Thank you, everyone. That is awesome. Actually, all of us raised more than that. IFLY Hollywood sent in a check to APLA's L.A. AIDS Walk with several hundred dollars more from our IFLY "Tunnel for the Walk" fundraiser. If anyone explains how to (or if we can) post company check information onto our team page, I will try to place the info. on the team donation area.

Thankfully, I made it back into L.A. for the walk, although I had to give up my sleep and drive straight from my friend's memorial in Sedona, Arizona and into the next morning's AIDS walk. Alfred~ Thank you for being solid support and for walking with us all. You have helped the team so much with the DZ and tunnel fundraisers, as well as with your presence. Lisa~ Yes, I am a little crazy for making the trip (drove 16 hours total in a day and a half). Loved seeing you and Kris, too...muah!

Welcome to Dropzone.com, Jay. Thank you for accepting this new position. We are one big dysfunctional family, but we do have love in our heart for one another. After all, we share a unique bond. It is a small community, so we all tend to see one another at various boogies (skydiving events) and skydiving skill camps or competitions. Although you are more of a climber, rather than a jumper, you will find many similarities between the climbing and the skydiving communities. (I used to climb regularly about 10-12 years back myself.) As a matter of fact, I know several serious climbers, who eventually have gone on to become serious skydivers. Like climbing, skydiving really is a lifestyle to many. Many travel to jump and work to afford this lifestyle. Like climbing, skydiving is our passion. That's wonderful, Jay. I hope that someday, you'll get your license, so you can understand how amazing it is to fly with others. Yes, you're a skydiver in your heart. I would love to meet and climb with you, if are ever in Southern California. Also, I work in a wind tunnel (IFLY Hollywood - indoor skydiving facility), and we'd love to have you fly with us. Take care! ~Rosa

That was also my most memorable boogie, and we roomed together! I jumped with my Airspeed friends, whom I had taken my first tunnel camp with a couple of months prior. I remet DZ.commers, whom I had met at the Byron Boogie and at Chick's Rock, as well people from tunnel camp and travels. There was so much love amongst everyone at that boogie, and I felt so welcome, even though I had just over 100 jumps. My final jump was my first 4-way BLOCK with Todd Hawkins (Airspeed) from 15000 at sunset. I have it on video (dagimp). I will always remember how special Todd made that jump. My next most memorable boogie was Chick's Rock 2006. What a blast! My jello shots raised much for breast cancer, and that made me so happy. The Rockstar party was unforgettable!

That was me a couple of years ago. I've been in amazing relationships throughout my life, but again, I am happily single. Now, I'm 37. I still feel the same way as I did when I last wrote this. Yes, I'm content and feel very loved by friends and family. Now, I have my Masters degree and a totally different life, than I did a couple of years back. I'm jumping again, and I recently did my first successful 100-way. Someday, someone will come and sweep me off my feet. However, if HE doesn't come along, then I'll just have to sweep myself off my feet! (Project 500, here I come!)

Dog & cat people: Is there a difference in personalities?
VanillaSkyGirl replied to mamajumps's topic in The Bonfire
Oh geez...please lighten up. I've never knowingly been hurt by a "cat person". I've dated and been in long term relationships with some wonderful men, a couple who had dogs for pets, one with a cat (whom I'm still close friends with...lol) and most had no pets. I wrote what I wrote because I have a loving sister-in-law-to-be who has spent most of her life caring for animals of all kinds, including cats. She is a "dog person". HERE is a link to her latest venture. In my post, I specifically wrote that saying that "dog people" (men and women) were "often" nurturers were generalizations. I have met such amazing souls, who have both as pets or none at all. I used the word often, not always. For the record, I've owned many pets over the last 37 years, including two beautiful cats, whom I've loved very much. I have owned dogs throughout my adult years. Now, my one and only dog is a beautiful and loving part of my family, but I have a lot of love for a great many "cat people". I don't care as much as you might think about what pets people have. -
Dog & cat people: Is there a difference in personalities?

Lol...and I love you. You are a "cat person" with a "dog person" personality. You are also loving and nurturing. The combination of each person's personality traits are unique for each individual. -
Dog & cat people: Is there a difference in personalities?
VanillaSkyGirl replied to mamajumps's topic in The Bonfire
That article was silly. The "cat personality" described there fits me, and I dislike cats. I do think that there is a differenced in personalities between people who favor one type of pet over the other, but I have my own views on this topic. Taking care of a dog demonstrates the ability to love and to take care of something/one other than oneself. Honestly, it seems like dog people tend to be nature lovers, down-to-earth, loyal and loving. These people often have great personalities. Dating a man with a dog often means dating someone, who is open, caring and emotionally available. When a person (especially a man) has a dog for a pet, it shows that person know how to take care of obligations, be nurturing and is not purely self-absorbed in his life. I will not write the personality traits that I've noticed about "cat people". In any case, these are generalizations, and they are skewed by my own bias. -
That's what I was thinking. Maybe it would be a good idea to make a call or take him to the vet, just in case.
