  1. (reaches) There you go, I think that you dropped this carrot... Btw, I like your philosophical reply. Titles for oneself are not necessarily good. It usually creates barriers within ourselves and seperations in relations to others.
  2. Quote ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I heard the formula was middle name - current street name ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Then, I am no longer Snow Woodley as the name changes to Alexandra Figueroa. It's long and weird... I'm talking about the second "porn name". I'd rather be Snow.
  3. I wasn't allowed to watch horror films as a child. However, I saw my first scary movie at a friend's home. It was THE SHINING. God, I was traumatized. THE AMITYVILLE HORROR, which I saw as a teenager, was also extremely frightening. As a Catholic-raised, seven-year old girl, I was verbally TOLD the story of THE EXORCIST and was scared out of my wits for weeks. The same thing happened after finally seeing the movie in my late teens. Possession of the body and soul by something so evil is indeed terrifying. For me, this is why THE EXORCIST wins hands down as the scariest movie. My favorite horror movies that I have seen lately are THE OTHERS and THE RING.
  4. LOL! I'd need an astonishingly long arm to make it to the U.K. to hold her down! I WILL do it, though...I will! Edited to add: I am suddenly putting an ! at the end of every sentence. Does this mean that I'm hysterical?
  5. I'm so sorry for your loss, Lisa. (((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))
  6. [Edit: Oh, and I'm a bit of a wimp, too! ] Ok, wimp! However, we will not let you go! YOU BELONG HERE...and you know it!
  7. Even though I do agree that a skydiver is NOT someone that is on a tandem skydive, I believe that there can be exceptions. On Saturday, I saw a person that could not move most of his body, go on a tandem skydive. He was so courageous and full of life. In my mind, his heart is that of as skydiver; therefore, I did see him as a "skydiver". I think the same of someone like Ripple who is also disabled and cannot go up by herself. She is a skydiver in my eyes. You see, if these two COULD physically go up and pull by themselves, they would be flying circles around us all.
  8. No, no, no...please don't go, Ripple. You bring such a unique perspective to these forums. I know why you are upset right now. Please do not be offended by some of the people on the forums. While I was reading that thread, I was thinking that I believe that you are one of the bravest and boldest of us all. You have a disability, but you have overcome so much to do something that anyone would have a difficult time doing. You are truly an inspiration to me, so please don't go away! I'll miss you. PM me, anytime, if you need to talk. Hugs, ROSA
  9. I've been 32 for exactly 3 months now...seems to be a good age, so far I agree that it's a good age! I am 6 days older than you, blondeflyer7! HAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYY BIRRRRRTHDAAAAAAAAAY TOOOO YOOOOOOUUUUUU!!!!!!
  10. Hi Mouth! Hi Bytch! It sounds like fun over there. I know why you will not go to bed. A little while ago I sent Michele this pm: ...Is it just me, or are you also thinking that you will be having white visor nightmares... Edited to add: She didn't get it, but I was trying to make a joke about all the white visors being advertised in the women's forums.
  11. Baryishnikov...yum... Congratulations on being a ballerina, again, Val! Dancing ballet takes such grace and strength mental and otherwise that it will probably help to improve your skydiving skills. I also have been considering taking ballet classes as an adult. The thought of it makes me smile...
  12. Heal fast, Skybaby. (((((((((((VIBES)))))))))))))) I hope that you can feel the love coming your way.
  13. Why am I letting my brain analyze and overanalyze what happened during my first attempt at C-1? I am the QUEEN of overanalyzing things, Muenkel. It's because we are perfectionists. Trust me, I was warned that perfectionists have the most difficult time learning to skydive. It's true. I also did not pass every level easily. I am embarrassed to have written that, but don't you feel better now? I wasn't ever spinning uncontrollably by myself, but I lost one of my instructors one AFF2. This left me a little freaked and disoriented when I should have just proceeded, even though things weren't "perfect". Trust me, there are PLENTY of people here who have failed levels. LOL! They need to come out of their hiding place and share with you. I thank you for the sweet pm. Now, it's my turn to be there for you. Maybe just try to just let it go for a little while, Muenkel. You truly did an awesome job when you passed the 2nd time! Please do not focus on the negative. There will be many more bad AND GOOD jumps! It is all part of this shared experience that we love...
  14. Sure, you can be an honorary member. Yes, a "Vanillian" is actually a good title for you.
  15. Hi Vanilla...it's me, Vanilla. It's funny that you wrote this post as I have had insomnia since I was a child. I think that this happens to perfectionists as I tend to obsess over things. (Maybe it's some kind of Vanilla requirement/trait or something.) I hope that you find a nice solution. Please pm me if you do, and I'll try it, too! Vanilla's unite!!!
  16. I know a lot of people who have lost thier Z1 on opening cause the elastic just couldn't hold. Good to know...thanks, girl! Yes, I am getting a full-face helmet because I am going to dedicate more time to RW. I also ordered a new custom-made RW Bev Hot Bod suit on Thursday. (I asked for a double-rush.) For freefly and canopy hop'n'pops, I have my freefly 2-piece and open face helmet!
  17. Thank you... Edited to add: Hey, I also like both your old and your new ones!
  18. I try to update my jump numbers weekly. I also finally became bold and put up a full-faced picture of myself wearing an RW suit. I may actually look like a skydiver in this pic...and half my face isn't missing. (The 1/2 face thing was getting old!) LOL!
  19. Do you prefer the Z1 over other full-face helmets for some reason, Skycat, or does it just fit your head better? I may be buying a full-face this week, and I need to do much research.
  20. I've talked a student down to a perfect landing, only to find out it wasn't my student! ROFLMAO! That is sooo funny, Shark...you crack me up! Jeez, this thread is so ...
  21. It's late, but I just returned from Taft. I was there, Ed, and I probably just missed seeing you. There were so many AAW people at Taft today! Wasn' t it nice?
