background, anyway. Please also keep in mind that Lou Diamond Philips is a real life neighbor of my folks. I may be able to "get him" for the movie for less...

Can I add someone else? My BF, Wintermute (who can't post much due to actually working at his workplace, but who always lurks) has not been cast. He looks a little like Bruce Willis when he's bald (or Vin Diesel because of the bald head/killer body combo). He's quite physically fit, so Bruce Willis is may even be a step down. However, I nominate Bruce Willis as Wintermute!
