Don't bother. I watched it. It's almost a word for word re-reading of the original scripts. Steve Carrell is a great comic actor, but because it's essentially the same material, you can't help but compare it to the orignal, and for a comedy concieved almost entirely in the British idiom, it fails miserably in this format for me. However, as it's been retooled slighty for the US, Americans might engage with it more than they might the totally British original.

I see that I'm conspicous by my absense. Probably wouldn't want to drive the girls crazy though.

I believe that he does. It's probably like the Queen Mother's though, in that the last 20 years of her life, she was workd by two dwarves from inside. Man, he's going to be pissed when he dies and realises that it's all bollocks, and he could have spent 82 years drinking and screwing instead.

OK so Tom is acting like an ass here. You know, as far as Delay goes, I'd hate this guy if he was a Democrat, which says something for my level of distaste for him. It looks like he's not above trying to use more blatantly unconstitutional federalism to drag the principals back over the coals again. I also like the way he described Judge Greer, a republican appointed, pro-life baptist, as an "activist judge", which is conservative speech for one of two things. 1. A liberal. 2. Someone who dares to disagree with me and insist on the constitutional separation of powers. I suspect he means the latter.

I can't believe you went there....... Me ? I didn't do nothin' After all, not guilty proves he didn't do it doesn't it ? Just sticking up for our judicial system, like I always do.

If you're going to attempt to have any credibility quoting the Scott Peterson case, you're not going to look quite a silly if you actually get the name of his wife correct. And if your argument revolves around "if one guy killed his wife, then there's a chance every other guy with a dead wife has too", you may be on sticky ground, especially considering the the history of someone, shall we say, close to you.

Only because my sponsors don't like me to get into pissing contests on the forums. Of course, should we meet at a boogie

No one REALLY knows what her wishes were. I see him as taking the easy way out in NOT getting a divorce. He picked up a girlfriend and moved on. Maybe that was his excuse for not marrying the new girl? Judy She's dead. He did the right thing. Move on now, nothing to see here. Don't worry though, the Christian thugs who used this issue to try to advance their vision of a theocracy in America will be back soon enough, so there will be plenty of other opportunities to flex the keyboard in impotent rage. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually grateful to the federal judiciary for staring these scum down.

About time. Now perhaps the vultures who have been feeding off her for the last 15 years can move on to their next victim. She's well out of it.

I think what you're trying to say is that on say, a standard Infinity, Vector, Jav articulated harness with no chest rings, you'll see a buckle in the main lift web when you bend over, which is true. But you imply that if you change the ring, the buckle will go away, which it won't because what causes the buckle is the fact the MLW is sewn to the horizontal strap at a predetermined angle. Now, on my rig, my MLW is threaded through the slot on the ring, and my horizontal strap, and front and rear legstrap are threaded through the round portion of the ring. When I bend, you won't get a buckle in the MLW because it is not anchored to any other one strap. So, it is the style of junction that determines the articulation, not the style of the ring. Oh well, can't say I didn't try..... I guess all those years spent building harness/containers were wasted. I'll leave it up to the individual to determine the facts.
-
Don't think they didn't already try. They have no legal standing to do so, only she can do that, and she died 15 years ago for all intents and purposes. They just want to stuff and mount her body basically, and in their grief, they are being manipulated by Christian thugs like Randall Terry. Those asshats will move on to the next high profile photo opportunity after she dies, and leave her parents empty and broken.

Funny thing about cats. In cats brought to the emergency vets in New York after having fallen from buildings, there was a higher rate of survival and less injury, the higher their fall. Apparently, once the buggers have had a little time to orient themselves, they can spread out and slow down significantly. They actually hit the ground slower. Add to this, the fact that cats front legs don't actually attach to their shoulders via a bone socket, but by shock absorbing ligaments and muscle, and they can survive huge drops with little or no injury. I've tested this out on my cat, so I know it to be true.

I see. But at what point does trying to rebut an argument, which is what this forum appears to exist for, and defending yourself conflict ? As most of the posters here have strongly held beliefs, most interpret an attack upon their preconceptions as an attack upon them personally, and tend to frame rebuttals in a defensive mode. This appears to be most prevalent when a poster such as John pokes people with the stick of logic it seems.

You seem to be implying that every piece of webbing that touches the ring slides on it at all times- essentially saying that the ring stays stationary while the three pieces of webbing slide around it, which is impossible if it's floating. When there's tension on it, it will always stick to the one peice of webbing that has the most friction and the other pieces of webbing will slide on the ring. No different than with a slotted ring where one piece of webbing is held stationary in the slot and the others slide in the ring. Tell you what, as we seem to be going round and round on this. Next time you're at the DZ, get two rigs on different jumpers, one with a round ring, and one with a flat ring. (Don't use a Wings, as the articulation is two point as you noticed.) Get the jumpers to tighten their legstraps and chest straps as ready to jump, then get them them to bend and touch their toes. Then go look at the respective delfections in the main lift web. You'll see what I'm talking about then....

Cut what out ? It seemed a perfectly reasoned rebuttal to being accused of something that was clearly not the case. Are we now saying that you can't reply to a veiled attempt at character assasination by reasoned argument ? Just because some died who was friend of another poster, doesn't change the events surrounding that accident.
-
Actually, this is incorrect, as with a flat sided ring, mobilty is decreased once tension is applied to it, effectively locking down one side of it. If you want articulation in all 360 degrees, it's best to use a round ring for obvious reasons.
-
More to the point, what's she doing bringing family photos for display to school for ? Was she asked to ? Was it part of some assignment ? I wasn't allowed to do that. Don't make a lot of sense to me, but then again very little of this does. File under storm in a teacup.

Next up.... Pope found to be fond of Catholiciscm. Fish takes dip. Ursines make lavatory arrangements in local forest. Etc etc. Of course places of higher learning are staffed mostly by those of a liberal bent. Academia is by it's very nature, a liberal calling. This just in... Most military commanders tend to vote Republican.
-
That's because it doesn't need them to articulate correctly. 99% of harnesses that offer upper rings do so to allow articulation that is restricted by the use of a non round ring at the hip. There's nothing wrong per se in doing that, but if it's not necessary because you used a round ring at the hip junction, it would only add weight and cost to the system.

I suspect that if he's talking about the idiots attempting to redefine Pi as a constant, he probably is representing the majority view.

The fucking things crash so often that jumping out of on is probably the safest way to fly in one. If you every want to get pissed at the idiocy of pork barrel appropriations, read the story of the Osprey.
