  1. LOL! Oh well...their loss. Let's get cyber drunk, Rebecca!
  2. Am I that innocent? Can someone PM me what the guys thought that she was referring to...
  3. Yes, you look great! How "old" are you? You look youthful to me.
  4. Woooohoooo!!! Congratulations! I also have had DSL for a while now, and I could never go back. DSL all the way...
  5. It is a wonderful feeling of synchronicity when you press down and through just the right amount of paper using your three-hole punch. It all comes together when all the pages of your work line up evenly and join into an even flow within your 3-ring binder...utter harmony. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? Perhaps...
  6. I agree with PDS. I met you on Friday, Lisa, and I thought that you were very, very, very pretty. Actually with your friendly, outgoing nature, your little Southern accent and your huge, sparkling smile, you are utterly charming! If you are almost forty, I have to say that you are indeed blessed with no signs of being this age at all. I am sure that we will meet again, soon. Bye for now!
  7. Melanie Griffiths is an actress in the spotlight, but she is also a middle-aged mom and wife. I feel a little sorry for her dress choice. It is not a flattering dress for her or anyone. She probably realizes this now. How sad. I (and probably many other people) have taken pics where I look fat and ugly, and it's really embarrassing. I think that it would be horrible to live in the spot light, and I would hate to get ripped apart by the public for how I looked. Men rarely get treated this way. Our society is so unforgiving, and it has models looking at every wrinkle, fat roll (yes, models have fat, too) and blemish with self-loathing. This is what I personally hate about my industry. I love designing clothes, but fashion is so superficial and irrelevant. Most of my fellow apparel designer colleagues would probably resent me for saying that. Edited to add: Hi Rebecca, sweetie! I hope that it doesn't seem that I am criticizing you or the others for posting this. I wish that someone had told her that this dress looks horrible. Also, if you ever see mascara halfway down my face or something stuck in my teeth, PLEASE tell me! I promise to do the same.
  8. Wow~ That is pretty cool. There were SO many DZ.commers at Elsinore over the weekend. (I finally met Gia! YAY!) Thank you, Mandy for the lovely pics.
  9. Good God! LOL! That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. I'd almost rather die than wear dirty underwear myself. Cleanliness is next to Godliness for a reason! Arthur, first the dust devil, now this...I guess that it is just not your time, yet. Seriously, I'm so glad that you are OK. See ya tromorrow.
  10. I will be jumping at a camp all day on Saturday and Sunday at Elsinore, so I will also not be going to Perris until late Saturday. Actually, I may scarf down dinner at Elsinore before I leave, since my camp comes with dinner on Saturday. I am also hoping that you guys will still be there...

  12. Oooo...I remember Michele telling me this, although I have never read any of her "cold-shower" stories. Interesting. Oh, and I, too, hate when I am spammed by someone who thinks that I would be interested in Viagra.
  13. Thank you so much, Arthur. It was wonderful meeting you, too. We will definitely jump together soon. 1 wonderful bowl of orange jello with cherries from Viking
  14. Hello again! For those of us who didn't go to the AAW reunion, could you please let us know more highlights? Who was there? What kind of jumps were happening? Do you have any funny or interesting stories? Please share.
  15. Yes, I also thought that Lew was absolutely gorgeous (hot bikini!) and a sweetheart. Lara, I'd love to say "hello" to you, but I do not know what you look like. Do you have any pics here on DZ.com? I was at Elsinore from 3 pm on on Sunday and all day on Monday. Anyway, hopefully, I will meet you soon.
  16. We are ALL scared when learning to skydive. I remember being an AFF student, gripping the steering wheel tightly for dear life as I forced myself to drive to the DZ in a nauseous, sweaty-palmed daze in the dead of winter, feeling like I was driving to my death with a gnawing in my tummy, wanting to throw up and to laugh out loud at the same time...my eyes huge and a crazed smile plastered to my face. Uhhh...people that say that they are not frightened are lying. I was absolutely terrified when I began to skydive. My first jump was an AFF1, and I have never experienced such pure "sheer terror" in my whole life. My original DZ closed down when I had about 12 jumps, so I was still a student when I began to try new DZs. I was mortified. Also, I will not go into detail here, but I had 2 cutaways by the time that I had 16 jumps. I was not scared for some strange reason after the first one (DZ packed tension knots). After the second one, however, I began to question my own abilites, and I reevaluated my decision to be in such a dangerous sport. I stopped skydiving for a month because I was not sure if I was the one creating problems or if my second cutaway was justified. (It was!) All that I can say now is that sometimes stuff happens, and we have to be proactive in order to save our lives. I am not scared when skydiving anymore, and I do not get frightened even when I don't jump for a month. I experience varying degrees of nervousness many times about executing the actual skydive correctly, but the sheer terror that I felt as a student is gone. It comes and goes throughout the first twenty-something jumps as you are trying so many new things. For some people, it's more or less, but 30 jumps seems to be the magic number when most people stop feeling fear. Even if you still have fear every time that you jump, it will be a healthy fear.
  17. Why not cram as much into the skydive as possible? Exit doing some backflips, track for a few seconds, while pulling some barrel rolls, pop into a sit, some front flips etc, and then once you've pulled work the canopy out and concentrate on slipping back into a smooth and safe landing pattern. This suggestion sounds completely inappropriate. As others have mentioned he has only 26 prior skydives, and he just finished his recurrency jump after having had an injury. I especially do not think that he should attempt to "pop into a sit". He is on rental (or maybe student) gear. This may be unsafe to attempt as he could have a premature opening.
  18. Hi Juan! Maybe you should try to wait longer than you think that you should. You don't want anything to worsen and to keep you out of the sky any longer than you have to be. Feel better, OK?
  19. According to the Red Book of Westmarch, In Middle-earth, Rosa Alexandra Alva was an Intelligent Half-elf LOL! I am only 5 ft. tall! I am more like a hobbit's height. I will not bore you by posting all the names.
  20. YAY! Thank you, Scott. That is actually my parent's address that I gave you as it's the best place to receive things, but I am at my parent's home today. (My mother is still quite ill.) The mail comes in late here, though. It may still arrive today.
  21. You have a nice build, Scott. Your eyes are a little "exorcist" in that pic, though.
