  1. It's great to know that I can count on your help, Alaura. Thank you so much. Still hoping to get more people to come out to play and/or donate this weekend! The event will be from 11-7 pm.
  2. The jello shots and Sunday's AIDS Walk table at Chick's Rock raised $719. (Thank you, everyone!) HERE is a link to the IFLY Hollywood website. 100% of the AIDS Walk Raffle money will be donated to the L.A. AIDS Walk. Click open the attachment to see the raffle prizes offered in the Raffle fundraiser on Oct. 12th. (Winners do not need to be present to win!) I'm looking for one or two more people to help me to volunteer a couple of hours of their time at the AIDS Walk booth on Sunday and would appreciate any and all help with the baked goods. We have less than a week to make this happen. Thank you, everyone!
  3. Hello everyone, On Oct. 12th, IFLY Hollywood will donate a small percentage of the day’s proceed’s to the L.A. AIDS Walk. Please invite all friends to come fly on that day. (We are located in Universal City, CA.) Our fundraiser will also include an AIDS Walk booth, where people can donate or sign up for the walk. We will host a bake sale in the party room. 4. Thanks to you and John for the donation, Valinda. You two are angels. Thanks to Al for his help. I'm so happy to have met the adorable Granny. I'm happy to have shared a hug or chat with her and many others. Have I ever met Mr. DSE? Until Chicks Rock 2009, everyone! (I hope my prior somber post was not a thread stopper...)
  5. Yes, you did! I saw the donation the day that you posted and will be sure to let you have your jello shots first at the party!
  6. Sending my condolences to Fozz and his loved ones and giving the warmest of hugs to Fozz.
  7. Good luck, my dear. Santa Barbara is lovely. Oh, and yes, come to Chick's Rock!
  8. Choose the Alfred Hitchcock DVD!
  9. Last night, I bought the ingredients to make several hundred jello shots for the party on Saturday night. I will be making the shots on Thursday and will bring them to the DZ on Saturday evening for the Chick's Rock Superhero party! The jello shots will be sold in exchange for donations to the AIDS Walk L.A. If anyone wants to pay for their or for their friends' jello shots ahead of time (some jumpers did this the last two years), you may donate online at THIS LINK. I will check my AIDS Walk page for donations from now, until Friday morning. (You may also tell me in person, if you donated on Friday or Sat.) Those who donate will receive jello shots on the house at the Superhero party! Looking forward to sharing smiles and good times with many new friends at the CRB!!!!
  10. We have only a couple of weeks left, and we do not have even 1/10th of the amount that we need raised. I will be making jello shots for Chick's Rock, as well as setting up a little table/booth for AIDS Walk donations. If you would like to donate directly online, PLEASE send in any and all donations to my following link. Also, please send general team donations to the following link. Thanks!
  11. My sister-to-be, Candace, and her friend Deborah have formed a canine rescue called The Mutt Movement. They are located in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles, CA. Please refer anyone thinking of adopting a dog to them. Candace has such a huge heart and would do anything to help to get her furry friends off the streets and into a loving home. She has even left a well-paying career to devote herself full-time to rescuing dogs (and other animals). While Candace gets no financial compensation for her volunteer work, the joy of seeing animals and owners fall in love is fulfilling for her. I truly admire her selflessness. Here is a link to a video of Eric Dane talking about his experience with The Mutt Movement. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and please consider pet rescue or adoption, if you are thinking of bringing home a new pet!
  12. Wishing you a fabulous birthday week, Ian!
  13. GTAVercetti, heal quickly, my dear. My deepest condolences to Francis Wootten III's loved ones.
  14. I have to repeat this. Jan was awesome as Mark's interpreter and deserves much gratitude from everyone for her enormous help to him. Mark deserves a huge congratulations for his success and hard work. Well done to the both of you!
  15. I'm bumping this up because this helped me prior to my Big Way Camp and 100-way camp. I did a search and read Billvon's prior bigway posts. This post in particular, I printed and read on the night prior to my first day of the camp. It helped me know what to expect, since I knew virtually nothing about bigways. Thank you, Billvon.
  16. Is this question asking how many 100-way events, or how many 100-way jumps we did before completion? It was the second jump of the second day of 100-way jumping. I had a new slot on this day. If this is asking for how many events, it was my first 100-way event. It was our group's 6 jump of the camp. It was the 2nd jump of the day. It was my 2nd jump in my new slot (different plane, different slot, different exit, etc). I didn't answer the poll. It was my first time doing 100-ways, so I cannot compare this to anything else. The other group got theirs on the last jump of the last day. We were all pleased with our growth. It was due to the organizers' incredible coaching and the general feelings of the participants.
  17. Do you remember his name, Joe? I was trying to remember his name, so I could write about him. I was told that besides tunnel time, this guy had jumped frequently with the World Team members, who vouched for his abilities. Like everyone else, I was blown away by hearing his jump numbers, especially when I heard that I had the second lowest amount of jumps (263 prior to the camp) at almost double his amount of jumps. He was amazing!!!
  18. Thank you! Yes, yes...I will do this late tonight or tomorrow, when I get home. I was also told to submit my application for JFTC, which I have done. If there is anything else that I may have missed, please let me know, bigway organizers and fellow jumpers. I told Dan B.C. that in under 3 years, I can joing the POPS jumps, too!
  19. Hello lady...YOU are one person whom I would love to have as a mentor. I asked various people for advice here and there, throughout the camp. I made little mental notes and will continue to apply my new skills at the next camp and on my other jumps, if applicable. Mar, I took these bigway and 100-way camps, so I could learn the skills needed for and train towards JFTC and other bigway records. My goal is JFTC 2009, and since the camps, I have more goals. Now, that I've done these camps, I know that I am in love with bigway jumping and the amazing people that I have met from all over the world. I want to jump with everyone again and again and continue to work towards all of our goals. I am definitely applying for more camps, events and hopefully, I'll join the wonderful group of JFTC ladies next year!
  20. I love all of you so much! Thank you for the positive well wishes. I promise to check in with all of you, soon. I am exhausted right now. We have one more day of the camp to go!
