Don't really know what else to do.. *** I have twin 16 yr daughters. Times can be tough, but they don't have to be. Church, Academics, sports or other "organized" activities, family, and support of the good things, can all help. Flyangel2 made some very valid points in her post. Sometimes harsh is what it has to be. Check up on them frequently. Are they where they said they would be? Are they with who they said they would be with? Kids need limits. They need to know that you care and that your decisions are based on wanting good things for their future. You will find that most parents are receptive (maybe even relieved) to get a phone call from you or your wife checking on the plans that have been made by your daughter and her friends. Let your child know, you will check up on her/him. You will expect cetain behavior from them. You will allow freedom for good behavior, and punishment will be the reward for bad behavior. And be consistant. Pray about it, with your wife.

Yeah, unless you have someplace good to eat that is half way in between, A two hour roll after 4 hours on a plane you can't even get out of is probably too much for this old man...!
-
So what is that, like an hour from Kalamazoo? (35 miles SW...I think Kalamazoo is SW) I don't even get in until 8:30 Sun evening
-
Probably be hanging with Diverdriver and his "better-half" Mon, but have no plans for Sun. At the same time...how far away? Cause I don't know nuttin bout driving in no snow...
-
Hell yeah... was hoping maybe we could get 2-eyed Phil to join us for some fun...
-
LOL!- ya right. Derek *** I have no idea what you might be refering too.... And so far, we have no one near Kalamazoo MI and Derek is the only one in Denver and he is coming here, while I am going there... And all of my expenses are paid...
-
Yeah and I am in Denver and you are in FL...Ain't that a kick in the teeth...
-
To bad Derek is in FL next week or you could make him take you out and and corrupt you. *** Yeah, that's it, it was always him corrupting me!! That's it!!!
-
Thanks, but Derek will tell you, We don't have much snow to learn on here... That and I will be working until probably 6 or 7 every night...
-
I don't normally post where I am going to be, but I have been traveling so much lately, I am really getting board with sitting around. Kalamazoo MI Sunday and Monday night, Denver area the rest of next week... Any ideas of what to do while there?
-
Oh my... You are just bad...

But to say "experience" plays a part in making intelligent or inspired decisions in the case at hand is off base. I get the feeling that you are saying that because you guys have been in the sport longer, then your viewpoint is more valid than any other... Sorry, but just because a couple of people decided to suicide does not justify "standing down" for a day. *** Nor have I suggested anything of the sort. Please read my post.

Do you continue jumps after an accident at your DZ? Why/Why not? *** We would continue jumping after and accident, if it was not a hinderance to any rescue/emergency response. If it involved transport of an injured jumper, I normally held off until after the ambulance left. In the case of a fatality, we would wait until the FAA released us back to operations status. CSPENCE...Thanks...and God Bless Jack! (and all of the other DZO's out there!)

BTW folks, I've made plenty of same day jumps when close friends went in. I've flown loads when others have died in a jump plane crash. Been there. Done that. The original post was about continuing ops during an incident. I think if there is sufficient staffing and people can focus on their jobs then there's nothing wrong with it. The bigger the DZ the easier it is to continue ops. I would take offense to it unless the staff couldn't perform to a high level during a stressful time. *** Chris, I greatly appreciate your insight and response to the thread. For those of you "intelligent" people who are not so inspired, that you might see what happens to to the skydiving community when accidents occur, then I respectfully ask that you reread what diverdriver wrote, take some note of understanding that just maybe, "experience" does shed some light on how we take things and how we respond back to them. In this case, I believe Chris is right. After owning a DZ for 8 years and 25+ years in the sport, I can tell you from experience, just because someone loved the sport, was no consolation to their family at that moment. As to the thread topic, that should be left to the individual. Some may want to show respect by jumping, some may want to sit that one out and ponder the time they had with the individual. I am not sure if it should be classified as a measurement of a persons moral standards whether they do or not.

Had mine done on a Monday. They normally schedule them on Fridays to give you the weekend to recover before you go back to work, but I told them do mine on Moday so I could jump by the weekend. I did jump, but only a few times. The following weekend all was normal. I never did have any real problems with even bruising after the procedue so it really wasn't a big deal.

Everybody knows that girls have cooties... till they start to grow breastses! *** Then they have "Hooties"!!!

You are the exception. Yet I know the reason you quit and it was not the right reason. *** In everyone's individual situation, it is up to them to decide why they stop and if/when they go back. I love ya man, but, don't say you know best what's for someone else. For me, I made the right decision. It was time. For others, well, sometimes there are a lot of underlying things that we don't know about and the best any of us can do is encourage others to make good decisions for themselves, whether they continue on in skydiving or not. So long as they continue in a happy life, support them. And BTW, my 1st jump in 3 years was a 16 point 4-way, Thanks Chris!!!

save your life again wally? no worries! *** You are sooooo BAD! Love ya! Mean it!
-
you know.... i tried working it with BUTT instead of ASS because of my huge concern of being politically correct: *** Arlo ... It doesn't matter if you are using BUTT or ASS, when you are using it, it IS politically correct! Now, back to you coming to save my life with either of those things...
-
if you can't get ASS from the person, *** Arlo, will you come save my life???!!!
-
not sure which movie but here are keira's *** Ohhhh, I'm telling Amy!!!!!
-
I believe most of your problem can be classified as "you don't listen..." A lot of these type situations can come from traveling, with a bunch of different climates. Head colds or stuffiness result and make it tough to clear your ears. See a Dr. if it gets worse.

Sorry, I haven't allowed for proper recovery time....

The boogie was great.A big thanks to Jack and his crew for another one done right.I'm going to let everyone fill in the details as I am still a little foggy on most of them. *** Spence, it was great meeting you there (and Chaos and Jumpchick!). Yeah, Jack can throw a mean boogie! It was a blast for me to hang out with some of the old friends and meet a bunch of new ones! Kudo's to the whole staff at BSA! And Ganja, where's my beer???
