Alright Partner, I'm not following your train of thought here ~ Halp me out. So we can call our SO's "Baby Squirrels" and why do we never see them? I'm confused? Did your lithium prescription run out? I call my Wife 1. Babe 2. Honey 3. Sweetie 4. Katee 5. ? Sorry man, I'm not original. =========Shaun ==========

Well, one more Loss for the ACLU. I think they started on good foundations, but all I've seen come from them in the last 10 years is absolute shit. =========Shaun ==========

Best customer service I've ever experienced!!!
Unstable replied to j_gouge's topic in Gear and Rigging
Wow ~ thanks for putting up the good experience here on DZ.com. I've been meaning to make myself a customer of theirs ~ I guess I just got a little more motivation. -

Anybody Use a Credit Watch Company for Identity Protection?
Unstable replied to WatchYourStep's topic in The Bonfire
We had our Identity swiped just about 3 weeks ago. It was amazing what our bank (Community First here in Hat-Town) did for us. Before they could even get ahold of us by voice, they shut down our cards, sent us texts, and recouped expenses. IIRC, a bunch of rejected swipes went through Dillards Online store, and that sent them off. IMHO, I'd be VERY cautious about credit monitoring companies. I've had several friends with 'Free Credit Report.com' get sucked into long contracts for just not shutting down their account fast enough. =========Shaun ========== -
**Same with minirisers! =========Shaun ==========

I prefer Soft links, but I spend a lot of time remind folks at the DZ that they are NOT a lifetime investment ~ and need to be replaced every season or so depending on how much you jump. =========Shaun ==========

I only ask because when I bought my last rig in 2007, they were 'just about to release their version of they Skyhook...." and "it'll be on all Mirages by June!" and "any day now!" And it's 2010.... =========Shaun ==========

ps... I went to KState, we have a fantastic Engineering School and may other programs that are on a national level (Architecture and Arch Engineering is a biggie, so is Vet Med and Ag research). I didn't get jack shit for scholarships (my 3.6 wasn't good enough for a white kid like me), I used student loans for School, rent, and held a part time job at an engineering firm to pay living expenses and food.... And my total Debt for a BS and MS Degree in Engineering: $38,000. Which I'll be happy to pay back. And if I would have gone to Community College for 2 years, It would be closer to $30,000. Damn, I'm just boggled about how that chic racked up that loan... I mean, just because it's offered, doesn't mean you have to accept it... =========Shaun ==========

Fantastic Advice. I went to State For my BS and MS, and I realized that after it was all said and done (well, I have 1 semester left for the MS, just need to defend). Well, I looked back, and I realized that I paid an extra $10,000 (about) to take the gen eds (first 2 years of college) at the big school ~ I could have taken them down the street for 1/4 the price at community college and transferred them over. I agree with you 100%. I have had Brother-in-Laws that went to expen$ive East-Coast Law Schools AND got LL.M's (not just JD's) AND went for 1 year study abroads in Ireland and came out with 75% as much debt as she did without scholarships. I just read her story and thought "Jeezus how did she spend that!". I'm trying to crunch the numbers for that chic, and I just can't seem to figure out where the extra $75,000 went, even after being VERY generous with her living arrangements and transportation needs. =========Shaun ==========

THANK YOU. I've been saying this for a while now, and every time I explain this to a new jumper at the DZ who asks me for my .02, I always get people ruffled up because I didn't say "OH MY GOD YOU NEED TO JUMP XXX RIG IF YOU EVER WANT TO BE A FREEFLYER." =========Shaun ==========

Don't they offer that?? =========Shaun ==========

thinkin about campin at lodi for a couple months...
Unstable replied to flipwithit's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I think it's funny when people think that there is big big money in packing in the first place.... I mean, get real. =========Shaun ========== -
I'm not attacking you, I don't know you and therefore I'm not going to judge. However, what made you go with a 126 instead of a 150? I mean, do you plan on downsizing your main and want the smallest container possible? I'm just thinking from a rigging standpoint, it makes a whole lot more sense to have a 150 reserve with a 170 or another 150 when you downsize. ..... =========Shaun ==========

I assembled a rig for a fellow about 2 months ago that bought a rig ~ the poor guy paid retail for each and every component ~ IIRC, he spent nearly $7,500 on the system. =========Shaun ==========

Off Topic (Kind of) What companies are still making the standard 7 and 9 cell F-111 canopies? I don't see the Ads on PD's site anymore, can you call up and still even get one? Flight Concepts? =========Shaun ==========

My wife and all previous Girlfriends have always said they like my eyes. They are very grey. Not blueish or borwnish grey, but deep grey. =========Shaun ==========

Did they size the containers incorrectly? I've caught them twice doing that... =========Shaun ==========

USEFUL POINTER Don't leave your rig in your car at Lodi. Buddy of mine had a loaner rig disappear that way. =========Shaun ========== -
Serious Answer I jump Racers. My Second Rig was a New 2K3, I had a 2k3 Classic Accuracy Rig which I sold to a retiring Golden Knight, and I currently have a 2007 2K3 with magnetic riser covers (cool!). Overall, I think Racers are Fantastic. Jumpshack is wonderful company that knows how to make a top-rate rig. Improvements This last Redemption boogie, it was 107 degrees out and on Saturday I made 9 jumps. After Each jump, I would peel the rig off my back. I was thinking "Man, this needs a spacer foam backpad." Then, 2 weeks later, I found out that was an options they just began to experiment with. $75, but they couldn't retrofit. Conclusion Get a Spacer Foam backpad on your racer. If you jump in hot muggy weather, you'll appreciate it. =========Shaun ==========

HAHHAHAHAHA WRooong-O! Um, bitch. =========Shaun ==========

Okay, Humor me for a second friend ~ why didn't you go for a 150 reserve or a 170? Were you trying to get the smallest container possible for some reason? I mean, this doesn't make sense.. =========Shaun ==========

I have a customer drop of a Vector 2 for a Reserve repack, and IIRC, I could have sworn it was a late 1998 model ~ Didn't UPT replace the Vector 2 with the V3 in 1993 or 1996? =========Shaun ==========

I don't get it ~ put it in the console, be nice to the police office, and he/she won't find a small bag of cocaine. I mean, what's the deal? =========Shaun ==========
